Surprisingly good, even if you don't follow the directions!
We tried these last night, but we kind of 'broke the rules' a little bit, and to our surprise, they turned out quite yummy! The directions say you're supposed to bread and fry these bits, which reminded us a bit of thumbprint cookies in an odd sort of way... (that's a stretch...). Well, we were out of breading, and it was late at night, so we just decided to throw them in the cast iron skillet with some olive oil and brown them a bit. Once they were browned a little on all side, we threw in some already cooked egg noodles (just to warm them up, they were leftovers), and once everything was thoroughly mixed and heated through, we served it up. Here's where we took 2 different turns: We dished this up one way with pasta sauce and parmesan cheese (think: spaghetti). That was gobbled up in a flash! The 2nd option may sound strange, but it was LOVELY: We dished it up with Hidden Valley Ranch Cilantro Lime dressing, and freshly grated white sharp cheddar cheese. Goodness it was awesome! SO! If you're not a vegetarian (like me - I'm a meat eater), don't let that stop you from trying these. I've just given you 2 ways to eat them. :) And both are yummy! My vegetarian husband inhaled this dish (with pasta sauce) and my son and I (the non-vegetarians) loved these, too. :) Enjoy!

Vegetarian Meat Substitute
I love tender bits. I used to eat them all the time, but my picky (nonvegetarian) son refused to eat any meat substitutes and they are hard to find in the area I live. Recently my son has started asking to try more vegetarian meals. So, I found these on Amazon. He LOVED them! WIN!

Soooooooooo yummy!!!
I’ve been eating these for years and love them. Amazon has a better price than a local store in TX

They're so good I'm angry about it. I LOVE THEM!!!
Why aren't you eating these RIGHT NOW?! Stop reading and GET THEM!!! I have no idea why these little monsters are so delicious, but they have been an obsession for me since forever. I had these all the time as a kid, then the organic food store closed. I was devastated. When I saw them here years later I literally laughter-cried. They're nostalgia, yes, but they're also objectively tasty. Very salty, very chicken-y, with an almost spongy texture that is just so satisfying to bite into, almost like a roasted chicken soup got turned into a magical faerie mushroom. These and the hotdogs by the same brand are just fantastic. I'll eat them right out of the can until I make myself sick if no one stops me. Seriously, these are amazing. Not a replacement for real meat, but uniquely delicious.

So good, these are the best
So good, these are the best. Very tasty fried in a little butter and with some lemon squeezed on them, serve with rice. Easy and delicious protein.

Very tasty - batter them up & toss them in the deep fryer so cooking them doesn't take forever

Great shelf-stable fake meat
I like these because I can stock up on them. We generally eat frozen veggie burgers, but when we run out these are our go-to in-between shopping trips.

Very good
The Tender Bits are very good and have a nice texture, especially when tossed in flour and browned to slightly crispy. I've not tried it yet, but I believe these would also work well in a stew or in soup, although I would add them after the other ingredients were mostly cooked.
