Christmas Ornament Keepsakes I’ll Cherish Forever
Short version: Perfect! Easy, turned out great. Heat for 7 seconds, roll out before using the circle, use a clip board, press hard, use a toothpick, hot glue some ribbon. End result is super lightweight and exactly what I hoped for. If you want more details: Soooo pleased with how these turned out!! I was a bit worried going into it bc there are several options available on Amazon and reviews and results seem to be kind of mixed. I purchased these to make hand and footprint ornaments for my little girl who born in April. She was 7 months when we did these (and her hand and foot especially were almost too big but they still worked great). The foot was the first we did and it took about 3 tries to get it how I wanted it, but it was super easy to redo - just popped it in the microwave for 5-7 seconds. We did 5 initially per the instructions but my hands started getting tired after working on these a while so I upped it to 7 and it helped! We even had to take a break to nurse her and the clay did fine reheating it. Some of the pics from other reviewers show thick chunky looking results and that wasn’t really the look I was going for - especially with it being an ornament I was concerned about the weight. The weight definitely didn’t end up being a problem as this stuff really is super lightweight! I was imagining a hard and heavy ceramic-esque consistency once dried but it reminds me a lot of a marshmallow. When it dries it isn’t hard like ceramic. I could squish it a little between my fingers and it had some bounce to it still but didn’t add any new imprints (if that makes sense). And when I say marshmallow I don’t mean it’s a gooey sticky mess in the middle. This may be typical for all clay like this but I’ve just never used any before now. ANYway - it’s perfect! Light enough to hang on a flimsy branch even and I dare say if it were to fall I don’t think it would break, which is another relief and puts my mind at ease that I can hang them and not need to set them high on a shelf far out of reach for fear of breaking them. As far as the process goes, I mentioned the heating already. I used my own wax paper bc it seemed better quality than what was included. I halved the clay, and then one at a time I heated, kneaded, rolled into a ball, and then used my hand to press it down into approximately the size and thickness I wanted. I then used the rolling pin provided to finish smoothing things out. Lightly laid the circle over it to make sure it was big enough and really just eyeballed the thickness of it and to make sure it was somewhat even throughout (aimed for about 1/3” maybe). I then FLIPPED IT OVER and used the side that had been pressed into the flat countertop the whole time as the side to do the prints on. I did the prints and THEN used the circle cookie cutter like thing to position it how I wanted to trim around it. Side note: Some people have complained about not being able to get the clay smooth - I had no issue doing it this way. I also think some people try and mold and push the clay down into the circle cookie cutter thing provided and then try and roll it out inside there and then talk about how difficult it was and also how big and bulky it was. Yeah that WOULD make it difficult- don’t do that. :) For the prints I also used a clip board to hold the wax paper and clay in one hand and my babe’s foot in the other hand. I’m a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse and this is the method I use for getting newborn footprints to have the most control. :) The last thing I did was add the lettering and the hole for the string (twist the straw to make an easy hole). For the lettering part be sure to cut and organize the letters you need beforehand - it’ll just make the process easier, especially if your clay starts to lose some of its workability. The letters are actually the only part that were sorta difficult. I pressed them into the clay pretty deep bc I wanted to make sure they were still well seen in case some detail was lost during the drying process (same for the hands and feet - push them on it there; it’s not paint prints that you barely have to touch). But it was a little difficult getting the letter back out again. Nothing crazy but had to gently hold the clay down and give them a slight wiggle. And then they kind of drug some of the clay up with them so the edges weren’t “perfect”. I used a toothpick to clean up the edges a bit and am including a video of that part. Then just let it dry. They were definitely fully dry by 72 hours (although I would say they were probably dry by 48 and I was just being extra cautious and was still unsure how hard they were suppose to get). I saw where another reviewer added some ribbon as trim and really liked the idea so I did something similar with some twine and yarn I had. Hot glue worked great and voila! All finished and super pleased. If you read this far, bless you. LOL I hope this was helpful! Merry Christmas!

Wife is Happy, and so am I!
Used in the hospital for our baby who passed away. We knew he wouldn't make it because of a defect (anencephaly). We decided to have a single piece and managed to get hands and feet, w/ date and name around the bottom. FYI, make sure to press firmly as the imprints "fade" a little after hardening. This is super easy to use. Just make sure you have a clean flat surface to roll the "dough" if you're in the hospital. if the surface has any dirt, like play-dough, it'll pick it up. Wife is very happy w/ the keepsake! 5 stars!!!

So easy and NO mess
I didn't know what to expect when I got this to make ornaments with my 8 week old. I ordered two sets to give to the new grandparents for Christmas. The clay comes sealed to keep it fresh. Once you open it, cut the block in half and knead it. It is very easy to work with and leaves nothing on your hands. It is incredibly lightweight. I have used all sorts of clays and this is lighter than anything else I have encountered. I rolled it into a smooth ball (honestly, this was the hardest part of the whole process other than getting my son to open his tiny fist). Use the roller it comes with and roll it out smooth. I rolled it slightly smaller than the circle cutter that it comes with and placed it in the cutter. Then I used my fingers to press it out into the cutter (I didn't want to lose any clay by actually using it like a cookie cutter). My husband held the baby while I pressed his foot into one ornament, my husband did his hand in the other (I had some trouble getting all the little toes to show up - but when the first attempt didn't turn out, I just balled it up, re-rolled it and tried again). We used the enclosed letters and numbers to press his name and the year in around the prints. They are currently drying on the kitchen table. I have another kit to make some for our tree. This seriously easy to use!

