Results speak for themselves.
Attached is a before after results of the speedtest that I ran in the wifi dead zone. Enough said. Cheers.

Works great, easy set up.
Could barely get a signal in my garage, now with this extender I have an excellent connection. Set up was easy, literally push two buttons and it's done.

and this one seemed great for the price
I don't typically write Amazon reviews, but I feel this warrants one. My modem and router are kept downstairs, and my upstairs study is an almost complete dead zone, I'm lucky to get above 1-4 Mbps, while other rooms get 20-25 Mbps. I researched wifi range extenders, and this one seemed great for the price. It arrived a day earlier than planned, and after 5 minutes pairing it with my network, it was plugged in and working perfectly. My computers now average about 22-24 Mbps in my study, which has a huge effect on my productivity and general enthusiasm for life. A few notes: It does not have a cord, it plugs directly into an outlet like a nightlight It automatically creates a new network named yournetwork + "_EXT" It's smaller than I thought, about the size of 3 stacked packs of post-it notes If you use your internet everyday for school or work, slow speeds speeds can be detrimental. This completely fixed the issue for me. The most $20 has every improved my life. Other more expensive models probably have some features this doesn't, but if you just want to fix dead zones for not much money, this is the answer.

Amazing! Would give 6 Stars if I could!
Oh man, I am over the moon about this product. My bedroom is the basement of the house, so the wifi just barely reached, and has a very weak signal. This extender is a life saver. It took maybe 2 minutes to set up, the hardest part was getting it out of the box! It amplifies the signal perfectly, and I find that it actually makes my wifi faster, as less people are using it! HouseWifi is my normal wifi signal in my room and the HouseWifi_EXT is the extenders wifi signal in my room. Look at the difference! I will be convincing my family to buy these for the farther parts of the house. In love!!

Will provide all the speed you need, and most likely afford.
This works for Comcast systems 2016+ Yes it will go to 345Mb.. .IF that speed is offered and you have many $$$ to pay for that speed per month. This brought my "FREE double speed upgrade" to 175Mb down. My older router could only do 70Mb. This is just a cable modem. Not any wireless. This will allow for ONE Ethernet connection. If you want multiple computers and any wireless, you need to buy a separate wireless ROUTER. You need an Ethernet wire from this Modem to that Router. How far apart those two are depends on where you can run that physical Ethernet cable around the house. That router plugs into this modem and can allow as many wired Ethernet connections as you wish. If the Router you buy has 5 Ethernet outlets and you need more then 5, plug in a Hub, and even a Hub can be plugged into another Hub. The wireless speed will depend on the Router you buy as well as the download speed you pay you ISP. The faster the speed, the more $$ per month. You can't get a 1700Mb Router and pay your ISP for 25mb down and expect blazing fast speeds. Wireless speeds also depend on your PC/Laptop, a dual core processor can only process so much and older laptops/PC may have slower G or AC wireless adapters. New USB wireless adapters/cards can upgrade your wireless speed, but you are then limited by the USB speeds or PC BUS speed. My Intel I5 with an SSD and 6Gb memory runs amazingly fast and downloads like a wired PC. Yet a single core Intel laptop is pretty slow on the same wireless network.

Works Well, Now Have Strong Signal Throughout Apartment
I live in a large apartment, the modem is in my bedroom and the signal in the living room is strong enough to be reliable so use an extender. When the one I have had for a few years died, I ordered this one to take its place. There were many to choose from, but I chose this one because TP-LINK is a brand I trust. The extender was easy to install and was soon up and running. I now have a very strong signal in the living room and throughout the apartment. Based on my experience, I recommend this extender.

I use this with my Time warner cable service. ...
I use this with my Time warner cable service. Setup was simple; unwrap and plug in. You do have to call time warner and get through their automated service and actually talk to an agent. They will ask for the make and model, serial number and mac address.

