I bought this as a gift for my 14 year old boy who really, really wanted a "real piano". He's been learning to play and likes the feel of the "real piano" keys. The keys on this electronic piano atte weighted well so they feel a lot like the real thing. The sound is great and the most important part for me...I can move it myself and even carry it to a different room if I wish. I COULD NOT do that with a "real piano". Also, is nice out came with stand. I also purchased the head phones and piano dust cover. He plays this thing a lot, loves it and is getting better at playing each and every day.

Excellent value to buy the whole setup. The Casio PX160 is right at $500 at the time of purchase, and the overall bundle was $650. Take it from me, you want the bundle. Let me explain what I mean: Pedals - Most digital pianos/keyboards come with a single plastic sustain pedal that moves around on the floor for ANY reason. One time I was in the living room watching TV, and the doorbell rang. Next thing I knew, the sustain pedal was on the other side of the room hanging over the closet door. See what I mean? Literally ANY reason. This 3-pedal system is attached to the stand, so it won't do that. Not to mention... isn't it better to learn on the real deal than to just have a single pedal? I may never use those other 2 pedals, but it sure makes me look classy that I have them. Stand - Let's be honest, the stand that comes with this looks better than any "X stand" you could ever find. Plus it is very stable and you can attach the piano to it (as well as the pedals, as previously covered). It just provides a more realistic experience in my opinion, with no wobbles or adjustment necessary. Sometimes I'm playing piano so hard, the house starts to shake. Obviously an X stand breaks immediately in this situations. I've probably gone through about 40 X stands in the past 2 years. So far, THIS stand has held up every single time. Bench - Question: Which would you rather sit on, an old wobbly chair that provides no comfort or stability, is probably the wrong height, and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, or THIS BENCH? Yeah, it doesn't just look nice, it feels great. It's actually a nice thick seat, has adjustable legs for those pesky uneven floors, and can be opened to allow music and various other items to be stored in it. The legs are actually a very sturdy metal. No joking here, this bench is probably worth the price of the extra $$$ you pay for the bundle. You may assume it's cheap because it's too good of a value to be true, but this bench is legit. So you see? The bundle is clearly the best value. I'm not even mentioning the cloth or strategy guide that comes with it, but those come with it too. The piano itself sounds excellent at this price point. I played several models at a music store, and this one beat nearly all of them. I think the Yamaha P115 sounded better, but only ever so slightly. I chose this one because of the gradual resistance on the keys as you go from low to high notes, as well as the fact it was $100 less. Obviously you can spend up in the thousands and get a premium product, but this is a pretty great overall setup for what you pay for it. Top notch product, very good sound. There was another Casio that sounded like garbage, but this one is good. Check youtube if you don't believe it.

Pleasantly surprised at all aspects of this Casio piano. First, the package came and looked pretty tattered, I was worried. DON'T BE! They use an outer carton and all components are individually packed in their own cartons, they were perfect! Unpacking took longer than assembly, lots of foam, tape, Styrofoam, etc. Assembly took about 20 minutes without instructions, I assume it would have taken longer if I had read them, they are written in 4 or 5 languages, I am sure they are accurate.... Anyway, if you have basic mechanical ability you will not have any problems. I actually looked at them after the fact to make sure I did not miss anything, I did.... their is an option for an "anti-tip" configuration on the feet - ours is against a wall. Anyway, there are 3 screws on each side with decorative caps, 2 holding on the foot levers (with decorative caps) 2 for the reinforcement bar on the bottom of the keys themselves (there is an obvious groove for this1 x 1 bar) and 6 butterfly's to hold the keyboard to the base. Very straight forward and a great design. The bench had some people saying it is flimsy, actually... it is a great design with incredible strength. If yours is flimsy, you did not tighten the nuts from inside the angle mount back against the nut you placed on the stud. This will make more sense when you see it. They give you a wrench and it is a tight squeeze for the back nuts. But tighten them and it will be extremely stable. Now about the actual keys and the keyboard. Again, a great value. The keys are weighted and feel very pleasant, I think just enough to feel like a real piano. The sound in all 3 modes is great. The few electronic options are great for a unit at this price point, and I particularly like the 60 songs included, great for background noise. All in all, I am sold. Hopefully it holds up, but judging from the thought and quality put into it, I have no reason to believe it won't! Great buy, excellent value!

