I hate using the strap that comes in the camera box since it always comes on my way while using the camera. That's the reason I got this. I did some research about hand straps and end up buying this one. Must say, this is extremely high quality, and not only that, it's design is genius work. I must say, this is HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT and worth every penny. It won't be surprised to see it's price go up if the company ever decides to. There are 2 main things that makes this product unique and awesome. 1. You can adjust the strap depending on who's holding (hand size) very quickly, and 2. I think it is probably a patent design. It has a button like thing using which you can change from hand strap to neck strap is seconds. Must say, genius design !!

I know that side-straps for cameras aren't for everyone but this one is REALLY nice. I was able to take it out for a spin today and it did everything I was hoping. The quick adjustment on it is perfect and I found that I wasn't having any difficulties with reaching all the controls. My previous experience with a side-strap was on an old Canon 35mm film camera. I found it useful on that camera but it was horrible if someone else wanted to borrow the camera and you had different sized hands. This eliminates that particular problem but I did find something of an issue that is unique to DSLRs - The strap is sort of in the way of the SD card port door. All you have to do is loosen the strap to get to the door properly but it just wasn't something I was thinking about when I purchased this. It's not a detractor... just throwing it out there so no one else is surprised. This is being used on a Canon Full-Frame DSLR with a battery grip. Currently I am not using the arca-swiss plate connector that came with the strap, I am just using the Peak Design anchor with the cameras existing strap mount points.

I first purchased a Peak design product when I was looking for a camera strap for my Nikon d750. I really thought their quick release anchor system was innovative and practical. I also picked up the leash and thought it was neat, however I did not use it as much, not because of design, it just didn't seem practical for me because it was attached to my wrist. It's still a decent product for a quick and inexpensive safety solution. So when it came to the clutch, I overlooked it and did not consider it because of my experience with the leash. It wasn't until I saw my partner and his clutch strap attached to his d810 . I got to try it out and saw how practical and effective it was. I immediately got hooked and ordered mine the next day. Since I have the Peak system incorporated into my shooting equipment, it was a no brainer to get the clutch. The clutch system is very practical and useful but most of all, it's comfortable and not restraining. The clutch strap is a handy tool to secure your grip especially with a heavy camera and lens, it's not intrusive and easy to bypass if you wish not to use it on your grip, it reduces heavy camera fatigue but most of all you feel very secure holding your camera. I sometimes feel like a wild west gunslinger with the strap, quick on the draw and easy to slip in and out of this thing, unlike the leash which was kind of restraining. Now I can understand the clutch's value and its cost, I would highly recommend the Peak Design Clutch to anyone with either a big or small camera. I just recently purchased an arca swiss style ball head for my tripod and I have my D750 equipped with both a Peak camera strap and clutch strap which attach perfectly onto the Peak Design plate which sit perfectly onto my new arca style ball head and everything works fantastically! Again couldn't be happier, keep up the good work Peak Design!

I bought this for my Sony a6000 and I knew it would be way too small to need a camera grip but I just purchased the Sony just fit body case and it works sooooo much better for grip and handling . The strap works perfectly with them both together and it doesn't work well if it's super tight on the palm of your hand. It's got to be a little towards the knuckles and you'll be able to reach the shutter and all the buttons easily. With the body case , what works nice is you could attach it to the tightener on the bottom without having to use the peak design base if it bothers you. There's many options to go with but if u have an a6000, the Sony body case is a necessity for better handling. I love this duo and will look into getting the capture clip to make it all perfect. I have medium sized hands also

This hand grip is worth the money! I bought it so that I would be able to use my tripod mount on the base and still have a hand grip attached to the camera. The little loops that they have for the attachment to the base fits snugly under my tripod mount, so I don't have to remove the strap when using the tripod. This was my biggest concern with other hand grips. Another thing I really like about the design is how slim it is and yet comfortable on my hand. I have small hands and a Canon 5D DSLR that is heavy with some lenses. But this strap works beautifully and does not interfere with my ability to press the shutter release, or change the battery! I have used a super cheap Toazoe hand grip in the past and was happy with it until my husband had to adjust it to fit his hand. Then it continually slipped and I tossed it. It also did not have a deep enough hole in the base to attach my tripod mount securely. So, I had to remove it when ever using my tripod.

Great construction and easily adjustable. If you're using a full-frame DSLR or mirrorless, this is a quality hand strap. Not a great fit on my Sony a6500 (or a6000/a6300), but I knew that going in. I do, however, have my a6500 in a SmallRig cage most of the time, and it works great there. The cage has a small strap hole on the top corner closest to the camera grip, so I secure the top of the Clutch there, and just loop the anchor to the bottom of the cage. I still have to tighten the strap to its tightest, but it's a great solution to relieve some of the weight of the cage+monitor+mic. I used a velcro tie to secure the excess strap in the pic.

Great strap for your camera. The strap is very easy to tighten when putting on, and perhaps even more importantly it is equally easy to loosen the strap when putting the camera into your bag. Big plus for having the Arca Swiss base integrated into the mount making the clutch more versatile. The feel of the strap is very nice, one of my best friends is a pro photographer and he was very impressed with the feel, maybe I will get him one for Christmas. One of the best things about Peak Design is the way that all of the straps utilize the same quick attachment system, which makes switching between straps, or clutches very quick and practical. If you already use their neck strap or sling, and you're looking for a clutch, this is a no brainer. One of my gripes about the product is that on the top of the clutch, the strap passes through the camera's loop without using one of the Peak Design quick release tabs. This means that for me, going from clutch to wrist strap is not very practical because removing the clutch would probably be a bit slow. Also, the build quality seems solid, except for the tiny piece of metal that bends to hook and release the top of the clutch. I have included an image to highlight this, and you can see that that small pin looks a little questionable. Overall, I would highly recommend this clutch and if you already use Peak Design products then you will get even more bang for your buck here.

Others have complained about this clutch. I personally don't know what they are expecting. Haven't tried the spyder by it just seems like a little too much for what I am looking for out of a device like this. I can slip my hand in quickly without needing to adjust any straps, I get support for the camera from the strap and my hand, and I can reasonsable access the controls as I need them. It took a few minutes to get it set up, a few days to get used to using it, now I use it on all of my cameras. Even my gripped d750! Love peak designs products and this one is included.

I did have a problem with getting the end through my camera's black metal loop (as shown in the setup directions). What I did was tie a string around the very end that needed to go through the camera's metal loop and pull the string tight, making the strap end fold a little - enough to go through the hole of the camera's black metal loop. Then snipped the thread and the strap section will fit in the loop. It is only the end that was too big to go through the black metal loop on my camera (an A6000). Note that the quick release gadgets are not used where it attaches to to camera on this end - makes it too long and the strap can't be tighten enough. Overall the clutch strap is very handy and make the camera feel more secure in my hands. I don't plan on taking the clutch strap off until I am ready to throw it away and replace it with the latest clutch strap by Peak Design. This is a very good tool.

Easy to install, adjusting it is a breeze, it feels secure and very well built, I'm using it on my D800 with battery grip and it's perfect, I've used so many different styles, Peak Design got it spot on!
