Measure far, measure true!

this is a great little device. Very accurate and easy to use and it is built well. I'm so glad I purchased it as it has saved me from over purchasing large gage electrical wire that is not cheap. I've measured several times and always within a foot or two over a 400 foot run and checked and checked with a 50 foot and 100 foot tape measure and it is always right on plus or minus and inch or two. the kickstand works well too!

This is a great tool to have if you do any kind of work requiring measuring large areas or even small areas. I used to use a measuring tape to take measurements. This unit makes measuring lawn areas a breeze and has significantly cut down my time taking measurements. The unit is lightweight, sturdy, comfortable handle, easy to read numbers, collapsible for easy storage and includes a bag (nice touch). The unit is accurate and needed no calibration (see image). I tested for accuracy using a measuring tape. Some complained that the kickstand was difficult to use, but I have not experienced this as it's easy to deploy the kickstand with my foot. The large wheel makes it easy to roll over rough terrains, such as grass. I would not recommend a unit with a small wheel for measuring lawns, rough terrain areas etc. I recommend this unit.

Very Impressed!

I am very impressed with the "TR Industrial 88016 FX Series Collapsible Measuring Wheel, Yellow/Black" from eToolsCity. The quality and design surpassed my expectations! Based on the price of much more expensive models I assumed this would be somewhat inferior, but I was wrong. The measuring wheel is built very well with some great features. 1) The dial with the measurements is very large and easy to read which is a tremendous asset. 2) It measures both feet and inches. It subtracts automatically if you back up. 3) The wheel measures accurately even over rocky, uneven terrain or around corners. 4) The kickstand comes in very handy, so you can stop and jot down the measurements on a piece of paper without losing your place in the measuring process. 5) The collapsible feature with the carrying case makes it easy to store and transport. 6) The ergonomic handle is also a nice feature. It's comfortable and easy to hold on to for short and long distances. I am working on creating an addition to my existing home. This product has proven to be very helpful in measuring the outdoor layout for the new structure. It has also been a tremendous asset in measuring out areas for landscaping to determine how much edging, stones and mulch I need. Couldn't be happier. Great product! FYI I have not received any perks or compensation for writing this review. I am just this impressed with the product and want to share my experience in hopes it will benefit someone else.

Well made and plenty sturdy.

Well made and presumably accurate. Heavy duty enough for normal wear and tear. I don't know what one reviewer mentioned about the hinge being cheap and breaking... If you are not trying to walk up the handle or use it to pole vault, the handle and sliding hinge latch mechanism is PLENTY strong and relatively unbreakable. I think it works great and should last longer than me.

Follow the instructions

Works great. Some people mention the folding joint breaking. The instructions mention aligning the white arrows. If you don't do this you can force the connection and break the connector. Follow the instructions and you will not have a problem. Measured distance with tape measure and with the wheel. Same distance. Works good.

Well made, easy to use.

Ever since I was little, I have wanted one of these. Don't ask me why, I just thought they were cool. Obviously, "cool" isn't a good enough reason to purchase this particular item as it serves an actual purpose, but lo and behold I finally needed it to measure my property lines and boom, I finally got to buy one. I was able to measure my property lines accurately and efficiently. It even has a stand and a carrying bag if you are going to be doing something like this all day.

Works good accurate measurement sturdy

Nice wheel, heavy, works good accurate measurement. I am an insurance inspector and have to measure buildings for values and to get square footage. I had a Stanley I bought some time ago for $100 charged to work and it fell apart handle broke etc it was just wobbly. This one is good, recommend it especially for the price. This small ones at harbor freight don't work well at all. Buy this one if you need a wheel, it seems fine. The handle works ok you just have to line it up before locking into place.

Works Great.

Got this to help plan outdoor projects and it works great. Much cheaper than other alternatives. Seems to be very solidly made. I won't be using it commercially / for real estate so I won't be able to assess it on a frequent-use basis. I was concerned since the stated size of it seemed to indicate that I would have to stoop to use it but that is not the case. I am about 6' and using it was no problem. It folds compactly and has a nice storage bag. Overall, highly recommended.

A Tireless Workhorse!

I'm well acquainted with measuring wheels after a long spell as a roads engineer; i've used a bunch of them years and this is up there with the best of them. You get a measuring wheel, calibrated in feet and a sturdy bag in which to store it. The wheel is collapsible and also comes with a stand. The stand is a nice touch but can really only be used on very level, hard ground. On grass the feet are small enough that the whole thing refuses to stand and will tip over.

Used it to measure a web of trails through the meadows, thickets, and woods with significant changes in altitude. Very easy to do with the measuring wheel.
