I purchased this unit because of its features, namely 3 exhaust speeds speed, LED touch panel control, stainless steel construction and easily cleaned baffle filters. It also comes with a remote control. This purchase was part of a complete kitchen renovation. I am extremely pleased with the unit. It is quiet and efficient. I would recommend this unit for serious consideration for a new or replacement range hood. .

Excellent range hood -- solid, sleek, powerful. Now comes with an installation template, but IMO it's pretty useless. The problem is that the installation holes are fundamentally flawed, since the rear (wall) holes are set up to engage over bolt heads and drop into place -- which means there will always be a GAP between the wall holes and the top (cabinet) holes! The easiest way to fix this is to ignore the wall holes, bolt to the upper cabinet floor, and simply drill a couple of holes through the back steel panel into wall studs and send long drywall screws into the studs. Once done, it's rock solid. The 7 1/2" exhaust duct is also not standard. I connected it to an 8" duct by wrapping a layer of thin insulation around the 7 1/2" duct and securing it with metal duct tape, then fitting it into the 8" outlet. It took me perhaps 5-6 hours, including a trip to Home Depot, to install, but it looks great and is a fraction of the cost of comparable hoods.

Absolutely amazing quality. I was hesitant to buy online sight unseen, but I took my chances and I'm glad I did. I am super impressed with all the features this offers. No more smoke in the kitchen when I cook! The LED lights are absolutely beautiful and illuminate the food better than any single light bulb under the Hood ever could. Just one thing to keep in mind, this is not a hard wire, it's plug in. So if you purchase be sure you already have an outlet, or be prepared to have one installed.

I love the smooth operation of this range hood. It looks wonderful with our new range, the fan is quiet, the touch controls are a great feature. We had this professionally installed to vent through the roof and when the fan is on it draws any smoke and heat away very nicely. This range hood is heavy duty, it gives the appearance of a professional kitchen. I highly recommend it!

Upgraded from non-venting over the range microwave to Cosmo vent hood. The features of the Cosmo hood that attracted me were: 1. High suction power according to rating and prior reviews 2. Removable baffles that can be cleaned in the dishwasher 3. Clean style and rounded corners so I don't dent my forehead when leaning over the range or counter. Too early to give a full assessment of performance, but my smoke alarms are no longer going off when I stir fry, I can breath and see easily at the same time, I'm not seeing any oil buildup around the range, and visually I can see the smoke from the wok or frying pan going straight up to the vent. I have washed the baffles once already and they were easy enough to remove and reinstall.

I love my new range hood! It looks great and the edges are curved so no more bumping into pointed corners! My sons found this when I wanted a new range hood that was big and "makes a statement" but my husband wanted one that fit the same "footprint" so that he wouldn't have to change anything else about the range hood installation. This one satisfies both of us, plus it really blows out the smoke/cooking air very well. The range hood looks very nice and modern and I like the blue display which shows the time plus the light and fan speeds. I like the nice, washable filters, too. I don't really expect to need the remote control for this, but I've started leaving it at the table so that if I leave the range hood on and we're eating, I can turn it off from the table.

Absolutely everything its promised to be. Reduced the pipe diameter to 7" to make it easier to fit inside cabinets but I don't think it will affect airflow. Since it has dampers I used a 7" wall vent with birdscreen to outside wall. Low setting is better than high on almost anything else out there if you consider standard hoods and over range micros. High speed is more than you could likely need unless you burn dinner a lot. Its generally quiet at all speeds unless you do a poor job securing the vent pipes and allow them to vibrate against something along the way. Spend the time and get this part right. You will be glad you did. Overall VERY PLEASED. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. The build quality is better than the big box stores by a country mile and need I say it is hefty and solid. The remote is nifty but can't really say it is something I would ever use.

We’ve just installed this range hood ductless for over our range. It is beautiful, and will be a visual and functional addition to our kitchen. We bought it for its upscale appearance, but it also has very powerful suction and is easy to operate. Be aware that you will need to cut a duct-size hole into the bottom of the top kitchen cabinet to which it is mounted, which restricts the storage space in the top cabinet. We did have some confusion about the charcoal filters. Although the website stated we would have to purchase them separately, the instruction manual states that they are included. They are not, and have to be ordered directly from Cosmo by calling them at 888-784-3108 Monday-Friday 9-4PST. They are carbon filters #CFK5. Identifying the filter model number and locating from where to purchase the filter took a bit of sleuthing, but looking at the end results was well worth the time. This is a very sturdy unit and looks like it costs more than the $300 we paid.

Nice range hood - streamlined styling makes it easy to clean, powerful fans move enough air to keep the house from filling with smoke when cooking hamburgers and steaks in cast iron skillets over high heat. This is the third vent hood i have tried, and the first to actually work effectively. Came with a variety of mounting options and hardware, and I think one or two of the options would have worked, but instead I just used some long bolts and nuts and it worked great. Had to make a template out of newspaper for drilling the bolt holes. Including a template with the hood would be a nice addition but making one was easy. Maybe with three people you could hold up the hood and mark directly, but it was too heavy/awkward for two people to do reaching over the stove. The remote works good, but don't give the kids ideas about playing pranks with it. That backfired. I didn;t weigh it but this is a substantial piece - solid stainless and heavy fan motors. It is what you need if you are serious about cooking, but make sure you mount it good it is not a flimsy lightweight!

Our over the range Microwave died and we decided to replace with a powerful range hood as we do a lot of stir fry cooking and large amount of smoke is generated. Having read the reviews both positive and negative here, I was in 2 minds to buy this product. After thinking it over for a long time, I finally made the purchase. The price was right and the product was promptly shipped. I inspected the box soon as it arrived and I did not see any significant damage to the box. I proceeded to open the box carefully. As I started taking the parts out, I noticed that the bag of fasteners was open and all the screws were scattered at the bottom. There are lots of screws provided with this range hood and you end up with lots of extras. I assume it is for different ways to mount this product. I went to Home Depot to look for the metal clamp to secure the flexible duct which comes with the unit to the range hood outlet. The clamps are not provided with the unit. Alternatively you could use 3M Metal tape to secure them. The outlet is 8" which at Home Depot I was told was unusual for homes and I was not able to find the clamps. I first plugged the range hood in and ran it at different settings to make sure there was no issue. It ran fine at all the settings and so I proceeded with the installation. I drew a template using cardboard so I could mark the corresponding mounting locations on the bottom of my cabinet and pre-drilled all the screw mounting holes. The 30" range hood is heavy. Installation is definitely a 2 person or 3 person job though depending on the mounting location and how much space you get around it to get a good hold. You may also need to employ a cabinet lift jack or a vehicle floor jack. We had to go through and try different ways to get it in there but finally we have been able to mount it. Some of the videos on Youtube will help. The manual which comes with the unit is woefully inadequate. It needs clearer pictures and a complete rewrite. The access to the screw holes is tricky. Also if space permits, it would be best to put the screws in first and then lining up the screw head with the large holes, lift the hood in and slide it back in place and then tighten the screws. If your home is not setup to vent outside and you are not too handy, you may need to use professional help.
