Gamechanger mixer. One of the few things that has been made in this century that is decent. I use it in a studio rack that replaced a Mackie 1202VLZ, a Yamaha REV500 DSP and a Behringer 31 band DEQ2496. Was a little reluctant to replace all these devices, but over time I gave in as I learned/experimented more with this mixer. I control it with an IPAD Air 2- prefer it over Android as I can place the RTA, the EQ and the channel strip all on the same screen without having to toggle. My only small gripe is that updates and development of the IOS XAir app have not been much of a priority (2 years between 1.42 and 1.5?) . It can be a little overwhelming- after 6 months, I'm still learning more about it and that's a good thing- they'res stuff I can do with this mixer that I could not do with any analogue mixer I've had/used. Love the idea that I can take the IPAD and roam.

I was really skeptical about buying this mixer. For the price, I did not expect it to have so many great features. The only thing that I wish it did was allow you to stream music from an ipod or iphone to the USB port. I knew that it didn't before I bought it, so I cannot say that its a con. I have used it with both iphone, ipad, and adroid. Works flawlessly every time.

I was totally blown away by this mixer. I have a large system in a small room, removing background hiss with noise gates alone made it worth every penny and all the other features had me in awe. Then I started unloading all the equipment the XR12 replaced in my rack. First my ancient $1500 synthesizer was removed, then the old scratchy pots 12 channel Mixer and finally the Reverb. All gone now. My rack never looked so empty. Complaints: I never got the wireless to work but the ethernet was rock solid. I wasn't able to get the reverb down to the level I wanted. Its OK but I would love just a bit less. Even with those flaws, my new XR12 is still hands down 5 stars one of the most awesome products I have ever purchased.

The best mixer ever.. i wanted to get the xr18 but it was a bit pricey but the xr12 is doing just fine... Its awesome... Cant get better than this.. i only wish it i could get audio thru the usb port. I got an extra set of outputs from the phones out by routing the source of phones to monitor and assigning bus 3 and 4 to the phones out.. its a beautiful mixer..

I'm part of a small worship band (2 vox, bass, 2 acoustics, electric guitar, e-drums, keyboards, violin) that performs at home venues (max 25 people). We were looking for a budget replacement for our Behringer Q802USB mixer because we had quickly outgrown it. A professional sound guy recommended we got a digital mixer and, after much persuasion, I decided to try this one. Oh boy! Was I blown away!! Granted, it is has a somewhat steep learning curve and there is no user manual from Behringer; however, there are scores of Youtube how-to videos. You just need to give it some hours and understand some basics on sound mixing. I was so happy the XAIR app worked on my Linux PC and Android tablet seamlessly. The 4 stereo effects are amazing! The gates and compression are just on fleek...and that EQ? Oh my!!! Strangely my mics even sounded better with it (MIDAS Preamp?). When we record rehearsals to the USB, we love what we hear. I'm yet to try it in a live situation. I think one of the real strengths of this machine is the sound routing. - Our drummer uses the headphones for his stereo monitor mix (linked buses 3 & 4). - Guitars and violin use Aux 1 (Bus 1) one for monitor. We use a small headphone amplifier to feed four of them - Aux 2 (Bus 2) is routed to our improvised SUB (FENDER Bass Combo). We don't feed bass from the mixer since signal is split with a DI - Keyboardist listens to the main mix (FOH) since our venues are rather intimate, and it sits in the centre of the mix Great thing is that each bus can be mixed using "X Air Q" on mobile; so the instrumentalists can have their mix without affecting the main mix. But this is my little regret: I should have squeezed my budget and gotten the XR16 as it as additional AUX channels that could be used for monitor mixes. So if you have the extra $150 (less if you're getting a used one), please just go ahead to get it. You can connect your headphones directly to the AUX channels using an XLR > TRS adaptor and the level is pretty decent. What are you waiting for? Just pay for it already!

Made the upgrade from my analog PA head to this little beauty for live shows and I LOVE THIS THING! If you are thinking of making the switch to digital. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. My only gripe is that the apple MacBook software for X air is 100x nicer then using a tablet. Hope they change that with future updates.

My only regret is not going digital years ago. Vocals through multiple compressors and chains ending in the LA2A sound better than I’d dreamed. The Pultec sounds great. All the classic rack emulations do, and the BBE Maximizer is really useful with my crappy PA gear making it sound better than ever. Want Ringo Starr’s breathing cymbals? No problem, the Fairchild awaits.

This mixers is ok from time to time i have problems with its usb play back. You can play your recording on your pc/tablet etc. The device works perfectly and for those who read the 1 star review: If you have gone on the Behringer site it tells you two track stereo recording!!!! The sound is great if you know what your doing as an musician. It's small and handy to move with and does the job. None of the other companies that sell digital mixers will give you a better price and a device that will multi track record for lower than 16 to 18 channels. Amazon doesn't have it's app on there app store so don't buy there kindle fire with it because it will not function. How can you sell an article and don't have it's app? Buy another type of tablet that can download from google play store where you can find the X air app. The x32 app doesn't work with this product i don't know if the payed version works neither.

There's lots of review about how great this thing is, but very little out there about more advanced networking. The communication is OSC or Open Sound Control protocol. It's not multicast , which is great! So this works on a routed network without special IGMP and PIM settings on your switches. The caveat is if the unit is on the same vlan as say an ipad the app will automatically find the XR12. If you're not on the same VLAN you have to go into setup each time you launch the app because the app is portable, and input the IP. I made a DHCP reservation for mine so it's at the same IP each time. The built-in access point is 2.4 Ghz only, so if you want to use it wireless I recommend an external wireless router like Behringer says to do. Software works fine on PC, MAC, and iPAD thus far and is easy to use. Unit is sufficiently quiet. Comes with rack ears, takes up 2U of space. To install rack ears you remove the rubber end pieces and use the included 4 screws to install the rack ears. rack ears can be installed on the front or rear of the unit.

Life is easy with this Mixer. Pros: 1. Light weight 2. Portable 3. fast response when working with system 4. 4BAND EQ IS AWESOME on ALL Inputs and Output channels. 5. Easy transitions from Laptop to Tablet Cons: 1. Unless you close off your Wifi connection with password can get kicked out during an even and not be able to reconnect unless EVERYONE disconnects form their wifi. 2. No Too easy to use in a crowd of people
