I wore it on a 6 mile evening run and loved it. I started at dusk so I didn't ...
I was in need of a brighter, lighter headlamp to wear running as the one I had was over 10 years old. I chose the Foxelli because of how bright it was and other positive reviews. I wore it on a 6 mile evening run and loved it. I started at dusk so I didn't need the brightest option but as it got later, I switched it to the brightest option and it lit up the dark sidewalk perfectly. The ability to point it down at different angles is really nice as well. It didn't bounce or move around either. I also didn't have to wear it super tight. Very pleased with this product!

Best Headlamp for the Money!
I love it when a company makes a great product at a great price. Too often, I find that I pay a premium price for a product that I know will perform well, but I've spent more money than I wanted to in order to get a better product. Then I find Foxelli. You've got to love a company that wants to give you the best quality at a reduced price, right? That's exactly what they are doing. This headlamp performs wonderfully and has a very easy to use interface. I really like the red led lights on it when you are in need of a bit of light, but don't want to blind anyone in your tent in the middle of the night. The headband is very comfy and it is lightweight to wear. Another great product from Foxelli!

Great buy
Needed a headlamp for a camping trip. Didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on one, and based on the specs, price, and initial reviews, I jumped on this deal. Having to use the bathroom at night in the wilderness can be scary. This headlamp is awesome. Even at the lowest setting, it has tons of usable light. It also has 2 higher settings, the brightest being great to blinding/scaring perpetrators/animals away. The head lamp also has a red light mode with and SOS mode which was perfect for night photography, or being courteous and not blinding others in the dark. I haven't changed the original supplied batteries for weeks and it's still going strong. This is my go to head lamp. Fits comfortably on my head and doesn't fall off even when running. Buy with confidence.

Preliminary Review is Positive
This is a preliminary review, addressing price, initial quality, clarity of instructions, and predicted suitability. I have not used my Foxelli Headlamp under outdoor/field conditions, but will update my review once I've done so. I purchased two of these headlamps based on the Amazon ratings; I'm going to a field assessment for an international disaster relief organization, and headlamps are on the recommended equipment list. Here are the positives about these headlamps: 1. Included instructions are clear and uncomplicated; I was able to prep my headlamp for operation in about three minutes. 2. Each headlamp included good quality AAA batteries. 3. While these lamps are definitely not military-grade, they seem robust enough to survive in the field for a week or two without crapping out. 4. The LED output is very bright at its highest setting; it's easy to change from one mode to another, simply by pushing a button. (The button is large enough to find by touch alone, and operate while wearing gloves.) 5. I like having the red filter integrated, rather than needing to insert it manually. 6. The elastic headband is easily adjusted, comfortable, and fits over a hat or stocking cap. 7. The price per unit was exceptionally reasonable, so much so that I bought two; one for my expedition, and one for around the house. I haven't found any negatives...yet...but once I've completed the field testing, I will update this review!

Well it sucked so I thought about buying one for myself
I was snow-blowing my driveway at night when we had the big snow storm a month back and my dad had a headlamp for me to use so I could see. Well it sucked so I thought about buying one for myself. I looked online and I saw that the Foxelli had great reviews so I was sold automatically. I bought it and I immediately knew it had great craftsmanship and was a sturdy product. The packaging was easy to open and get the lamp out, and the headlamp has great construction to it. The button is very tactile and every click works on first try. There are 4 clicks to the headlamp, High medium low strobe, and then when you hold down the button it goes to red and another click is strobe red. There is a timer between each click so that if you are on a light level for a couple seconds and then click the main button again the light will turn off fully instead of you having to go all the way through each click. The light distances/lumens are as follows: 165Lm for 50 meters, 80Lm for 35 meters, and 40Lm for 15 meters. The distances/lumens are very even between each level and they are great for close up but the light power lacks when you go for long distance. Overall the headlamp is great. here are my pros and cons: Pros: Sturdy plastic Adjustable head band Adjustable clip for the headlamp to change angles The lights are very bright and clear up front The button is very tactile Long battery life Cons: The lights are bright but only up to 80 meters, so the light isn't good for longer distance. Another button would be nice for the red setting, it gets tiring having to go through 4 clicks to get to strobe light. Overall I love the Foxelli. Besides the light distance which really is personable preference, this light is amazing. I will definitely be using it for campfires and camping.