Hands down, this was the best purchase I made this year (no pun intended). As is the case with many children of Chinese immigrants, I was strongly encouraged to take up classical piano throughout grade school. After a 5 year break from the craft, I found myself craving it like my roommate craves ice cream. Which is to say, quite a lot. Out of respect for my upstairs neighbors, I decided to look into a digital piano I could plug a pair of headphones into. This product caught my eye as--like most Amazon customers--I never consider anything with less than a 4.5 star rating. Being a poor graduate student, I was very apprehensive to make a near $700 purchase. Some initial research hailed both this and the comparable Yamaha model as the cheapest digital pianos that will emulate the feel of a real piano's action. Resistance in the keys is absolutely vital in building strength in the fingers and improving one's technique. So, as someone with Carnegie Hall aspirations, this was crucial. After purchasing the piano I must say, it feels and sounds just like the real deal! The weight of the keys, the sensitivity of the pedals, and my parents telling me I need to practice more. I bought the piano with the intention of playing classical piano music so I immediately threw the manual in the trash. Still, I found it easy to navigate the various functions in order to faithfully recreate such classics as the Jaws theme song and the intro to Game of Thrones. A few more pros and cons: Pros -Feels and sounds just like a real piano -Keys have nice grip to them -Has not shown any sign of wear after a month of heavy use -Package deal includes everything you need (mount, pedals, bench) -Pedals are surprisingly sensitive -Very easy to remove keyboard from stand and transport Cons -Piano wobbles while playing big passages. Makes it a little harder to impress your friends -Bench height is not adjustable (a little too tall for me at 6') -Unusually large gap between white and black keys, sometimes my fingernails get caught in there. Ouch. -Sheet music stand feels cheap and is not adjustable. Also can't be used if the keyboard is up against a wall -Packing material from shipping produces a lot of trash. It will fill up all of your bins and your next door neighbor's As one of the more inexpensive entries into the realm of digital pianos, this is absolutely worth considering. For someone like me, it certainly beats sharing practice rooms with the dirty undergrads!

For those of you wondering 'Is this a good substitute for a real piano?'. YES IT IS! I've played piano for 30 years and have been without one for 2 years (due to moving). It plays beautifully - keys feel nice and touch-sensitive works. The pedals work great. (I haven't used the single pedal that also came with it as I got the package with the '3 pedals'.) It sounds gorgeous! It comes with a good instruction book for figuring out how to use the metronome/change tone etc. I managed to record a song but haven't tried to hook it up to the computer yet. I'm looking forward to experimenting with that! EDIT: I have now..see below. It also has a huge catalogue of songs recorded into it which you can leave playing and it sounds like someone is playing piano for you in the room! You can also play along if you know the music! It's a good package deal. It comes with a beginner keyboard book (not piano) which is no use to me but I'm sure would help someone at least with some basics if they needed. The stool is sturdy and it took my husband just a short time to put the stand together for me. It is such a treat to have this piano! Don't hesitate... get it! EDIT: I have now managed to record from the piano to my computer. I first tried to get the music that I had recorded on the keyboard onto the computer via the USB slot (cable same as one I had for a Printer). I managed to transfer the file onto the computer but could not find a programme to open the music file. Having searched on the internet many people also have this problem. You can download a programme from Casio which transfers music into the 'casio' format to hear via your keyboard but not the other way round! That seems bizarre! Anyway, I read about an alternative way where you play the piano real time into your computer programme which is what I'd thought I would have to do anyway. I use Audacity to edit music so I bought a cable that goes from the back of the keyboard (Dual TS Cable to 3.5 MM) into the Microphone slot on your computer. (Another problem.. my big laptop only has one slot which is dual headphone/microphone so when I tried to record the sound quality was awful! Apparently you can buy a USB port which has both the microphone/headphone - input/output for just a few dollars. I have an old mini-laptop and that one had both slots. I had Audacity on that one and after playing around with the recording levels have managed to record a nice-sounding piano piece from my piano to the computer!)

