Effective and easy, but a terrible way to make cake pops

This device is as close to "plug-and-play" as anything I've ever bought and feared. We went to a regular grocery store, bought cake mix off the shelf, and it took less than 10 minutes before I had pretty round balls coming out of this. My batches took 5.5 minutes, and it works just great. Here's the thing, though. This cake pop fantasy came from a book my 7yo daughter brought home from school. That book gives a recipe/method for cake pops that seems way easier than this apparatus. They suggest making a ton of cake, mashing it up, and mixing it with cake frosting. After a while in the fridge, I have to believe that those cake pops are easier to spike and decorate than what comes out of this VonShef deal. Anyway, the only really bad things about the item I'm reviewing are the terrible instructions and the fact that the bottom half of the device gets HOT and stays hot for a long time after unplugging it. It actually suggests not putting it on your counter because the non-stick feet could melt. Bottom Line: This is cheap, and it really works well. Outside of a small issue that any educated buyer could avoid, this is a good way to make cake pops that probably won't come out that well.

This was difficult at first to get the amount of batter right when adding it to the vonshef but after some practice it all worked out beautifully. I have customers who rather the texture of cake balls made with the cakepop machine. I don't blame them kids tend to like either one equally. But the beauty of this is that it makes my life so much easier. I knocked out 60 cake pops in less than an a half an hour and that is amazing. If you are serious about your cakepop life I would definitely recommend this. Also for cake mix recipes just replace amount of water needed on the back of the box with milk and omitt the oil. It's really easy and I fill a piping bag and snip off the end when I'm ready to fill the machine. *** they do make a slight ring around some if you over fill that can easily be remedied if you take a toothpick or BBQ skewer and just use it as a file to take of the rough edges after the ball has cooled slightly. It works for me hope it helps everyone else!

This is very easy to use and pops out beautiful pops in no time at all! My friend also has the same one and we get together and make a ton of pops together! Wonderful tool!

A GOOD GIFT

This was a gift to my great nieces who absolutely loved it. They had a blast making and decorating cake pops for Christmas. It was so much less time consuming for their Mom, who loved it for that reason. It seems to be a good purchase.

Cute lil gadget, this will be fun!!

I really don't know what star to give this gadget.... it's cute (matches my black/red kitchen), it heats up VERY QUICKLY! It arrived quicker than expected! I think this is going to be fun.....oh wait!! Didn't receive ties/bags, smh! But still happy for my cake pop maker!
