6 boxes of 10 twinkies.. I couldn't have been more happy with my purchase! Nothing squished, nothing expired.

The original "golden sponge cake with creamy filling", the Twinkie has received legendary status in the U.S. not only as a snack cake but as a cultural icon. Twinkies have been around since 1930 when a baker named James Alexander Dewar noticed that some equipment used for manufacturing cream filled strawberry shortcake was sitting idle while strawberries were out of season. How quaint! Apparently at that time, actual strawberries were involved in making strawberry flavored baked goods. Regardless, it seems Mr. Dewar subscribed to Aristotelian logic, believing that nature abhors a snack cake vacuum and sprang into action. Thus, the good old Twinkie was born. It seems strange to us now, but what we know as a seasonal flavor - banana Twinkies was actually the original flavor. Then along came WWII and bananas were being rationed due to their use as a weapon in the Pacific theater (or something) so the company switched to the current vanilla creme flavor and never looked back. More recently, Twinkies have been in the news due to their longtime producer Hostess filing for bankruptcy and (horror) the absence of Hostess products from shelves. Americans, similar to the era of WWII rationing, kept calm and carried on snacking despite some general griping and whining on various message boards, Facebook comments and Twitter feeds. Shortly thereafter a mysteriously named international conglomerate called Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co snapped Hostess up for a cool $410M. Smells like a deal to me. Now we have Twinkies back (yay!) but if you were thinking "These darn things seem smaller to me." it's not your imagination. These new "Global Management" Twinkies have been reduced to a slimmed down 38.5 grams from 42.5 grams... which was a slick move on the part of Metropoulos & Co, owing the fact that the average American (including yours truly) hasn't the foggiest notion what the heck a gram is. Nicely played, sirs. Nicely played. So, love them, hate them, eat them until you're sick, use them as a legal defense... they are part of the fabric of American culture. Personally I'm a big fan and try to have a few boxes on hand at any given time. It just makes me feel good. Plus anyone who's had one has to admit, there is nothing quite like the taste and texture of a Twinkie. It's an American Original... kind of like Jazz or Thermonuclear weapons. Bon appétit!

They probably should not sell these by the case...for my own safety because I wake up in the middle of the night and eat a box

Holy cow I have 60 twinkies! lol My only problem is the freshness date. But I know from experience working in AMPM/Arco stores that the freshness dates are ridiculous and they stay good for a long time after the printed date. LIKE A LONG TIME AFTER! especially twinkies. But just for reference. I received my box on November 6th 2019, freshness date on boxes is November 29th 2019. I don't plan to eat 60 twinkies in less then a month. This is a 6 month plus supply... And I expect them to stay good for that long. I think a lot of customers may think you got a close to expired batch but these are most likely very fresh. They freshness they print on these things is crazy... A hostess rep used to come into our gas station and literally throw away into the garbage any items on the shelves that were past freshness date. I would always go into the garbage and collect the pile she threw out and take it home... They stayed good for months! just some advice. But I would like to hear comments on what other experience or think here and what hostess themselves thinks... I thought twinkies were suppose to be the apocalypse food that stayed good forever :P lol

Growing up , I always had Hostess Twinkies, I was very Happy to find then again, The Product was very fresh, Packaged very well, No Damaged. The Sponge cake is moist, the cream filling very good, just wish there was a little more, These are packaged a Singles Twinkies, there are 10 per box to be enjoyed

I could not get them around here they sold out all the time and when I found them here I was really happy and they are great ,moist , soft and just the right sweetness to get rid of a sweet craving and a really good deal.

Ironically I have never eaten Twinkies before. However I wanted something during the pandemic that was sweet but would have shelf life. This is perfect. They are individually wrapped and like others said you get 60 of them total (individual ones). 6 boxes of 10. It will take me awhile to eat all these but once I do I will definitely order them again.. hopefully not during a pandemic

Purchased for 2 reasons. 1. Zombie apocalypse. 2. See if Woody Harrelson shows up if 1. Happens. Otherwise we dont eat them. Since they last forever figured it was a safe go to with this corona virus going around.

I love these. I bought the 6 pack thinking it would last me several months... It didn't.

I purchased these due to the pandemic, not knowing how long we'd need to shelter in place. I haven't eaten the first box yet and I have full boxes left. I will be giving the rest away. Not sure if I'll reorder. I like the chocolate cakes better.