So much fun! Highly recommend!
We made ornaments yesterday with our grandbaby's hands and feet, one for us and each of our three children, including the baby's parents. Each one got to decorate their own ornament. Nice that a small plate holder was also included for those that do not celebrate Christmas or just want something for year round. And the stencils work great. Best first Holiday gift ever! Everything is included in the kit and it is very easy to use. No time pressure. If you goof, just re-roll the clay and start over. You need to wait 48-72 hours after making them to let them dry, so don't wait until the day before Christmas! Mine have not dried yet and I am assuming that will go well. If not, I will re-post. Based on my experience so far, I'm ordering a few more kits to make gifts for other family members.

Highly recommend “Baby Mushroom” 🍄 you won’t be disappointed!!!
I’m a nanny of a 5 month old. For Christmas I thought it would be neat to give her parents a gift of her hand/foot prints. I had no idea which product/kit to buy on Amazon. I researched, read reviews and watched Utube videos. I finally decided on the company, “Baby Mushroom”. I’m very happy with my choice. Here’s why.....I really liked the material this was made out of. Not sticky or messy. You do have to press hard when making your prints. Especially the heal and toes. It’s really hard to get a lot of detail from the foot, like lines, and creases, so don’t be disappointed. The best part is if you mess up you can roll it out again!! This is what convinced me to try this particular product. Although I do have to say I’m not sure how many times that would work. I did it once and it was a little tricky and took patience getting the material smooth again with no lines or creases, but it’s possible. After much debating I painted mine with acrylic paint. I waited until it dried for 24 hrs. then painted it. This made it really stand out and look finished. I was so glad I did. It turned out like I hoped and it was easy to paint because of the smooth material. Even though the material is white, I painted a white acrylic paint over the entire thing except for the actual prints. This made it look smooth and I liked the texture it gave. After the paint dried I used a clear glaze and sprayed it over the top. This protects it and gives it a shine. In retrospect I wished I would have used a thinner pen to print her name and date. I’m not a fan of my printing so that could be part of it. 🥴 All in all the product is easy to use and if you have any questions, message “Baby Mushroom” on Facebook. I was amazed and so impressed. I got a response later that evening from them and she was soooo helpful, encouraging and willing to do anything to make sure I was happy with the product. This along with the product makes me highly recommend this company. Anyone who’s trying to decide what company/product to use for hand/foot prints, I’d use this one!!!!

Love
Love that it comes with everything you need. Very easy to remold in case you need to start over. Doesn’t stick annoyingly to things, baby’s hand/foot comes off clean. You do have to press pretty hard on each little finger or toe if you want to get a distinct outline. I love that we have this to keep forever!

Decent quality, not heavy, enough for 2 hand or foot prints as advertised in product description
Worked as expected. Final product turned out well. Loved the stamps as it made it easier to put name and date on each footprint. Does dry quickly so it is important to work fast and put enough pressure down to make sure the impression is deep and detailed enough. Also suggest splitting it into two and leaving the second portion in the plastic so you have more time to work with it when ready. A bit pricier than some products but the quality and having it shipped to our door was worth the difference.

Perfect for making a keepsake ornament
This kit was fantastic. I ordered it a while back and saved it for Christmas eve to make ornaments of my daughter's foot and hand print for her first Christmas. This is a perfect keepsake. I have other kits like this as well but liked this one much better. For one, it comes with 2 packs of clay. So 2 ornaments. More importantly the clay is a nice firmness and not gooey or sticky like other kits I had. This makes it much easier to roll out and prepare. Also, the little stamps are adorable and make the ornament a little more sweet than just a circle with a print. It dries quickly and makes a wonderful ornament. Overall this is a fantastic product and a great buy. I love my ornaments and will cherish them forever.

Great, easy, holiday keepsake
This product is everything I imagined and more. I didn’t realize you didn’t have to bake these. You roll them out, do your print and they sit out for 72 hours. They kept the imprint great you can still see all the lines in my sons hand! Very easy to use, will be giving these out as Xmas gifts this year to family for his first Christmas! Definitely recommend, and even posted in my fb “moms” group to other moms looking for a great/easy/sentimental holiday gift.

Love this product
I wanted to preserve the tiny hand and foot prints of my adorable newborn daughter and I was uncertain of which product to choose. The advertisement for this product says it's essentially easy to use and mess-free which enticed me to purchase it. After I purchased the order, I received an email of appreciation from the company and the email included tips for using the clay. As my husband prepared the clay, he commented on how it was easy to use and mess free. We LOVE this kit! We are completely satisfied with the outcome and love our baby's clay prints. We love the letters and ribbons that are included in the kit to personalize the prints. Great product! Satisfied customer for sure- we would definitely use this product again and will recommend it to anyone who is searching for a baby keepsake kit.
