Purchased these to go with some HDMI extension cables for my Oculus Rift. I learned first hand that if you accidentally tug on the Rifts cables too hard, you'll end up snapping the connectors on the headset and once you do, your going to wait a very long time to get a replacement! My own wait was around one and a half months, so after that experience, I decided to take things into my own hands and I designed a setup so that if I were to accidentally snag my Rift headset cable again, instead of the connections breaking, the cable would simply unplug from the extensions and I'd be fine. For that purpose, this set of cables will be your insurance against lost time with your Rift, or the cost of replacement in case your charged for the damage to the Rift cables. Now, if I accidentally snag the wires when walking in or out of my room, the worst thing that can happen is that I have to reattach the cables to these extension cables. Saving the time and money on the replacement cable is worth every penny! Better yet, you won't notice any lag or difference in your Rift experience when adding these cables to your headset, and that's something that most people would worry about. I've had nothing but peace of mind since ordering these along with the extension cables for the HDMI, so if you have accidents where you occasionally snag things, this is something that you're sure to love.

Ruggedly made, so much so that they are a little stiff but they work perfectly as an extension cables for my webcam and my external HDD. Just plugged them into available 3.0 USB Ports and then plugged the camera and HDD into them. Everything worked perfectly. I kind of liked the ruggedness of the cables because some 18"s of them are actually lying on the floor behind the computer (a PC) where it/theyAmazonBasics USB 3.0 Extension Cable - A-Male to A-Female - 3 Feet (2 Pack) get moved around quite often. Plugs fit tightly and look very well made. All-in-all I'm very happy with the cable(s). I'm a computer geek and am always happy with well-made peripherals. These cables fill that bill.

I’ve really liked AmazonBasics cables over the years. I’ve never had an issue with ANY of them and they are constructed to last forever. Wiring used it high quality and thick. The connectors are put on extremely well and will not fall off from normal use. I’m more likely to lose one of these cables than for it to “fail”. I still have some AmazonBasic cables from when they first started manufacturing them eight years or so ago. If you are deciding between this USB3 cable and some USB2 cable, you might as well just go ahead with this USB3 one as its backwards campatible with USB2 anyway. (I.e., I’m using these last AmazonBasics USB3 cables with just USB2-equipped Raspberry Pi3’s.)

this actually works as a usb extension for my usb wifi adapter. At first I thought it was the drivers, then I decided to get a new wifi adapter and new extension cable because I had some suspicions with this company called 'cable matters'. Lo and behold my suspicions were correct, I got screwed with a cheap low quality usb extension cable from 'cable matters'. With that extension cable, my wifi would disconnect every time I tried to download anything. With this new amazonbasics cable, I can download all day to my hearts content without a single hiccup!! The funny thing is that this amazonbasics cable is about half the price of 'cablematters'. Go figure, cheaper is better here haha.

This is a well made, sturdy, albeit somewhat thick cable. I bought it so that I could extend both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 cables. I.E., you can plug this cable into a USB 2.0 port on a computer and attach a USB 2.0 device or cable to the other end and it will work fine. To be clear: you can attach a USB 2.0 phone cable to this extension cord, plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your PC and you will be able to both charge your phone and transfer data to and from it (at USB 2.0 speeds). You can, of course, also plug this cable into a USB 3.0 port on a computer and plug a USB 3.0 device or cable into the other end and it will work fine. Posting this info since some other reviewers were questioning this. The USB 3.0 standard is designed to be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (and even USB 1.1). The USB 3.0 connector is designed so that the extra pins needed for USB 3.0 are recessed, and they won't be used if the cable is plugged into a USB 2.0 port. USB 3.0 is a superset of USB 2.0, so why not purchase an extension cable that will serve both types of devices and ports?

I'm using this 2-pack of 6' USB 3.0 Cables to extend the reach from my computer to various devices (USB 3.0 and 2.0) that are located more than 3 feet from my computer without any issues. 1) Connected to 4-port USB 3.0 hub that is connected to my three USB 3.0 External Hard Drives and transfer speeds are over 120 Mbps. 2) Connected to another 4-port USB 3.0 hub that resides in my keyboard drawer in my desk to connect to my USB 2.0 keyboard and my Apple Lightning and microUSB charging cables. No issues with charging or synching with my computer. The 6 foot cable lengths are great at allowing you to keep your cables hidden from sight without compromising speeds and connectivity.

They allowed me to connect my printer and scanner to my laptop without having to move things or lay the cables through my work area. I can leave them hooked up to my new docking station all the time and not get frustrated thinking the printer won't work only to find out I plugged in the scanner instead. The devices continued to operate just fine with my new laptop. My son's laptop would no longer print when using these extension cables but it is at least 6 years old. Perhaps it was a downward compatibility issue. I don't even know if the USB ports on that laptop are USB 2.0. Yeah, so maybe I should buy a new one for him but he was happy to have a laptop instead of a desktop so . . . shhh!

I know how it is. You centralize your computer within your home office, but unfortunately, not all your office peripherals are close enough for their cords to be able to plug to the back of it. We all have reasons for needing a USB extension cable in our home whether it be for our office, our phones, our Playstation or Xbox. When cords won't reach, these cables come to the rescue. There is no need to pay a fortune for an extension cable. This is what I like about Amazon Basics products. Here is a cable that is well built, USB 3.0 (backward compatible to 2.), and capable data transfer rate at up to 5 Gbps. These are universal compatible and no drivers are needed. I only needed a single 6' USB extension cable so I could connect my scanner to my computer that was out of reach. I ended up getting the two-pack because it was only a little more money and one never knows when they might need another one of these cables. To test this cable out, I connected it to the Apple DVD drive and not only played content over the course of a few hours but also burned some content to disc. During that time, there were no disconnections that would be caused by a faulty cable connection. In fact, the connectors fit very snug. You can pay more for other brands, but I really don't think you'll come out ahead.

Not sure how much I can speak about a USB 3.0 extension cable... but must say the cable quality is higher than what I expected from an AmazonBasics brand. These do a great job and are rather thick which leads me to believe they will last a while. I will update this review in the future with any issues - but this is my second purchase so far. So they've been doing the job. Previous USB extensions at a similar cost are no comparison. The cables were thinner, would start curling and tangling themselves, and eventually start having connectivity issues at the USB male/female ends. I don't see that being the case with these just because of how much rubber/plastic protection goes around the cable to connectors. If I ever need to extend USB cables again, I'll go ahead and buy another pair of the exact same ones (maybe short/longer depending on the situation). Overall, AmazonBasics has impressed me yet again.

I needed these AmazonBasics USB 3.0 Extension Cable set (2) for a new Blu-Ray burner I was planning to use. The player was equipped with a 12-inch cable that was more an adapter than a cable, so I attached this extension cable to my computer so the burner could sit safely on my desk. My first impression was it is solidly built. At 6mm (diameter) thick it might be the fattest cable on the desk. This leads me to believe the voltage drop will be minimal and I'm hoping these last longer than the computer I use them with. My experience with AmazonBasics has been excellent and these cables continue to impress.
