I love it

Buy far one of the best boxes I have used . I like the fact it does not have that hole ch.3 &ch4 switch for the hole PBS thing . Easy to use and totally programmable to my television five stars all the way around is only one thing then I don't like the fact that you have to rescan the channels every time you turn the box on other than that everything's fine

This is an update to my original review for this item. As initially stated, the box is great and gave me access to a lot more channels. The only problem with the order was that the batteries in the remote were corroded. Since my original review, the vendor has replaced the remote and it works excellent. Great product great price.

When I bought this at first I didn't like it. I've had it now for about 2 months and the more I use it and learn the remote & functions the better & easy it is to use. I would buy it again and have told friends & family to buy one. Great Product !

Good choice

This is a darling little product - compact, easy to set-up and it does just the job I required. Having severed cable years ago and with a circa 1980s analog TV, I have been quite content to enjoy VHS or DVDs of desired programs rather than paying the ridiculous cable rates for a lot of commercials and virtually useless content. However, there are a few channels available on antenna TV that offer programs more in my area of preference and I thought I would give this rig a try. It was easy to set-up - just a coax from the antenna to the converter input and a coax from the output to the TV, a scan of channels using the included remote and suddenly I am in the land of Bewitched, Gunsmoke, the Rockford Files, et al. Admittedly much of this content is generational (just look at the demographics of the commercials) although there are local channels and PBS available via the antenna as well. The unit is unobtrusive, works well in my area (not too distant from local antenna farms) and I would have to say a good deal and performer for the price.

So far, it's working fine.

The only thing I would suggest you do if you buy this is to go to viewtv's website and download and install the firmware update.

Magic Box

Dish has dropped my CBS affiliate from their programming. I purchase this little box to pull CBS from the nearest station which is 25 miles away. I get a clear picture with full HD quality. Very simple and easy to set up and I am in a wheelchair and live by myself.

THE RECORDING FEATURE

I AM GLAD I ORDERED THIS. WORKS GREAT. THE BEST PART OF IT IS THAT NOW I CAN RECORD PROGRAMS AND FAST FORWARD THRU THE COMMERCIALS. GREAT PRODUCT. I WILL TELL OTHERS. THANKS SO MUCH

Great Product & Customer Service

I believe many of the bad reviews of this converter box are from people like me who aren't necessarily tech savvy. I ran into issues trying to get the Viewtv AT-163 installed. I called customer service. The man was both courteous and knowledgeable. Turned out it wasn't me but a defective box. A new one was at my door in a couple of days. My 80-year-old eyes had no problem following the printed instructions. Within minutes I was pulling in more than 40 stations with an outdoor antenna in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area of Western New York. Popped a couple AAA batteries into the remote and sat back watching off-air digital TV on my Neanderthal analog television set. Have not yet tried recording any programs. I am giving a 5-star rating for the product and the company's customer service.

This arrived on time. and works great! I have a VIZIO Smart TV. Apparantly Not Smart enough to pick up NBC Which Parted Company With there easy to find Local TV outlet in the Boston area. and set up operation on some Minor Channel Which The Smart TV couldn't find Along with 12 or 15 other Channels This AT-163ATSC Digital Converter Box Had No Trouble Finding. Giving me about 30 Channels That Equal or Surpass the first Two Levels of either Cable or Dish Company's Which charge what $15 to $30. a Month? Well worth the price The Picture Display is The Equal Of Either Cable Co. Which I also have access to. I Already have an Antenna set up so I really didn't need the Antenna and HDMI Cable but foe the extra $5. bucks why not? This is a Great Deal. I highly Recammand it.