In a Four Headlamp Shootout, Foxelli is great quality and the best value
I recently compared four LED headlamps across a range of prices, all rated very highly on Amazon. I'm using these for work around the house in dark places, so red or green lights, flashing options, etc are not particularly important to me. Mostly I'm just looking for a nice clean bright white light while running wires, or working in the ceiling, or even plugging things in behind a computer that you don't want to move. Headlamp 1, the "Shining Buddy" LED Headlamp, was $12.97, and had 4.8 stars from 2509 reviews. Physical quality seemed fine, but from the moment I turned it on, the "Shining Buddy" had a relatively dim LED, even on the highest settings, and it had a very blue tint (a very cool LED color). It was dim enough that I found it wanting for most tasks and the color made it unpleasant to use. I didn't use it for long. Headlamp 2, the Foxelli Headlamp at the same price ($12.97) also had good reviews - 4.7 stars from 1082 reviews. In contrast, the Foxelli was a rockstar!. It had a much brighter and had a very clean, white light. It compared favorably to the two other lamps I reviewed which were 2x and 3x the price. It has dimmable lights, flashing lights, and red color as most do. The only nitpick is that one must cycle through all settings to turn off. The last setting, before turning off, is a VERY bright flashing setting. Wow. Mezmerizing! But annoying to have to cycle through each time. This would be my choice for a go-to work light in the future. Great price, clear white light, nice quality. Headlamp 3, the Black Diamond Spot Headlamp, was $25.99, and 4.6 stars from 352 reviews. It's an excellent performer and seems to be very high quality. It's a bight brighter than the Foxelli, and has a somwhat more uniform light. It also has a moderately bright but very wide uniform light setting. This is a really nice feature that I didn't have on an old Black Diamond light and I like it. Although I mostly use the bright spot setting, I could see it being useful in a close up place, or for finding things in the dark as it really illuminates gently but all around. It seems to have a nice closure mechanism (a bit nicer than the Foxelli) which seems durable. The Tap-For-Extra-Bright option is really cool too. There are more settings (red, flashing, etc) and the method for getting to them is a bit complicated, but it means that you can (more or less) get tot the setting you want and keep it there without a lot of cycling through unwanted settings. Great lamp, and definitely nicer than the Foxelli, but for work the Foxelli is good enough and half the price, so buy two and still have one when you can't find the other. If you're camping, or hiking, the Black Diamond Spot might be more up your alley and it is still a good bargain. Headlamp 4 was the Black Diamond Storm Headlamp, at $31.93, with 4.5 stars from 186 reviews. This is really a premium headlamp. Fit and finish was similar to the BD Spot, but with a much better cam lock closure and superior gasket sealing for the battery compartment. This lamp is even brighter than the bright BD Storm, which was even brighter than the Foxelli. And then you could use Power Tap and it was really really bright. It also has the wide angle, gentle uniform light setting which I liked so much on the BD Spot. Add green to the red and flashing options, and you get a very complicated control system (all from one button) but with a nice guide and quick reference card to rescue you. This is really the nicest headlamp of the four, but only a bit nicer than the BD Spot at a bit of a premium. This light uses 4 batteries, which is nice because what do you always do with that other one from your charger anyway? All in all, three of these lights were awesome. All come with batteries, but I use Eneloop rechargables in my headlamps because they go through batteries pretty quickly when you have them on bright all of the time. I'd buy the Foxelli again in a heartbeat. For my purposes, the BD Spot is also a great light, with the higher quality and wide angle setting worth the extra. It turns out that I didn't really need the extra features of the BD Storm. A camper or hiker might find them invaluable though!

A must-have gadget for night runner
I have to say it is a must-have gadget for night running. I used to running after sunset on a dark road without too much illumination. Until one day I ran into a fence, broke my nose and got blood all over my face, I decided to search for a headlamp. I am lucky enough to find this awesome headlamp. First of all, it is very light weighted, and very well sit on your forehead without any rotation and too much vibration while running. You literally do not feel its existence. Second, it is very bright, even at the low setting, you are still able to see what's ahead. To me, it just solved my problem, and thus I am very happy about the purchase.

I love this headlamp
I love this headlamp. One of my best purchases in 2017. Initially I was skeptical that given the low price this product would last or work as advertised. So far it's been great and allows me to continue running in low light conditions avoiding pavement cracks and other obstacles. I prefer running in daylight but during the winter months it's just not possible. It fits snug on the head without being overly tight or constricting. Having three different angles to choose from makes it flexible in terms of how far ahead you want to focus the center the light. Of course, this varies on your terrain and speed. Two small critiques. The plastic portion of the lamp that rests against the head is not padded and a bit uncomfortable on the forehead. The second minor complaint is the lack of an additional strap or clip maintaining the current width adjustment. This means that every time you remove it from your head you lose the setting. Before you put it back on your head need to fumble with the straps and adjust it again. Perhaps at a more expensive price point these small issues don't exist.

Every Home Should Have One!
This product proved to be more valuable than I had ever imagined. I purchased the Foxelli headlamp for my son as a Christmas present. He is planning an extreme adventure in 2018, and I thought this would be a great gift. Little did I know that it would be such an essential lifesaver. We live in Southern California. On Thursday evening, we received the mandatory evacuation call from the San Diego Sherriff's Department. Our home was in the path of one of the wildfires. We were scrambling to pack up essentials when we lost all power. Since it was already night, we lit a couple candles (not really what one feels inclined to do during a wildfire) and tried to continue to pack. Then I remembered my son's package under the tree. Using a flashlight, I found the little package and handed it to him. It was the perfect gift (albeit a bit early). (If anyone is is wondering--"if they had flashlights, why the candles?" Try packing while holding a flashlight...) This headlamp proved to be the most valuable tool we had as we prepared to leave our home. Fortunately, this story has a very happy ending. Sunday, the mandatory evacuation order was lifted for our area. Upon our return, we found our home completely untouched by the fire (Thank you to all the firemen who worked tirelessly to save so many structures!). This headlamp truly made a difference for us in a time of crisis!