Excellent Router that Punches Well Above its Price Point -- Buy It
I found this router through a third party website review (the Wire Cutter), that aptly called this, "the Best Wi-Fi Router (for Most People)." I would probably amend that title and say, "the Best Wi-Fi Router (for Virtually Everyone)." Do not let the low price fool you into thinking it's an entry level or low-end model. It only costs around $100 but, from my observations against four other routers that cost considerably more, it performs well beyond its price point. I have purchased a number of routers over the years as the technology and performance improves, and the number of devices my family uses has increased. Over the past few years, I had migrated to the more expensive ($300+) routers in the hopes of greater performance. Right before this, I had an Asus RT-AC5300, a beast of a router that exceeded $400 when I bought it. But what I found was that as the price point goes up, the performance does not, and the reliability goes down. These expensive routers tend to be buggy and drop connections; they simply have too many features and are way too complex, all to provide functionalities that no one uses, or that none of your connected devices support anyway. The ASUS got so bad it was rebooting itself every few hours. The days of the rock-solid Linksys WRT54G seemed long gone... So I returned the ASUS RT-AC5300, gave my WRT1900ACS to a friend, and bought an Archer C7 (v2). After two weeks of testing it, I have four words: it just works -- period. The signal is strong and punches through the lathe-and-plaster walls of my nearly 100 year old house. Its signal is considerably stronger than the WRT1900ACS that I had (which cost almost three times what this one did), and rivaled the signal strength of the $400 ASUS. It doesn't drop connections, doesn't reboot itself, and delivers a strong and steady stream of data to all devices, wired and wireless. Only one word of warning; you need to make sure the Archer C7 that you purchase is NOT a first version. Everyone on the web has reported that TP-LINK badly botched the V1, especially for Macintosh/Apple devices (which is most of my house); most of those should be out of circulation or in landfills by now. The one I bought from Amazon was a V2, and it works perfectly with all of my Apple and non-Apple devices.

FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T GET THE TL-WDN4800 TO WORK...
FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T GET THE TL-WDN4800 TO WORK... i spent 8 hours on the phone with TP-link support trying to get the driver to install, tried safe mode, bios setting changes, changing PCIe slots, etc and it just would not connect to the internet, and would not update to the current driver. Then i found a YouTube video and through pausing and zooming, noticed the driver that was being installed for this card wasn't TP-link driver. It was "qualcomm Atheros AR938X" driver. So i downloaded that driver and BOOM it works perfectly. Its because the wireless chip is qualcomm atheros and the TP-link drivers aren't up to date i assume. Either way, if you are having trouble with the driver (it installs but will not connect to the internet), search for "qualcomm atheros AR938x driver" followed by your OS (windows 7, 8, 10, etc) and it will work. Mind blown that TP-link support didnt suggest this, but YouTube for the win. Super happy now :)

FINALLY! WIFI everywhere!
This is by far the best WIFI extender I have ever used. I have a multi level house and wifi is challenging. Full signal in some parts of the house and in others,..there is none. I have tried MANY MANY wifi units similar to this. I'm very tech savvy and pride myself in figuring stuff out with out directions. However, that is very different with some wifi extenders. They are complicated to set up and do not work good at all. I had good luck with the TP-Link light sockets with the echo and setup was a breeze. So I decided to take one more shot at yet another wifi extender. Choosing the TP-Link in hopes it would work just as good. I really don't understand these other reviews that state how hard it is to set up. This wifi extender is truly easy to set up. This is what i did,....Quick instructions right on the side of the box. Plug in the TP-Link, close to your router, the green light flashes, press the WPS button on your router, then press the signal button on the extender. The green light flashes, goes solid green, goes solid red then after 5-10 seconds the light stays solid green. The unit is now paired with your router. Now, Unplug the extender, walk to a midway point in your house close to the dead spot and plug it back in. It will blink green again, then solid green, then solid red, 5-10 seconds it turns solid green. Open any device you want to use for wifi, go to wifi settings and find your wifi name. Except the word _EXT will be after the device name. So if your normal wifi is GOOBER616 for example. It would now show as GOOBER616_EXT, Choose the Ext one and enter your normal password for wifi, and BOOM, FULL wifi signal. I now have wifi in every room in the house. If you plug the unit in and the light stays on solid yellow? Then move it to another socket closer to the router. Hope this helps anyone who has or has had a problem.
