Bought this in September to save my back and do thankful I did! Northern Virginia just got hammered with one of the top 5 worse snowfalls on record. We had over 24" inches. We ran this a few times on fresh snow and it worked great. The final clean up was about 20". It was slow going and we had to take a few passes but she did a great job. Will buy again!

I recently got divorced and I'm now responsible for taking care of my house and the shoveling, the plowing and snowblowing. I live in Boston Massachusetts where the snow is not this beautiful light fluffy snow.... it's often wet and very heavy. I'm a single mom and I have no mechanical inclinations at all so taking care of a gas snowblower out like we used to have was not an option for me. I bought the green works push mower and it works amazing so I decided to try their snowblower. This did not disappoint!!! Set up out of the box took me less than 10 minutes. Very easy. Turning it on and snowblowing he did a great job . The one thing to consider is this is a not self-propelled snowblower so you do have to put a little effort in to move it along the way. That was not a big deal for me a cut through the heavy wet snow it through it at a pretty decent distance. And it's really late. Which was nice. I put it together and snow blowed my safety path from my back slider all the way to my front of my house and my fire pit in less than 35 minutes. This snow was heavy wet compacted snow. The 20 inch shovels are perfectly walkable path. If you wanted a little wider you have to go twice. I would definitely buy this again and I would recommend it to any friend. The auger and the chute are plastic so we'll see how it holds up overtime. But for like $125 if I even get a season out of it it's saved me !! Make sure you get the 13 amp power cord!!!!

Life saver during the blizzard! 30+ inches. Had to knock down snow before blowing but never could have dug ourselves out without it. We were worried it wouldn't work because of the price but worked like a charm

I live in upstate NY and get a lot of snow. I've got a 44" John Deere snow blower and a 32" walk behind. I got this unit to clear the snow off my back deck. I'm getting tired of pushing and lifting the snow and hoped that this will help. It's been great for the light stuff but today we got hit with lake effect. At 2:00 AM I saw about 4" of snow on the deck and knew I should go out and clear it off but I was too tired. At 6:00 it was too late, 26" had fallen. Lots of serious snow removal later I shovel my way up to my deck just to see the my 'toy' was still there. I shoveled a hole in front of the snow 'flinger' and began working. It was amazing. Like with any snowblower if the snow is deeper than the height of the auger intake you need to break down the drifts and clear that snow at the lower level. It took a while but its throwing the snow off the deck. I am so pleased with this unit. I have come back to edit my comment in March. We had over 181 inches of snow this season (so far... storm on the way) and this puppy has kept up with all of it. Seriously amazing. And I left it outside all winter. I had to chip ice off the safety interlock to get it to work but it started right up and flung the snow off the deck like it was eager...

This machine is a good one to handle one foot snow. During this year's big snow storm, I totally rely on it to dig through my driveway and side walk. In the situation snow thick then the height of the machine, I have to tilt it to get the top level shoveled first, then the lower level. It can handle some packed icy snow left over by big machine.

This ended up being the Amazon impulse buy I am most happy with. After a few months of owning it (and a LONG cold weather extension cord which was nearly as much) we received a blizzard on the east coast. My wife's Dad and I threw this thing together in under 20 minutes (it came mostly assembled, really just had to screw the handle into the machine) and we got to work. Here's what we found out. I like: This one is wider than any other electric snow thrower I've owned before by a few inches, and believe me, every inch helps to shorten the time when you're out in the cold. I would say it can comfortably do about 10 inches of snow with ease. I pushed it to around 2 feet which required bumping the snow to cause the pile to fall a bit and it powered through. Any higher clogs the shoot and creates a pain. Several passes during the storm, rather than waiting for a big snowfall to end, may be a safer bet with this thing. Throwing distance far enough to clear snow to the side of your average single family home drive way. Ours is about 75 x 12 and we didn't have any issues. Definitely angle the shoot WITH the wind though. Push button makes it easy to turn on. Clears powdery snow completely, no need to go back over with a shovel. It's small and easily stored. In about an hour of constant use it never once shocked me or overheated. I dislike: It's basically all plastic. So far it's held up fine but we'll see how many seasons this will last. The wheel design plus the light weight of the plastic make it difficult to get traction at times. Worked fine for powdery snow, but it's definitely not as powerful as a gas blower. Struggles in wetter, heavier snow with clogging and throwing so get out there early after a snow. I learned: Make sure you have an outlet near you're driveway BEFORE ordering this. They are a lot cheaper in the summer, so may want to wait a month before purchasing. Know which way the wind is blowing and start on the opposite side of the driveway, blowing pointing with the wind. Otherwise you'll just cover up what you've already done. Buy a long cold weather extension cord. Longer than what you think you'll need. A cord reel is nice too order too.

