I liked it was a 2-in-1 and much easier for her ...
Bought this for my mom so she wouldn't have to pay to rent a modem as well as replace her ancient dinosaur of a router that was quite literally falling apart. I liked it was a 2-in-1 and much easier for her to understand the wires, etc. It also helped declutter the computer desk area! Yay for multi-tasking devices! Helped set it up for her and did have to call BrightHouse/Spectrum for them to connect to it but it was easy enough. Changed all the passwords and everything. She's good to go and a happy camper! I bought the mid-range model so she'd have room to grow when it came to speeds but right now she's on the snail's pace plan so I think she'll be good for a long while.

Great product and very easy to install
Works great easy to hook up, with xfinity all I had to do was sign into my account on my mobile device and follow the simple directions, I would say the complete set up took me about 10 minutes which included unboxing, hooking up all the connections and signing into my xfinity account. I noticed a big difference right away..no more lag while playing my Xbox 1 or while watching shows on YouTube.

SO FAR SO GOOD
I like this modem/router. I got tired of paying rental fees for the Comcast modem/router. I think I've bought their product about 8 or 9 times (one each year). I figure it's better to get my own and go with something less costly but still powerful enough for what I need. This router so far is great! I have no problems, and I stream video on Roku. I have three of these and sometimes use two at the same time along with three Tabs, two phones, and two computers. Many of these are running at the same time but not necessarily downloading or drawing off the WIFI. Still, I'm completely satisfied at this point with what I bought and the savings I anticipate over rental modem/routers!

Easy enough for a non-techy lady to setup
I'm a woman who does not claim to be tech-savvy at all. I hope this helps people like me. The instructions were clear and easy on this one. I chose this modem/wireless router combo (Archer CR700 aka "AC1750") because it was on the Comcast approved list and has great reviews on multiple sites. For those who don't feel it's clear enough, this is a modem (plugs into your internet wire from the wall) and your wireless router (connects your devices to the internet without wires) all in one, so you don't need a second device. You should read about having one device versus two separate, and decide what's best for you. To begin, you connect the device to the internet wire, plug the power cord in, turn it on, and wait for the flashing lights to turn solid. Then you follow the instructions to go to the tplink website, type in the username and password, and change to your own preferred username and password under the wireless options. Comcast's setup page popped up on it's own. It asked me for my username and password, my address, and that was it. I'm connected. So far all my devices (MacBook Air, HP PC, iPhone 7Plus, and Vizio tv) are all connected with no issues. Two options will show up on your list of networks to connect to for this device. Once has "5G" at the end. I read that means the first is a 2.4Ghz option and the second is a 5Ghz option. I've never seen this before so I read an article on it. Ladies, apparently the 5G one is faster and has less interference from other devices, so I left my devices connected to the 5G. I went to Google and did an internet speed test. Here are the results from my MacBook connected wirelessly: 2.4Ghz is 56.5 Mbps download, 11.6 Mbps upload 5Ghz is 145.4Mbps download, 11.6 Mbps upload (I ran the speed test a second time and got 70.3 and 11.6, respectively. Third time I got 137.7 and 4.44.) Ladies, apparently this is fast enough to have multiple devices and still feel like your internet is fast. Again, I'm not a techie guy, so these numbers don't really mean much to me. I pay for the internet speeds "up to 150Mbps", if that helps.

Fast, easy to set up, and fast!
This modem was very easy to set up for use on Mediacom. I think from the moment I had it plugged in and turned on, it was 4 minutes or less and I was connected. The modem is very fast with my Mediacom 200Mbs service. It has a wide area for Wi-Fi. My unit is in the basement and yet all devices connected with Wi-Fi upstairs never have a weak signal. And even though I have a brick house, the Wi-Fi is good outdoors, too. I bought this six months ago and it has consistently given excellent performance and won't take too long before it will have paid for itself by not paying a monthly lease to the IPS. This has been well worth the money. The admin page is well laid out and easy to make any changes, if you want to do that. I originally bought a modem router which I hate to say, but an Amazon technical person said would work with Mediacom, and then when I got it, found that Mediacom said it was on their do not buy list. Amazon was very good about the return and I bought this CR700 which is listed as very favorable by Mediacom. You can't go wrong with this product!

This gateway device is top notch!
I was having issues getting a wifi signal throughout my 1800 square foot home and out in the yard utilizing the Motorola Surfboard Gateway, of which I have had several models over the years. Motorola spun the SB line off to another company, and when it was time to change up my gateway device, this one stood out in price and in great reviews and, a question on Amazon specifically mentioned that it worked well with COX, my provider, so I gave it a shot. The AC1750 definitely earns the 5 stars I am giving it. I can sit all the way out by the street and watch my girls ride their scooters while I surf and shop on Amazon. Setup via the software wizard was a breeze. My setup is a bit advanced, as I do MAC filtering and utilize the 2.5 gig frequency for surfing and the 5 gig frequency for my media devices. I also utilize the guest network feature. The device has not failed me at all except when COX isn't sending it a signal, and I could not be more pleased with it. I expect a few years of great connectivity before the technology has changed enough that I will need an upgrade, and I will certainly look to TP-Link as a first choice when that happens. This is a great device! I am not getting paid to write this, nor am I getting anything in return for this review.

Couldn’t have asked for more.
This has changed my world! And it was the easiest part changing over my system. The mess of wires and all the smart devices I had to switch over was the hard and time consuming part. I get almost the same speed worries as I do wired. That bit was worth everything. It’s browser interface was super easy to use, too. I am only one person, so I didn’t need the 24x, so that save me a good amount of money right there. All I can say, is good riddance Apple Extreme!

so far so good
At first I was a bit reluctant to purchase the Archer 700 due to the high number of negative reviews. I've only had it for a couple days but so far it works great. Signal strength of both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks is excellent. I do have a small house and the device is in the attic since that is where my POD is located. Also I have a 3GB hard drive connected via the USB port. Even though it is only USB 2.0, all files are quickly and easily accessed on my PC and using KODI on the Amazon Fire stick. I will update this review if I run into problems later on.

Perfect if you need a working USB port on your Router
This works well with my high speed internet. Getting > 125 Mbs speeds for wireless. Most routers have USB ports that are not active. It took a while to find this router and discover that the USB ports work well. Just wish they were USB 3 ports. But no router has USB3 ports that I could find, that were also DOCSIS 3.0. The USB port is connected to an external hard drive and automated backups are working well. Granted a little slower than a wired NAS, but I couldn't afford a full blown NAS just yet. so this suits my purposes perfectly and now I'm off the monthly billy for a router with the cable company.

A well-built modem-router combo at a competitive price
Our internet provider upgraded the internet to high speed services earlier this year, so I had to replace my old modem and router to enjoy the new internet speeds. To save money by not buying separate modem and router units, I decided to find a combo modem-router. After researching for days, and bearing in mind about the suggestions that separate units of modem and router might perform better in some case, I decided to try this TP-link modem-router because of some very good reviews and a good price. Just like most home users that use internet for common daily uses (without complicated configuration for special networking needs), I have been using it for half year now, without any issue. It is basically plug-and-play, the only step that I needed to do apart from putting together the unit and the cables was to call the internet services provider and provide them with the MAC so that they could activate the new modem. It works pretty well, our internet runs at expected if not better speeds.
