Well designed book cover type case. Easy to install the Fire 7and allows the tablet to be set vertically or horizontally for reading or viewing video. The material is pleasant to hold and is maintenance free. As will most book cover cases when the cover is folded to the back of the tablet the rear camera is blocked. And while if you install the case upsided down the speaker is covered it does allow a left-hander to open it in what for them is "normal" The only downside is the price which is really a bit high for a simple plastic case..Amazon Fire 7" (2015 release) Case - Slim Lightweight Standing Custom Fit Cover for Amazon Fire 7 Inch Tablet, Black

I don't understand the poor reviews on this case unless it's the fact that the case costs half the price of the tablet. I bought my case in Amazon's Warehouse Deals section for around $15 and couldn't be happier with it. I bought the tangerine, and it is a bright orange like orange soda. It is really an attractive case and does not look cheap. A complaint that I've read pretty frequently is that it's difficult to get it to stand. Once in a great while, I might have to reposition mine a couple of times to get it stand in portrait or landscape positions, but overall, it stands well even on my lap. I think the key is to make sure the part of the stand that is nearest the tablet is securely pushed against it. I have an android tablet with the trifold type stand, and it is awful. This is far superior. Now, is it as nice as the Speck case for my iPad Mini 4? No, but it is very, very nice and attractive...fits like a dream. Another complaint is that the cover doesn't have the auto on/off feature. In order for a case to have or need that, the tablet has to be configured for it, and the Amazon Fire 7" 2015 model is not. The magnets that hold the cover shut or open are plenty strong, imo. One thing that would be a possible detractor is that the case covers the microSD card slot. I am glad I bought the branded case designed for this tablet!

For $50, you can't beat this, however, You can't expect it to be warp speed fast, but fast enough that you're not falling asleep. I love this tablet! My Mac computer crashed and I just needed something that I could watch shows on, order things quickly (hello Amazon!) and feel like I'm somewhat connected other than using my iPhone. I'm normally a strict Apple user, but I decided to give this one a go. The interface is really easy to understand, and it comes with the basic apps already loaded. The volume is actually really impressive. This was one thing I was worried about since it's so small, but it's really loud. The size is perfect for on the go and go throw into my purse/diaper bag. I bought the recommended Amazon case and it doesn't make it any bulkier. So far, I have used it for shopping purposes through Amazon and online shopping. The one place I went to was jcrew.com and it did give me a little trouble with flipping through some pictures, but it wasn't unmanageable. Honestly, I mostly bought it to watch Hulu and Netflix, which stream amazingly well (this might depend on your internet speed though). The camera is an ok camera. Pictures are a little grainy in some lighting, but it's overall not bad. It's impressive that there is a front facing camera as well! I have used it for a week now, and really love it. It's an electronic that I will rebuy whenever this one bites the dust :)

All of my friends have tablets. They would tell me all the time "you should get a tablet, it, will change your life". I would nod my head and think to myself, "unless those tablet go down to $50, I won't be buying anyone's tablet". I came across an e article that said that Amazon was having a special on their new Fire Tablet. The price: $50.00 - I was sold. My next step was to find a cover for my tablet. I do not believe in paying retail for anything if I can get away with it. I searched and searched and searched, to no avail. The tablet covers I was finding did not have all the features I wanted, or they were just too cheap looking. I saw that Amazon was offering their Fire cover for $24.99. I must admit, this was a shock to my senses. I just could not see handing over $25 bucks for something to cover an electronic device that I had just paid double times that amount for. I did some more research, I mean it was exhaustive. Finally, I gave in. I purchased not one but two, my sister will be needing one also. I just received this cover today and let me tell you, it is a work of art. I kid you not. I chose the blue, it is a royal blue, very pretty. I ordered the pink for my sister. It is actually a beautiful fuschia color. The case is very sleek and well made. It opens like a book. The left side easily folds to allow you to view your tablet in portrait or landscape view. The right side of the case actually holds you tablet securely. There are openings for the cameras and ports. When closed, it is about 1/2" inch in width. I am so impressed with this. The cool thing is that with the way it's made, it will last you a very long time. I consider it to be an investment purchase, along with my tablet. This cover is so worth $25. I thank Amazon for the marvelous job they did on this cover.

This is my second purchase of this model for protecting my trusty old 5th-generation Kindle Fire. I am giving it 5 stars but should mention that the reason I replaced the previous one (again--same case model, but different color this time) after 3 years is that the old one started to suffer plastic fatigue and cracked at the corners. I don't mistreat the Kindle and when it travels it is always in this hard case and also goes inside yet another case (a zippered, padded one) so I can't explain why the corners would have broken off, but they did. I am fully aware that if I hold on to this old Fire for another three years, I might need to replace the case again. Anyway, I was glad to find the same model still available, because I really like the feature of the book-like cover; If I open the cover just so, I can read in bed in the dark without the light from the screen disturbing my husband if he is already asleep. And the easel-stand function the cover serves is very clever and useful for watching a video on a plane or washing dishes (I can place the device in this hard case on the windowsill above the sink).

I really don't know how you beat these for the price. I am not a big fan of only having a touch screen, and there are some limitations to the fire such as not being able to customize the screen saver as Amazon uses it for advertisements. Overall a pretty brilliant idea from Amazon. Give away the tablet for essentially free, but it is an Amazon spending machine. Buy amazon ebooks, amazon apps, see amazon ads and buy stuff from amazon. Just like security companies who give you the system and charge for the service, or cell phone companies that used to give you the phone since they make the $$ on service. In terms of a tablet it is VERY HEAVY. That is probably my only criticism for it. It can be a bit heavy for holding it to read and it's easy to drop due to the weight. We have other tablets twice this size that weigh less. Seems durable though.

I hardly ever used my Fire tablet because I didn't want to damage it. I needed a case and finally bought one. Since it is made specifically for my model tablet, it fits well. While not exactly armor plating, it protects my tablet. Making my table stand with the easel like cover took a bit of trial and error, but once I figured it out, everything was perfect.

I had bought a leather case for my first Kindle Fire and it lasted about 2 years before the inside 'felt' wore off and the Kindle slipped and wouldn't stay in the position I needed it in for easy reading. Additionally, the elastic bands with leather tops at the four corners lost their elasticity and the leather crumbled off black stuff each time I opened the Kindle. This time (fours years later) I bought new Kindle Fire (5th Generation) and the much less expense blue plastic Amazon Fire Case. It has been awesome! The case is magnetic so that it adheres to itself for portrait or landscape standing. The textured surface keeps it from slipping from your hands. It folds back completely and fits snugly to the Kindle Fire. It protects the Kindle Fire adding very minimal weight and is very durable. Great Little Cover!

What a surprisingly good and useful case. I purchased this in the "package deal" on sale with the Kindle Fire. Glad I did! This case fits well as it protects the entire body of the Table, it has magnetic closure to keep the over on the tablet and protect it during transit and not sue, and it has a crease in the cover at an angle so you can use to to stand the tablet up to read or watch movies. It's brilliant, and I didn't expect it to be this good, not by a long shot. I'm sure glad I decided to take the package deal with Kindle, screen protector and THIS CASE. Thanks, Amazon

I have had this Case on my Kindle Fire for 2 ½years now. It has worn very well, although it may have faded some. I am particularly happy with the spine of the Case that seems to be as good as new. I have not needed to bend the Case so that it would stand up so I cannot really attest to this aspect. Although I have just stood it on my rounded armrest and it is holding fine. I must admit I do not take very good care of my Kindle or the Case. It gets thrown into my purse. I set remotes, books, etc. on top of it. And the Case seems to protect my Kindle Fire very well.
