Great Laptop 'Desk' !!!

I purchased this laptop desk based upon the good reviews, and I have to tell you that I am not disappointed. The quality is great and it's comfortable. I see that others complain about the weight, but I don't see how you could possibly make this any lighter without dumping features, and with a laptop supported on top of it, I'd say the laptop accounts for 70 percent of the weight anyway. Anyway, enough said about that. I got the add-on light and I'm thankful I did. It provides plenty of light for working in the dimly lit dungeon that is my living room. The Amazon description doesn't make it too clear, or at least for me it didn't, that the mouse pad pulls out on both sides; great for us lefties! There are 2 minor annoyances I have: I dont know if this would be unique to the Sofia, but I've already dumped my laptop onto the floor twice in one week. This has resulted in my bending of the power connector. Perhaps a little velcro will better-secure the laptop to the desk. Take it from me, resting a computer on your legs is already an inherently unstable proposition. So, you know, do anything you can to mitigate the risk because it can be an expensive mistake. The other annoyance is that the description states that the desk will hold a 17 inch laptop. That's pushing it, to be honest. Without the light, well then, I guess. But if you get the light, no way; not without it hanging over the side. My 15 inch laptop 'just' fits with the light in-place. But those would be my only (admittedly very minor) annoyances with this product. -Still not enough to knock off a star and I'd recommend the Sofia to anyone!

Love it!

I work from home and needed a lap desk for my beach house. I have a Surface tablet with a small bluetooth keyboard that works with my phone and my Surface. This desk is perfect. It holds the Surface with room to spare, doesn't obscure the screen, but holds it securely and at the correct angle. The mouse pad/phone drawer is actually really nice. With other lap desks, the mouse slides down. The drawer has a surface that allows the mouse to grip enough not to slide. Also, the phone is at the right angle for viewing, and they even have a slot so you can have it plugged in while in the stand. I got batteries, but haven't had a need for the light yet. The switch is solid and well build (as is the rest of the unit). I think it is possible I will need it in the future and wanted to have it as I have a similar light on my office desk. The surface of the desk has a black sparkle finish that I didn't expect but love.

Best Laptop lap desk on the market.

I have to agree with most of the reviews on Amazon. This is a well-thought out product that is comfortable to use and the added bonus of the USB light and the left or right handed extension for both your phone AND mouse is genius. Their customer support responded with 5 minutes when I sent an email asking how to power the USB light (I threw away the instructions that came with - and you need 4 AA batteries for a hidden power source on the side/bottom of the cushion). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PRODUCT. When both my husband and I work from home, we fight over it!

Wonderful Lap table!!!

I have been through MANY of lap desks and This desk is by far thee most comfortable on the lap. It has a handle for carrying and also inclines too making it easier to see the laptop screen and write on it. I use it in my recliner and in my bed. My 15inch Mac fits wonderfully on top and doesnt slide down at all. I think because there is a coating that grips everything. I have the black one. Anyway, there is a long plush wrist rest (couldnt think of what to call it) that blocks anything from falling off and comfy on the wrists as well. It also has a long mouse “pad”/“Table” built inside the table that slides either left or right. Both sides of it has a phone holder so that you can place your phone in it. It has room enough for my Iphone 8plus with a case. Its stands right up. Another neat factor is it has a lil pouch with velcro cover on the front end of it for the detachable light. It slides in and out and can be plugged into what looks like a usb port. There is a switch on the desktop for on/off and it takes 4 double A batteries hidden inside the desk. I am tempted to see if the USB port will recharge my phone too. It may say something in the description about it but i am in the middle of writing this and do not feel like looking it up. Lol I cannot say enough good things about this lap table. Quality is great! I will have to post a follow- up review in a couple of months. You know how some things start off great but then go bad over time? I hope this is not the case! I hope my review helps!!!

Thought this was going to be bulky and heavy by looking at the pictures. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! :) This is a fantastic lapdesk! My wife has stolen it from me to read her ipad and put her cup of coffee on while she sits in my favorite chair. Hmmmm, maybe this company can do something to fix THAT for me! Looks like I will be ordering another one of these in the next couple days.

Loved this lap top desk

Loved this lap top desk! It is just the right size, and I love all of the pockets to put a pad or a cell phone! The pull out mouse pad is super handy as is the light. The only small thing I would suggest is that they had in either their description or instructions that there is a pocket for the light storage, and also that it has a zipper pocket that contains the battery to run the light. It was not hard to figure this out however, and it is really convenient to have the ability to detach the light and store it.. Great product!

Wish I had known to buy this YEARS ago!

I always read the reviews when researching items, usually looking first at 1-star comments to see what problems may not be described in 4 or 5-star comments. The very few 1-star ratings did not deter me, and I'm so glad they didn't because this lap desk is AWESOME! I had foot reconstruction surgery three months ago and was doing very well, but recently injured the surgical foot, needing to return to elevating it constantly, all while committed to working remotely from home. I balanced my laptop on my 45-degree elevated legs while using blankets to provide a more comfortable typing angle, but the laptop kept sliding and it was very tricky. I prefer a corded mouse and by the end of my 8-hour workday my entire arm was stiff from the awkwardness. This lap desk solved those problems, with the added bonus of having the great USB light! The mouse stays on the extendable mouse pad unless I shift drastically very suddenly. I have an old Dave table purchased years ago that pulls up very closely to me while I'm seated comfortably on the couch and I can just lift the lap desk with my laptop in place onto the Dave table and push it out the way when not being used. The padding is extremely comfortable and provides sufficient balance where the lap desk feels sturdy without added weight, especially since I have an old rotator cuff injury. My only slightly negative comment would be regarding the phone slot, but the issue is so negligible to me that it would be unfair to downgrade the rating by even half a star, this lap desk is so great. I use a wallet style cell phone case for my S7 that won't fit in the cell phone slot so I removed my phone from the case, but the slot is very shallow and I was concerned the phone might take a tumble. The slot is open and while my cell was in it briefly I was able to plug in my charging cord through the bottom. I can imagine using this lap desk easily while sitting upright, either on my Dave table or lap. This is undeniably in the top 5% of my favorite Amazon purchases!

Very comfortable using in my Lazy boy chair. It was very clever how they store the USB LED Light stalk in a small slot in the cloth on the back side. On the right side is a little zipper where the battery holder for the USB light is stored. 4 AA batteries. Works well. The Tablet slot worked even though I have a protective cover on my IPAD. (See Photo). I don't use the extendable mouse shelf, which can be pulled out from either side but not both. The slot in that shelf can fit both Iphone 6 and 6+ in the vertical position. Very satisfied. Not shown in the photo is the computer to the right of my chair which the keyboard is attached to. Great learning environment as I use kindle on the IPAD to read my study material and use the Windows 10 computer (great!) to do the work. Maximum productivity!!! For the vendor: For future versions you will need to make the table slot wider for the IPAD Pro. The LED light is good as is, but perhaps the light section could be doubled to cover larger size books.

I've owned several lap desks and this one is hands down, the BEST! Construction feels high quality, from the memory foam padding, to the included LED light and slide out mouse pad holder. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Wow! This thing is awesome! I haven't had a chance to use it yet but let me tell you I am excited to get some homework! The surface is so sparkly and beautiful! The light is an extra plus along with the pull out mouse pad, which holds my iPhone 7 plus perfectly!!!! It will easily fit my laptop or textbook with no problem and without being heavy and clunky! Great buy, highly recommend! :)
