Update: I got a new bible for Christmas with a thickness is 2.2 inches and a width is 6.7 inches (instead of 6.5). The cover handles this size nicely as well. Very nice cover. I have the hard back version of the NIV Study Bible with dimensions of 6-1/2" wide x 9-1/2" long x 1-7/8" thick. It fits perfectly and is snug in the cover. There is a pencil holder inside and a mesh pocket that can hold more pencils/pens/narrower highlighters and the cover will still zip closed with no problem. The cover is faux leather but still looks great. The handle stitching looks think and sturdy. I'm very pleased.

Bought this Bible cover for my teenage son. He loves it. Quality product. Protects his Bible and he can carry pen/pencil and put papers in it instead of in his Bible which is hard on the binder.
