After reading so many negative reviews for this product I felt the need to give my opinion. I have a year old shitzu/Maltese mix. He was very aggressive with nipping and chewing. I went through 2 training series to no avail. I was walking around with scabs and scratches on both arms. My neighbor told me about this product and had used it to control barking. I figured I had nothing to lose so I ordered a can. In one use my dog completely stopped nipping and biting. I know this sounds crazy but it really worked. If he starts misbehaving all I have to do is pick up the can and he stops. I would recommend this product for anyone having behavior problems with their dogs.

I cannot recommend this stuff enough!!! I have FIVE dogs and they all bark excessively when someone approaches the house, sometimes turning into them all howling. ONE quick burst from this and a "NO BARK!" from me, and they stop immediately. Another one of dogs barks as I am preparing their food. I corrected with this product ONE time and he has not barked once since then. I bought one can to try it out, but within 24 hours, bought the big package, so I have them all over the house. My next test is to take one on our walk to deter them from barking at other dogs (two of them do that). I wish I would have found this stuff years ago!

My pup is 2.5 years old, 77 pounds of muscle, very friendly, and full of excitable energy. We live in the city, and she gets very excited whenever she sees another dog - she starts barking, jumping up and lunging. Takes all my strength to hold her back, but I was worried one of these days she might drag me into the street or pull an arm right out! She just wants to meet the other dog and play, but she acts like a wild animal. Anyway, I bought this small can about a week ago, not expecting much. The next time I walked her, as usual we ran into another dog and owner, and she started lunging and barking. I used the spray and said No forcefully - the hissing sound startled her so much her big round eyes got about 10 times bigger. That expression was priceless - she just looked at me like what the heck was that! She plopped her butt on the ground and stopped - like magic! It's been a week, and I have used this spray may be 4 times so far, and already our walks are 99% better. We have even walked by homes where a dog was hanging out in the front yard, and she stayed calm. This morning we hit the trifecta - as we are walking down a neighborhood street, one dog sitting at the window of their house was barking, another dog in the front yard was barking, and a third neighbor was walking his 2 dogs at the end of the street, all at the same time. Normally my dog would have gone berserk, and she was about to get back on her hind legs. Today all I had to do was barely a mini spray, and she stopped, put herself down, and walked on by, slightly whining in protest. So far this has been a lifesaver. I will continue using, and I am hoping within another month or two she will be trained enough that I don't have to carry it in my pocket on every walk. Once the lunging/jumping is fixed, I might use it to address other issues, like occasional excessive barking. It says to use this to correct one problem issue at a time. I did buy some additional cans, just in case, for use in future - it's been a life saver.

I can't say enough about this product!! My dog has been on 4 different prescription meds to try and chill him out to stop his nonstop barking and biting when anyone gets near me. He's an older dog I rescued from abuse. I wish I'd have known about this sooner. It'd have saved me hundreds of dollars between doctor visits and prescriptions. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! I just ordered another can but I'm pretty sure him just seeing the can will be enough of a deterrent for him not to bark and bite.

The sound of compressed air stops dogs in their tracks. Nothing else seemed to keep our Shih Tzu from barking and the high-pitched noise she makes is ear-piercing, unpleasant, and wearing on our patience. We are all happier! I purchased small cans, which can be concealed easily, making its use unexpected but effective. Like all training aids, I have found if it is used consistently in conjunction with a voice command—i.e. “no barking!”—it is an excellent means of correction.

I knew my dog had good manners in there somewhere, she just didn’t uunderstand the word “no”. But when “no” was spoken in the form of a whisp of air from this magic red can, she understood perfectly. I used this exactly four times and ended her problem of jumping up on me and everyone else. Also ended the problem of putting her paws up on furniture and scratching it. Seriously, I only had to do it four times. I didn’t even need a two-pack. The success depends totally on how your dog feels about the sound it makes. My dog tuned right in; my daughters dogs ignore it completely. But it’s absolutely worth the try. If your dog responds, he can be trained, and fast. I’m getting compliments like “you’re such a good trainer!” That’s laughable, as I’ve never been able to stop her from jumping in several years! The good trainer is this magic red can, not me! But seriously, you love your dog. You’ll love her more with great manners. Try it!

I own a 2 year old pit mix that is very sweet but has anxiety and tends to be easily excited. She is very strong and walking her on a leash used to be a nightmare. New people walking into my place used to result in constant jumping. I was working with a trainer who helped me start to use a sort of low growl as a correction for getting in my personal space, approaching people without being invited, and leash pulling. It worked great, but it was hard to be consistent with the sound, and every time I tried to convince strangers to do it so she wouldn’t jump, they’d look at me like I had three heads. I try to hide the spray bottle and spray towards her direction but not directly at her if she’s doing the wrong thing, and make sure to give her lots of praise when she’s doing the right thing. It’s important to praise correct behaviors if you’re going to use this as a correction so you don’t wind up just making your dog fearful. I do recommend reading on training before using this spray, but if you know what you’re doing, it’s a lifesaver! I went from having a dog literally knocked me over when I was walking her every time another dog passed, to having a dog who looks at me calmly when a dog walks by as if to ask “can I go say hi”? I barely use the spray anymore - if it’s not on hand, I make a short hissing sound and she knows right away that she’s getting a correction. I would recommend this highly for anyone having problems with pulling or jumping on guests! It’s also great to keep near the door. One of the things we practiced was having someone ring the doorbell, I’d spray, and I can now open the door calmly without fearing she will jump on my guests. I also typically hand one to my guests who are afraid of dogs and tell them they can spray towards her but not directly at her if she comes too close or starts to lift her paws off the ground - it’s nice for easing their minds, and typically in a few minutes she’s lying at their feet asking for belly rubs, and they forget all about their fears. Amazing product if used properly! As an animal lover, I highly suggest only using this as a correction and NOT a punishment or you may make your dog fearful. I will continue to keep these all over my house, but am using them less and less as she learns.

Follow the instructions and this really works. Don’t know why one review said it had a scent? There is no scent. It’s just compressed air that makes a hissing sound. It distracts and gets your dogs attention so you can change the behavior. Between this correction and rewarding good behaviors, training is really easy. My dog would bark when someone came to the door. That’s fine but I don’t want him barking and jumping for 5 minutes after the person is in the house which was what he was doing. This has totally changed his behavior, he is a different dog. I wouldn’t over use it or the dog will become desensitized. Short burst does it. Reviews said they only got 5-7 sprays per can. Either a defective can or they were really long sprays. I will always have this on hand but I don’t think I’ll need it. My dog sees it and I don’t even have to use it.

I had horrible issues of two of my three dogs beginning to fight and escalated to me being bit and drawing of blood. Me AND the two dogs. I tried EVERYTHING. I was told by a trainer to try this product out. I think it took approximately 3-4 days and all THREE of my dogs now play together, sleep near each other, etc. The trick for me, I caught them just MILI-SECONDS before I could see a fight starting to happen, (hair raising, posturing), and I'd shoot a burst of the air out and they cowered instantly. I think I did this maybe 2-3 times?? You don't spray it AT them, just hit the trigger. The noise is more than enough. Oh, and I've tried the type you buy in the stores, for computers, etc. They are not the same and doesn't work. I don't know its the tone or what, but this dog corrector, for ME, gave me peace in my home again. I just started working on a barking problem with one of my dogs, who is a yapper. She's already learning. I don't do it TOO often, just because you don't want them to become immune. Great product, highly recommended and I'm a 100% advocate of it. It literally saved my peace of mind.