This was very easy to assemble. I thought having a cord attached while snow blowing would get in the way, but it didn't. I had light weight snow today, so we shall see how it handles the heavy wet stuff another time. My 8 year old was able to use it also. Saved my back from shoveling! I have had 2 back surgeries and knee surgery. This helped me a ton! Update Feb 24th 2018. 2 snow storms in one week and this thing handles it like a champ!!! Single mom and didn’t have the funds to buy a big one. Would but this again in an instant!

With the bulk of winter on its way, I thought it time to pull the trigger on a snowblower. So I started doing some research right here on Amazon. I was intrigued and impressed with a lot of reviews for the GreenWorks 2600502 13 Amp 20" Corded Snow Thrower, so I bought one. There are a few reviewers who don’t think this works right, and to them, I have a serious bit of advice: GET THE RIGHT EXTENSION CORD! In my opinion, this is it: US Wire 98100 14/3 100-Foot SJEOW TPE Cold Weather Extension Cord Blue with Lighted Plug. SOME BACKGROUNG: We live in Salt Lake City, Utah where some winters can be crazy. EL NINO WINTER 2016 IS COMING!! So of course, we want to be prepared. Check it out: So far, my wife and I have used our snow-thrower 3 times. WHOA! It worked so well that we bought one for her parents (along with the correct extension cord). It wasn’t super easy to put the thing together, but it wasn’t super difficult either. Once you get it up and running, there are some nice little handles to loop the extension cord around. When you are outside and ready to go, it’s good practice to take a few seconds and map out your path. Lay the cord out accordingly as to avoid running it over in the snow. The thrower sounds like a vacuum. It works terrific on flaky snow as well as slightly icy snow. Of course, the more frozen the snow is, the more effort you’ll have to put into it, and you may need to go over the ground an extra time, but compared to a snow shovel like this Ergieshovel Ergonomic Back Saving Snow Shovel, 18" W , GreenWorks will have you zippity do-da’ing the snow from your driveway onto your lawn in no time. Weee! It only took 15 minutes or so for me to clear the driveway, the sidewalks around our property, a pathway to the trash cans, and the front porch up to the front door. Not bad. BOTTOM LINE: If you’re reading the reviews and you’re on the fence about pulling the trigger, just do it! Just make sure you get the right cord because it makes all the difference in the world.

Great snowblower for the money. Very easy to use, maneuverable and fairly light. One warning which I hope helps your purchase. Do not buy the 16/3 orange 100 foot extension cord which is currently shown on Amazon as "Frequently Bought Together" for this machine. (16 gauge with 3 conductors.) The snow blower is rated at 13 amps and this is a 10 amp extension cord which is not enough. In the manufacturer's instruction manual there is a chart which shows longer cords require even higher amperage ratings than 13. If you're like me you'll want a 100 foot cord, which means minimum 15 amp rating. Amazon shows under "Also Bought" a number of cords which are 12 gauge and 15 amp. They are more expensive but this is a safety issue. There is one for Extreme conditions which stays flexible in the very cold, and in hindsight I wish I got. I am surprised how rigid the extension cord gets when lying on a cold driveway. Otherwise, the snow blower itself represents a great value. Not as powerful as bigger gas machines, but I am having no problem keeping up with snowfalls. Plus it is quiet, has no gas or combustion odors, and starts in the bitter cold without fuss.

Just purchased this right before the big east coast snow storm this weekend. My husband mumbled and grumbled putting it together because he thought since its plastic it was going to be a piece of crap. Well hello! For the money this thing is awesome. Easily cleared our deck and driveway. Best purchase in a long time...my friend and mother each bought one in the past two days based on my raves...you're welcome :)
