Review for ZOZO 90W 15V-20V, Model PA-3900-Z, ASIN B0132ST35Y INTRODUCTION & WHY I BOUGHT THIS ------------------------------------------------------------- I am an independent computer handyman and occasionally I encounter a laptop with a power problem that may or may not be caused by a faulty power adapter. A universal power adapter is a good tool to have so that I can verify that a new power adapter will solve the problem before buying one for my client. Sometimes the DC jack in the laptop is faulty, and in one Lenovo IdeaPad it was apparently the power circuitry on the motherboard that had gone bad, preventing the power adapter from powering the laptop or charging the battery, though the laptop was able to run on the battery after I charged it by alternative means (I had eliminated the power adapter and the DC jack as the problem by replacing both). I looked at several universal laptop chargers before selecting this one, and there was not much to distinguish any particular brand. The features I wanted were: 90W capacity (both in case I need that much power, and so that it will have more robust components), a wide voltage range (many have a range of only 18V-20V, which may be all I'll ever need, but I don't know), and a wide variety of charging tips (this has 16, many have 12). I had no clear reason to select this brand except that it seemed popular. DESCRIPTION & TESTING (this does work on Dells) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The seller's descriptions and photos all match the unit I received. The unit is made in China. The build quality seems as good as any power adapter. It looks and feels solid. It came in a small, sturdy cardboard box with a hinged lid which I will use as a storage box to keep the adapter and its parts tidy (7.5" x 5.7" x 1.9"). The tips were in a small ziplock bag. The DC cord has a Velcro strap attached but the AC cord has only a twist tie. I added my own Velcro strap. The DC tips are imprinted with both the output voltage and with the M-number, which can be used to look up the tip in the reference table included in the box. The tips fit very securely on the DC cord using a 3-prong connector, and so far they have fit the laptops perfectly (as well as the originals). The power brick is about a typical size and weight for a cheap 90W adapter. It has a green LED to indicate that it is receiving power. The AC cord fits very securely in the power brick. It is 6ft in length, which is fine, but the DC cord is only 45 inches, which is rather short. I do not anticipate this being a problem for me since I will not be using this adapter often or long term, and so the inconvenience will be minimal. However, if you intend to use this unit as your primary power source, you may find the DC cord to be too short if you want the power brick on the floor rather than on the desk with the laptop. A benefit of the short cord for people like me, though, is that it will make the cord quicker to bundle up after use, and the unit easier to fit in my tool box. I have tested this adapter so far on an Acer Aspire M5, three different HP Pavilions, a Gateway NV79, and four different Dell Inspirons (15 2558 from 2016, 15R-5521 from 2013, 1545 from 2010, E1505 from 2006). I will continue to test it on laptops that I encounter and update this review if I run into problems. So far it has functioned perfectly, being able to power the laptops and charge their batteries. I have heard that Dell laptops often reject non-Dell power adapters. I do not know if this is true, but it is not true of this particular adapter. I have not had the opportunity to run this adapter at its full capacity to see how hot it gets. I did just stress test it on the Gateway NV79 (65W) I am using to compose this review, using OCCT's power supply stress test (which runs both the CPU and GPU at max stress to consume as much power as possible), while also charging the battery. I ran the stress test for 20 minutes with the power adapter sitting on a carpeted floor. It became quite warm, but not more than I was comfortable with, and not nearly what I would call hot. During normal, light use of this laptop, the adapter becomes only mildly warm. Keep in mind that if you have the adapter under blankets or other insulators, it will likely build up much more heat. Allow your electronics some ventilation. LOCATING POWER REQUIREMENTS LABELS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you do not see a power requirements label on the bottom of a laptop, check under the battery. One HP Pavilion had that information, as well as laptop model information, inside the battery compartment. PROS ---------- - Wide voltage range and tip variety. - Seems well constructed and plugs fit securely. - So far the adapter seems reasonably power efficient judging by the heat output (I have not tested a full 90W draw, however). - Includes a Velcro strap for the DC cord to keep it coiled up. CONS ---------- - The DC cord (the one that connects to the laptop) is quite short at under 4ft, but as a diagnostics tool this may be a benefit due to its compactness. - I would like to see a Velcro strap on the AC cord (only the DC cord has one - the AC cord has only a twist tie).

This product works well as described. For those who experience dimming laptops or charging at times and then stops and then begins again please check the current supplied by the tip/head of the charger. Each tip supplies a different current. This is what happened to me. When I first started I was using the wrong head that supplied a current not high enough to charge the battery therefore it charged with constant first few ties but afterward the battery would begin charging and dropping until I unplugged and replugged and played with it multiple times to get a steady current. I initially thought that I was using the right head by looking on the instruction manual but I was not. It was not until I contacted their awesome customer service and received a replacement did I look at the back of the computer. If you're experiencing a failure to charge your computer, look at the battery of your computer or the back panel. It should tell you what amount of current is needed to charge the battery. Don't just look at the manual. Best part is that even though I informed customer service of my error they let me keep the new replacement charger. So the product overall works great once I used the correct head and checked the current needed to charge my computer. Since there may be multiple heads that are the same that fits your charging port of the computer but will not provide sufficient current to charge your computer or may provide too much that could damage it.

