Call me old fashioned, but I much rather sweep our deck, porch, and steps with this handy and well-made broom than listen to the abhorrent noise of a blower. It even looks attractive. It was well packed and delivered promptly.

This broom is as well built and thick as it looks.I got it for kitchen use but in all honesty it's too beefy for that. This thing is truly industrial. The grip is awesome fitting due to the thickness but the broom overall is too big for use in a small and busy kitchen. I will be loving this for the garage and outdoors use. The item was as advertised in the description, arrived in the correct time frame and was shipped well and all intact upon delivery. When the price is right, Amazon is my number one “go to” for almost everything. The Prime membership is (a lifesaver sometimes even) well worth it and the fact you can keep things in the cart until the price drops makes it a huge shopping tool. Thank you.

Even though I have a vacuum, I often use a broom. For the past 25 years, I've had synthetic brooms. They were ok, but I missed the strength of a corn broom. Why did I wait so long to get one? It slipped my mind, except when I was sweeping. But I have one now, and that's what's important. The only "complaint" I have it that this is a tall broom. I'm currently 5' 4-1/2" and this broom is a little stretch. So, I wouldn't recommend this for a very short person, but other than that, it's perfect.

For all you people out there still using those wimpy plastic brooms that don't actually sweep anything, this is what's known as a "real" broom. It's a broom like mom used, like grandpa used in the shed, like I used when my kids were little. It's wide, it's heavy-ish, it's got FIVE rows of strong stuff holding all those corn stalks together. This is the real deal. Did I mention it sweeps, and I mean it sweeps EVERTHING and puts it in its place. You will never need another broom.

Love this broom. Well crafted and it sweeps better than the ones I was getting before. The handle is stout, the bristles are full and effective, and it is likely to outlast lesser brooms. Similar to buying a quality tool; it gives pleasure with each use. I tend to store it either hanging, or with the bristles up, so as to not bend the bristles out of shape. Wish it was available locally, so I did not have to recycle the big cardboard box. Good product! 5 stars.

Good for kitchen or porch, a nice handsome broom that should stand up to good use. Tall, thicker shaft, if thats what you prefer. Maybe dancing with the broom works better with these! Love the black handles and lacing. O-Cedar has made reliable corn brooms for a long time. These days plastic bristles are the norm, but I still prefer corn brooms. I bought two, one for each of my daughters. It is said that before you use the broom inside the home you should do a little sweeping air dance with it outside and "sweep" the good luck and wishes into the home. Then use it inside. A little folklore advice if you will. And do not sweep after dark, to avoid inviting bad juju. I do believe these brooms would look perfect in the kitchen corner with a little crochet lace if one wants some "feminizing" added. Blessings and best wishes to all who love an old fashion style broom!

Wow, who would have thought a broom could be worth reviewing? This puppy is some broom! Substantial, springy, balanced, and, hey I'm a little embarrassed to say so, but actually fun to use. Go ahead, replace that old sucker you've got now with this one and you too will be pleased. Whoever made the Harry Potter comment got it right. Enjoy.

I'm tired of cheap discount store brooms. Some of them sweep well enough, but cheap aluminum handles never last long. I went through two or three last year -- more than the purchase price of this O-Cedar beast. There's nothing flashy about this broom. Your grandparents used something similar. It's just -- built. The corn straw is dense and even. The stitching and wire neck reinforcement are overkill. The handle is even more substantial than in the product photos. It's nicely lacquered, smooth, and suitable for double duty as a melee weapon if you find yourself accosted while sweeping sand and dog hair, our default floor covering in these parts. Prepare yourself for shedding season, the unidentifiable gunk kids track in through summer vacation, and civil unrest. Choose this broom.

I enjoyed the other reviewers who've written so effusively about this broom, and can now say I share the enthusiasm. This broom is solid, well-built, gorgeous, and made me, too, want to go around sweeping things. I think it's because the darn thing is just so well made, and you just don't see that anymore. It's like a broom your grandma and grandpa had in the house back in the day that they used for the kitchen, the back porch, the shop, and the occasional light-hearted swat at wayward youths. It's definitely not something you hide in a closet. Very happy with this purchase.

I don't think I've ever spent this much on a broom (on Amazon it's not much, actually), but I sure can tell the difference between this O-Cedar Broom and pretty much every other broom I've owned. This one is about 15% larger than your average drug store broom (longer handle, wider and taller bristles) and it's really solidly built. I got this for my husband's art studio where he works in plaster, and he's thrilled. He says this broom will be more thorough in cleaning up the plaster dust along with everything else. If you love this style of broom, don't bother with any other brand.
