Fills the bill
Used the battery that it came with to replace a battery that was not chargingproperly. On the power a stand, that that battery charged from red to Green no problem. The battery that came with the controller charged properly on the old stand, from red to Green. Well done

we have been popping batteries like no tomorrow
This is a review of the PowerA Charging Stand (Black) for Xbox One. Summary – Since we purchased our Xbox One, we have been popping batteries like no tomorrow. I even decided to swap out to Energize Lithium in hopes it would curb the appetite of the controller. The lithium batteries did provide a longer duration of gaming, however, was expensive and not something I intended to continue. This is working AMAZINGLY well! While there was not much documentation, I have found a full charge can take approx. 2.2 hours. The battery it uses is a Ni-Mh 2.4V and is 1100maH. Our use of this will pay for the device in no time. I was also very happy when it arrived as it only weighs .6lbs and NOT 250lbs as listed in the product dimensions on the listing. While the reviews were up and down, we have not had any issues so far. We place the controller on top of the unit, press down and when the light turns to red-orange, we know it is charging. When it is green, it is fully charged and we simply push it down so it pops up and no longer charges. We have never found a dead battery when we went to use and this has been 100% reliable since we purchased. Notes – Does not come with a wall adapter. You will need to connect this to a micro USB power source. While typical pc-device USB ports will work, it would be much slower and I have mine connected to a typical 2 amp phone USB wall charger with excellent results. As with all my reviews, I will update this review should this develop any issues with ongoing use.

I love this stand, it's a great way to keep track of your controllers and fits nicely right next to my computer screen.

Works great
Works great and doesn't take up much space. Has light around the bottom to let you know you have the controller on right. Only thing I might say is.. if you don't pay attention, you might not seat your controller properly but.. that's a user issue not a product issue so...

Not bad
UPDATE: It's working just fine. I am not seeing any issues thus far. It's possible others received a defective unit or aren't using it properly. The thing where the base needs to be depressed and clicked into position to protect the contacts a little (I'm assuming) is kind of useless. The included NiMH pack works well, but I really wish it was a single cell lithium ion for my own reasons. Now, I see there are a ton of negative reviews, but the unit seems acceptable. I'll keep it unless it breaks within warranty/return period. Otherwise I will just repair and upgrade it in my workshop. I like it. It's of middle-upper quality, controller sits comfortably on the unit without forcing it or otherwise anything awkward. I'm using a 90° micro USB cable I already had to plug into the dock, the included cable is of mid quality. There is a sort of extendable function, where the main cradle click locks downward, likely to protect the contacts when not in use or for storage. Not really sure, but it's not important really. I'll be leaving it in 'charge' position for its entire service life most likely. Now, I have only had this for one day, so I cannot attest to the battery life, however I believe this battery is metal hydride chemistry. It's heavy. It will work fine, however, if your base stops working properly, you can't charge this pack. It's only chargable (practically speaking) through the contacts on the bottom of the pack. Yeah, you might be able to charge the pack with a home made adapter through the primary contacts, but it's going to be a PITA. I may take the casing for this battery and rebuild it with a lithium cell pack of my own design, and rewire the base accordingly with different solid-state. This is fine for me, as I'm an experienced electrical engineer, and really for $17 it's not terrible at all. Will update if the thing craps out. I treat all of my equipment, no matter how cheap, likes it's made of glass, so if it fails for me, then there's something wrong with the design or manufacturing process.

I love this thing
Positives first: 1) It has a tasteful LED that is red when charging, and green when fully charged. 2) You have to press the controller down to charge it, so no more of that "perma-charging" that other charge bases have, which can reduce your battery's life over the course of using it. 3) It can connect via USB for a cleaner look. Negatives second: 1) The top plastic that the controller rests on has a sheen that easily shows scratches. 2) The top plastic feels a bit wobbly at times, and is a reminder that one day the springs will break and press-to-charge functionality won't work properly. 3) They do not include a USB-to-Wall adapter for the charging cable, so if you want to spare the USB ports on your device you'll need to buy an adapter second.

Great Charger But Not Permanent
***UPDATE*** After 9 months of daily use, the charger finally stopped doing its job effectively. I began noticing the red light began blinking rapidly as if there were a shortage in the connection. Removing and resetting the controller ontop the charger would fix this but eventually even that stopped working. The last straw was last night. It began blinking when I finally decided to pick up the controller (it was still charging, red light, not fully charged yet). However when I picked up the controller my hand was burned almost by the intense heat of the battery pack. It's as if you left a metal object touching the battery contact. Extremely concerning and dangerous, the heat was very scary. If I were asleep what if it had exploded or caught fire? The charger is great for $20, I got about over 200 days of charge out of it, but be careful for these signs and dont forget this isnt going to last a lifetime. ***ORIGINAL*** I've used this for over a month now and have had no problems. Plastic feels a bit cheap but otherwise works flawlessly and hasn't had any problems. Just make sure your controller rests properly ontop and let it charge

Works perfectly, no problems.
I love this product. I was having problems with my controller as it's internal mechanisms broke and therefore charging cords didn't work because they couldn't hook into the right spots inside the controller, meaning the controller couldn't charge. The product saved me from having to buy a new controller, and answered all my problems. I love it.

Works with Elite controller--IF you remove the paddles.
I was very frustrated with this charger at first until I realized that it is really not designed for an elite controller. With the paddles left on the bottom of the controller, it is hard to make a good connection for charging. Pro tip: Remove the paddles from the bottom of your Elite controller and it works perfectly.

Best investment ever
Lets be honest I was replacing batteries every week, surely not cost effective. I opted for this even after reading some reviews that the charger doesn't really make contact with the remote. I have not had that issue you need to push down and make sure you hear it click that's how the red/green indicator light turns on. Obviously if its red its charging and green indicates full charge. Really the best investment I've made. I was hesitant because I wanted an XBOX official charger but could not find one, this works just fine. This a must have.
