Rattles and feels cheap

edit: Seller sent a replacement set (even though just one shaker was defective) and they are great. Everything fits snugly and the stainless steel cover stays put now. Good customer service from these guys! ----------- Maybe it’s just the P23 style shakers, but I’m fairly disappointed in mine. The stainless steel “sleeve” that goes over the glass bottle doesn’t fit snugly, and it has a weird curve in the top edge. (See attached pic) The stainless steel sleeve therefore rattles loudly against the glass whenever you shake the bottle, and it just makes the set look and feel really cheap. They work, don’t get me wrong, but I was kind of looking for something a little more well-made.

Great Shakers

We had some standard, old plastic salt and pepper shakers. These are a great upgrade. Really like the weight and the fact all the pieces come apart so you can really clean and dry them. The inner glass portion is thick and the metal pieces are sturdy. There are 3 types of openings you can slide to. Large circular opening for more coarse spices (kosher salt or larger spices), smaller circular opening for your granular spices (salt, pepper etc..) and an open spout. I got the black and white set, and then ordered the stainless steel set for additional spices.

These are amazingly well made, and are perfect for any salt , herb, or spice that you could put in them. As anyone who uses Celtic or Himalayan sea salt knows, if you put it in a container with metal, the metal will corrode. These shakers have no metal, that would come in contact with the salt, and the three size openings allow you to select the proper dispensing size quickly and easily. This is one of the best products I've ever seen for salts or spices! The designers have thought of everything, and I don't think I could conceive of any way to improve the product! Couldn't be happier.

INSTRUCTIONS for first time assembly! Absolutely outstanding Customer Service!

Luv the look of these shakers, its what grabbed my attention in the first place. I prefer glass containers for all my food, and this is a clever way to make it attractive in a red themed kitchen. Shaker is all glass inside, excepting only the screw-top. Exposed glass at bottom allows you to tell whats in it, and when it needs filling, which is key for me. I'm including some pictures as its sometimes nice to understand the pieces and how they go together when deciding to buy. I struggled with the first set I got, as apparently the top can have tension issues causing the twist to open/close/hole selector to be difficult or not work. But the 5 stars is due to extremely quick and helpful response from Gina, who answered my emails immediately, on a weekend, sent instructions and ultimately a new set shipped out to me on Monday! Here are the Tips/Instructions she sent... 1) Important - Adjusting Holes: After filling your shakers you will want to tighten the lid and then screw the lid on very tight clockwise beyond the "no holes" position. This tightens the threaded lid. After lid is tight, then rotate adjustment settings counter clockwise to set your hole opening size. Without tightening lid first, the lid will unscrew when adjusting hole settings. 2) Filling Your Shakers: Simply unscrew the lid on the top of the shaker and pour in your preferred choice of condiment. Alternatively, you can also unscrew the body of the shaker from the glass bottle to fill it. We recommend leaving a small amount of air at the very top of the bottle to allow consistent feeding of your condiment while dispensing it. Better than expected

I purchased these salt and pepper shakers more for design than functionality, but got the best of both. I was upgrading a few small counter items and decided to get these to go with my theme. I chose them because I liked the sleek black design that fits in with my black appliances, yet having the clear glass on the bottom takes the guesswork out of which container I'm grabbing. But the best part is the 3 different options of hole size. I've only had these for a few days, but have already used all 3 settings depending on what I was cooking/preparing. I can see how great they would be to use with other seasonings as well, but I'm happy to just have them for my salt and pepper for now. They look great, have a nice weighted feel in your hand when you pick them up, and the 3 size options make them more versatile than any other standard shakers.

CHEFVANTAGE Salt and Pepper Shakers Set with Adjustable Holes - Very Nice!

has one filled with salt and the other filled with garlic salt. I started out by opening and closing them each time, but that got tedious and more difficult as the salt granules became more embedded in the area of the rotating top. At first I thought, “Hum. Rotating top that I can’t use.. Oh well, in the old days, salt and pepper shakers never opened and closed, so what the hell”. Other than that, I really like the larger holes for the garlic salt, if not for that option, the garlic salt wouldn’t go well with your shakers. Because of it though, it goes just fine.

Beautiful Kitchen Accessories

My sister bought these salt/pepper shakers for my Mom this last Christmas. I really liked them at first glance, so I decided to buy my own set. These are very stylish and the red color is a rich red (my fave color). They hold a good amount of salt and pepper too - meaning one doesn't have to refill as often. They fit beautifully with my kitchen decor. I looked at the other ChefVantage products offered here on Amazon and ended up buying the red oil/vinegar set as well, in red of course. I use them both for oil though and I particularly love the "no drip" spout and the way one way can control how much liquid comes out. I am very happy with my purchase as well as the price and quality.

Where have these been all my life?!!!! We are so pleased with these I'll be buying these for gifts for many friends and family. My husband & I were constantly at odds about S&P shakers because I would purchase the larger salt grains for various reasons and they just wouldn't work well. Pepper was always too much or not enough also- not with these. Great quality, easy to fill, easy to use with options and you can see when you are going to need to refill. I honestly can't say how they will hold up because we have only been using them a short time & hand washed the top (bottom is glass so dishwasher works). No, I was not paid for this review nor do I have any affiliation with the company.

Best shakers I've had

I love these shakers especially the ability to see thru the bottom but not all the way, and just enough so you know when to refill. Chefvantage's support was exceptional. One top was not letting me change holes so they are sending me a new top. They got back to me right away, within the hour, and helped me immediately. The other top works just fine. I like the set a lot, so I was keeping it even if I couldn't get a new top and would have just kept it at the same hole setting. In less than a week Chefvantage sent me a replacement that worked perfectly and so easily! I love these so much for the reasons I mentioned. I definitely recommend these.

Very nice!

I like to use Celtic salt on my food and have found that because of it moistness it rusts anything that it can. I lost two salt shakers using it. So I have looked online for something nice that has no metal in it so it could not rust. I found these and even though they were a little more expensive then some others I thought I would give them a try. I love them! Not only are they classy looking and match my southwestern theme in my kitchen they are all glass with a colorful plastic type covering. Nothing for the salt to rust! Only disappointing thing is, even though the holes are pretty large the Celtic salt doesn't like to shake through them, so I have to use the large opening to get the salt out. I am very pleased with my purchase!
