I love waffles and this was a great buy. Its way better than the flat waffle makers because this one doesnt leak at all. And if you use the measuring cup it comes with, it fills the waffle maker perfectly. At first it looked like the waffle machine wasnt full all the way, but if you wait a few seconds, the waffle mix comes up to fill the waffle maker, so dont keep filling it at the beginning just because it doesnt look full! Its non stick so the finished waffle comes off smoothly. I typically just clean it with a paper towel after using it since nothing really sticks to it. It is difficult to clean since its waffle patterned but you really dont need to clean it often other than brushing off the previous waffles crumbs. This would also be a great gift!

Perfect waffles, with no mess. First one was for me. This one was a gift. Makes one large waffle. Doesn't stick at all. Wipe to clean.

I did a lot of looking at various types and brands of waffle makers before deciding on the Cuisinart vertical waffle maker. I couldn't be happier with my choice. This is a great waffle maker! Easy to use, makes great waffles and doesn't take up a lot of counter/storage space. It's super easy to make perfect waffles; just be sure to use the measuring cup that comes with the waffle maker at first. After you get a feel for how much batter to put in, you can use any measuring cup. The key is to be sure not to over fill the waffle maker or the batter will rise up into the fill spout. I haven't had any issues with waffles sticking or any batter flowing out of the waffle maker. The waffle maker has a tune to let you know when the waffles are done. The waffles always turn out crisp on the outside and tender in the inside. Perfect waffles everytime! If you are thinking about purchasing this waffle maker, you should do it. You will be happy with the purchase.

We have shopped around for a while before finally deciding on this Cuisinart waffle maker. We personally liked the practicality of the up-right cooking position and this just made more sense to us compared to other models. Very glad we made this choice!! So I will get started for the review. First I have tried three different batters and we have never had any problems with any overflow like I have seen in other pictures. The key we have found is to first use the plastic batter scoop that comes with the waffle maker. Fill the scoop all they way up with batter only leaving around 1/4 of an inch of space available from the top. This has been the key for us on all different waffle mixes used so far. The waffle maker is very easy to use and my 8 year old loves to help. She would actually prefer to have me just move out of the way so she can maker her own waffle, as she enjoys the ease of use as well. Highly recommend and you can't mess this up since it is designed to perfection. We have also found that between 3 and 4 on the dial has given us the best results in our opinion. The beeps and emitting green/red light from the unit make this waffle maker almost completely impossible to mess up while cooking. The only issue I found is that the waffle maker does not have a shut off switch. If you are in a hurry and forget to unplug the cord I could easily see one accidentally leaving this unit on before departing for work or just a busy morning in general. Still give 5 stars and highly recommend!!

Fantastic Belgian waffle maker. Simple to operate and...just works. We've used standard box/bag pancake mix (you just add a bit of oil in addition to the required water) and legit Belgian waffle mix (egg + oil + water). The Belgian mix is better IMHO but the kids love the pancake mix version as well. I found that the highest heat/cook time setting (#5 on the dial) works best. We like them crispy on the outside which #5 handles, but they still stay soft inside which is perfect. If you go less than #4 on the heat/cook time dial you will get lightly brown waffles which can be a bit flimsy... I don't use the included measuring cup when filling the machine with waffle mix. I use a mixing bowl with spout and slowly pour in mix until I know the waffle iron is full. Don't over-fill or you'll be wiping up a mess. The mix slightly expands when heated so pour slowly and watch for the "bubble up" of batter and then stop when just about full. When cooked you're left with a bit of an edge which I just cut off so the waffle is round... Clean up is also easy. Let the machine completely cool and just brush off the left over waffle bits. The non-stick cooking surfaces don't even need any cooking spray. Just use non-scratch tongs to peel the waffle off when done cooking. Overall it's easy to use, cooks perfect Belgian style waffles, and the kids love them w/ real maple syrup. So, it's a winner in this house. We also love our Cuisinart burr-grinding coffee maker and 11 cup food processor. All great products...

Quick and easy with nothing to no mess! The instructions were simple to follow. The manufacturer suggests cooking on setting 3, but for those of you that like your waffles a little crispy on the outside like me, go with setting 4! You do have a little excess that comes out with the waffle when you poured the batter from the top (refer to pic), but you can always cut that off. I use it as little waffle dippers when I have kids in the house! Thank you Im Yoona for the suggestion!

The waffle maker makes perfect fluffy waffles all the time, you have to make sure that it is set on number 4 and pour the mix to the top but not too much, use a pour spout measuring cup it's easier than the cup that comes with it.

I'm debating on giving 5 stars since I just used the waffle maker tonight for the first time but my experience has been great. I think I'll update this later and adjust the star rating if needed. Today I made 3 waffles. The first time I thought my batter was a bit thin and I used the # 3 setting recommended in the user guide. The # 3 setting was not crisp enough so I made another. Set on #4 and beefed up my batter. Oops, too thick! The batter only made about an inch headway down the maker so out with that one! Third time's a charm. Corrected my batter and got a much better result, golden brown and fluffy inside. I will try again on the # 5 setting because we like crispy waffles and see what happens. So I learned not to make my batter too thick and find out what setting suits my taste. Also, the cup used to fill the maker does give the absolute perfect amount to use. Don't over fill, the waffle won't look pretty and it's not necessary. The edges seal tight so the excess is at the top if you ignore the cup and overfill. Experiment the first couple of times so you can find the right consistency for your taste. This is such an improvement from a horizontal waffle maker where it's hard not to overfill. Best waffle maker I've had. I'd gladly give one as a gift. Pros: This is very easy to use. Set to the desired doneness and wait for the green light. Fill to maker using the filling cup. Wait for the beep. Eat your happy waffle. Clean up is so easy. Use a damp cloth to carefully wipe clean. I used a brush to remove a few crumbs between waffles and that worked very well. Vertical design lets gravity fill the plates evenly and the filling cup takes the guess work out of making a perfect waffle. Waffle removes easily from plates with non-stick tongs so no need to use a non stick spray. The waffle is truly a Belgian style waffle. Thick with deep set wells to hold a lot of melted butter and syrup. Fairly quick to the finish. About 3 mins for a dark, crisp waffle. The timer lights are big and easy to see and ready beeps are loud enough to hear if you step away to another area. Standing design is easier to store (in my kitchen anyway since I have limited shelf space). Excellent product with excellent price. Cons: If there is a down side so far I don't see it yet. If anything changes I'll let you know. However, you should pay attention to the user guide. The plate front/back and sides get HOT to the touch on the outside. Remember to only touch the clamp on the upper side near the funnel when opening or closing the maker. Once you are finished with the maker DO turn the setting to 1 and unplug. It does not cool down rapidly so exercise care when handling. Set it aside where you won't accidentally touch it. You want to keep the happy waffle feeling going so avoid any boo boos.

I debated for a couple months before I actually bought this. I make my own waffle and pancake mix, so I was concerned that I would have to adjust too much to make this work. I was wrong. I have not had to adjust my recipe AT ALL and he waffles come out perfect, every time with out any mess. I haven’t had any issues with leaks at all and my batter is not thick, so thin batter isn’t not an issue. The only thing I can think of is that people don’t wait for the green light before they use it. I haven’t had any issues and I’ve had it for about 3 months. I highly recommend and I use this about every other day without fail!

Perfect Waffle Maker. Easy to use. Doesn't take up counter space. I was able to add my ginger and cinnamon spices to the mix. Quick. Fresh. Hot. Delicious. Best choice!
