Great Clarity - Quality - Highly Recommend
Cable Matters (2-Pack) USB to Stereo Audio Adapter for Windows and Mac Highly Recommend this product. I am extremely happy with these. I have difficulty hearing the sound on my laptop, even with the volume all the way up, and headphones plugged in. The clarity these little USB to Stereo Audio Adapters brings to the audiobooks, music and everything else I listen to is wonderful. With these, I only need to turn the volume 1/4 up on my speakers now, in order to hear everything, even background noises in movies that I never heard before, and I am really impressed. I can't speak to the microphone part because I don't use it, don't have a reason to. Whenever I need or want an electronic add-on I come to Amazon, and go first to Cable Matters to see if they have what I am looking for. So far, they have had everything I need. Quality is top notch, pricing is more than competitive, and on the very rare occasion that I've had a problem with an order, they have gone out of their way to make sure I was happy and satisfied with either a replacement or a refund. Today there are many companies, and many people shopping and it gets to where you feel like you're just another number, but I have never felt that with Cable Matters. They care about each individual customer and want you to be happy with your purchase.

This amp boosts the audio and works great with the headphones and mic combo
I bought this to use with my PS4's (Slim and Launch version) but you NEED a usb extension cable since this is too wide to fit on it's own. I'm using this with my Philips SHP9500m and VModa Boom Mic Pro. The audio from the PS4 controller was not loud enough for these headphones. This amp boosts the audio and works great with the headphones and mic combo. Audio quality sounds very good, I tested the amp on a hifi setup and for a $5 amp this sounds crystal clear. No popping, no cutting out, solid build quality (tried to take one apart to see the electronics inside and it was NOT easy to open, even with tools.

Love it! Had purchased a new laptop earlier this year and could never get the headphone jack to work, especially after a Windows 10 update. Got tired of call support and having to spend hours on the phone to get the headphones to work through the jack port, so thought I'd look for a pair of USB headphones but wasn't really wanting to have to use the big earphones. Then I saw this item and thought for $10 I'd try it. Worked like a charm right out of the package! Just plugged my earbuds in and plugged the adapted into a spare USB port. Sound is good and I have one for home, one for travel. And way cheaper than a new set of earphones!

Great for the price!
I was having trouble with crackling noises in every headphones I used, and finally figured out that the problem was in my headphone jack, this adapters fixed my problem. I don't really know much about sound, but for me these work really great. I hear my music clearer and louder with them.

Works as advertised. No drivers needed. I hated trying to reach back behind the computer to plug my head phones in. And my new tower had the front port in an inconvenient spot too. I tried using an extension cable just to keep on the desk and plug in there as needed, but the system doesnt recognize that its an extension cable and not a real headphone. To it, somethings plugged in. And hence, it mutes the regular speakers. Thus fixed my issue super easy. Even works in a USB hub and not directly plugged into the tower.

Exceeded expectations
Decided on these for adding sound to an old server motherboard being re-purposed as a desktop after being unable to find a decent pci-e soundcard at a reasonable price. Was NOT disappointed! Linux Mint picked it up without any issue, and the sound quality is excellent. Highs, lows, and mid-range coming through clear with ZERO noise. I expected some small amount of noise or flaw in the audio quality, but was pleasantly surprised to find none. That said, I've only tried the one adapter. I see other reviewers have some complaints, but so far my experience has been perfect. Maybe I just got lucky and got a good batch. Maybe they were unlucky. Either way, for 2 at this price, it's worth the risk.

Restored Sound to my Laptop after Windows Jan 2017 Update Killed My Onboard Sound
I have been burned by a lot of fake reviews. However, the last Windows 10 Cumalative update from 10 JAN 2017 killed the sound and microphone in every last one (I have 3) of my HP G60 Laptops. The laptop I use for school needs audio so that I can watch class videos. So after trying every fix I could find online for no sound in Windows 10, I decided to try this USB Stereo Adapter. THIS SAVED MY SCHOOL LIFE. I just plugged it in and hooked up my external speakers and I had sound almost immediatly. For one, who can complain about the price? The sound quality is fine for what I use it for. It probably is not for high end audio philes but I am using it with my old Koss external amplified speakers and my MP3s sound adequate. You Tube and school videos sound decent also. I have only had it for a day. My laptop is an old HP G60 that used to run Windows 7 and I got the free upgrade to Windows 10. So these apparetnly work fine with Windows 10. I am giving it a 5 for price and ease of installation.

Does what it says it will do. A little "tall" so didn't fit using the USB port on the side of my keyboard which was kind of a bummer, but plug and play otherwise and sound worked well in Skype and other applications.

Works as expected to solve a small problem. I move my laptop between two docking stations, one at work and one at home. I wanted to leave the speakers in both but not use the docking station audio as it was not in a convenient location. These solved the issue, plugged them into the usb on the monitor and one is connected to head phones and the other connected to speakers. As the laptop moves each connects right up with no issue.