This is the second Casio Privia we have purchased. The first was the older model- the PX-150. We bought it used for a piano student of mine. We also own a Yamaha Clavinova that we bought new back in 2007, as well as a Kawaii Accoustic Grand Piano. I teach piano in Luanda, Angola, and we have imported keyboards for my students. We bought Yamaha Piaggero's and I have been mostly pleased with them for the price we paid, plus the size was easier to put on the airplane (76 keys vs 88 keys). The Piaggero's were less than half the cost of the Privia's, but they also did not come with a cabinet, bench or pedal, nor were they full size. The most important thing, though, is that the Privia is an absolute pleasure to play. I love that it is a full-size keyboard and the touch is amazing! The keys on the PX-150 and PX-160 are textured and feel exceptional to play on. The touch is great--very responsive! We bought the PX-160 for our 22-year-old son for his birthday last month and I spent quite a while playing on it. To have a keyboard in a cabinet-type structure is great as it provides a lot of stability when playing big classical pieces. I can get the full range of sound from very soft to very loud easily as I play, which makes playing the piano with emotion so satisfying. I love the three-pedal assembly, which is attached to the keyboard cabinet. No more "chasing" the pedal as it slides away! If the Casio Privia XP-160 had been available back in 2007, we would never have spend the money that we did on the Yamaha Clavinova. I think they play equally as well, though the Clavinova makes a "furniture" statement that the smaller, more spare, cabinet of the Privia, does not. However, the keys on the Privia feel much better to my fingers than the keys on the Yamaha, though it may be that newer Yamaha digital pianos also have textured keys, these days. Not sure about that. All in all, I am extremely pleased with the Casio Privia PX-160 and would not hesitate to purchase it again, should the need arise. It was well packed for shipping and arrived in perfect condition. It did not take long for my husband to assemble everything and it went together easily.

Our daughter will soon begin her first year of piano lessons. We wanted an affordable digital piano that has authentic sound. We love this Casio! It's compact, easy to assemble, the bundle comes with everything a new player needs. We had no problem with it so far - it arrived in perfect shape, all keys play like they should and the instrument was approved by my daughter's piano teacher, who has 30 years experience in the business. We love the headphone jack (although headphones are not included in the bundle), the lesson book that gets you started even before the formal lessons begin. Our daughter also enjoys listening to the 60 pre-recorded pieces, that has all the popular classics (e.g. Fur Elise). Overall, terrific piano at a great price. Highly recommend this product.

This Piano is AMAZING. I was worried about the price because I was buying it for my daughter who has taken an interest in the piano. This did not disappoint. The sound quality is amazing, I have set many nights just letting the piano play as a sit and enjoy it.

I purchased this piano for my children (ages 7 and 9) as a beginner piano because they just started lessons a couple of weeks ago. It is an excellent piano for beginners, the keys are weighted just enough, the sound is great, and it is easy to assemble. Again, perfect for beginners-advanced players. Obviously it's not concert quality or a masters level piano but neither is the price! I'm certain this piano will fit our needs for many years to come.

I have never played piano before so I dont have anything to really compare to. However, I bought this for my children to take lessons on and their piano teacher was very impressed. The overall quality is very good. The entire package came in undamaged condition (I was worried from other reviews). The stand went together easily and is very sturdy. The overall appearance is attractive and sleek. The sound coming from the built in speakers is also very good and more than adequate for practicing and lessons. I myself began playing with an online piano course and am really starting to like this piano. This was a big purchase for us, but I think it was well worth it.