I have used this charger with Dell Inspirion and XPS laptops. The 7.4mm and 4.3mm tips work great with the Dell laptops. This is the only universal charger that I have found the consistently works correctly with Dell 7.4mm and 4.3mm power inlets.

So I lost my charger for my laptop couldn’t find it anywhere thinking one of my kids borrowed it and forgot it was mine so I was looking for a new one in the mintime still looking for mine I searched all the local stores nobody had one for my laptop soon I look on Amazon and put in the brand name and the voltage of the computer and it brought this one up then I was looking at it and was worried if it was the one I needed so I told myself if it’s the wrong one then I can always return it when it got to my house I was surprised if only took two days to get here with standered shipping it got here before the date that was on my order it said date to arrive was between the thirteenth and the eighteenth so when it showed up on the eleventh I was happy then I opened the box and it was bubble wrapped everywhere I got scared when I seen all the little parts so I pulled everything out and there in the bottom of the box was the instructions clear and easy to read found the end I needed and plugged it into the computer first to make sure it fit then I plugged it into the wall hoping my laptop wouldn’t blow up and it worked great product and clear and early to read instructions thank you guys for a great product that does what it says it would do and not to mention a great price I saved about 75% what bestbuy wanted for the one they said would work on my laptop and they didn’t have it in stock.

ok fastest shipping very impressive and fantastic seller.A++++ Now about the product itself. I first used it a week a go at my college where you can rent one out and that is how i was first introduced to this company and product. The next day i ordered it from this seller and came in less then a week later. Maybe in a few days it came very impressed. Anyways y charger stopped working so that why i needed this. I couldev ordered the actual charger for my labtop HP 810 revolve however i wanted a higher Wattage so i got this. Pros- Works like it should. Charges the laptop VERY fast Lighter then my original charger Wires are thinner No to expensive MULTIPLE PINS Long Wires AC part and the DC part Cons- The pins i feel dont go in deep enough on the head of the adapter( i might be wrong) but i feel like that to me The wires feel a little cheap... they are almost identical to the AC power cords of a PS4. Thats is. Keep in mind the pros and cons are for the actual product. For the seller i purchased this from and all Pros very good company A++

I had previously asked how this adapter knows what voltage to output without a selector switch. I went ahead and purchased one to find out myself and the answer is: inside every tip is a resistor between 10 and 14 KΩ between ground and the third pin which signals the adapter to output the voltage printed on the tip. I couldn't measure accuracy under load, but no-load was close enough and half a volt difference at the 19v range isn't much of a deal. Under 45 watt load, it reached a temperature of 102 F.

I purchased this adapter about 10 months ago for use with 3 different laptops (2 different HP models and a Lenovo). The unit has worked great with all 3 machines, but about 3 weeks ago it stopped charging the Lenovo. I thought at first it was the adapter itself, but found it was just the Lenovo plug that was faulty. I emailed the seller and got a response later the same day indicating 2 replacement Lenovo plugs would be sent free of charge. About 2 weeks later I received the replacements and everything is now working as before. I have always been pleased with this product, but the excellent customer service is what prompted me to write this review. Highly recommended!

This charger has saved my laptop from dying on more than a few occasions. I have an older HP laptop that doesn't hold a charge all that well anymore, and I found it inconvenient to unplug the charger I keep behind my desk to take on the go. This solves both problems: I keep it in my backpack and it's easy to pull out whenever my laptop needs some juice. The velcro strap is convenient for keeping it wrapped, although I wish the strap were big enough for the bigger cord (I just use a rubber band for that). I've only tested the HP end but I'm confident it would work just as well for other brands.

Bought this charger as an emergency when I discovered some bonehead (me) forgot to pack one on a 2 week trip. Had it delivered overnight to an Amazon Locker near our hotel, much more reliable than depending on the hotel desk. This thing is surprisingly great. Smaller than my other charger, and one of the 16 supplied tips fit my VAIO perfectly. This just became my preferred travel charger.

Holy moly was I thrilled when I received this charger for my laptop in just two days 🙌 The price was terrific. A few days earlier I had bought one at pcrichard and they charged me $60. Of course I'm returning that one. The power cords on the PC Richards item... Very flimsy and thin 😱 However, this item here on Amazon... Very well made, thicker wiring, not flimsy at the connections. I won't have to worry about this one wearing out for a while 💕 Again super speeding shipping, a good price and a good product. Very satisfied 👍
