Beautiful sound, calming, just lovely

I fell in love with Tibetan singing bowls when I was visiting a "zen" boutique in Indianapolis. They had these large ones that were beautiful with their intricate designs, and just produced such a lovely calming sound... I was stoked to find that you could get a small one on Amazon, particularly after I watched one of the reviews that included a video with sound. I purchased the brass one and love the contrast of the gold details against the darker brass background, it really makes it stand out. The little green cushion it comes with is nice, and the bowl is perched atop it when not in use; no issues with the bowl falling over or being imbalanced when resting there. The sound it produces is quite nice, and very full for how small the bowl is. I enjoy sitting in my meditation corner making it sing, focusing on the sound and letting my stress and worries melt away. The only con I have for this is that there's a few minor cosmetic blemishes in the workmanship (see pictures). But I didn't take off a star because it's near the bottom of the bowl which you don't see much, and it's purely cosmetic -- doesn't affect the way it sounds or the use of the bowl at all. Highly recommended if you like Tibetan Singing Bowls, or are into meditation. Highly suggest checking out the review with the video with sound so you can see which tone resonates for you.

Fantastic company

If you've been putting off buying a bowl I recommend you treat yourself instead of waiting 2 decades like I did! The sound is so lovely, and when my daughter plays hers with me the whole house is filled with the beautiful tones! I could not be happier with purchasing from this company! I had some issues with my order, but Jamie at Silent Mind went above and beyond to sort everything out! Now my daughter and I both have one of these lovely bowls, the price of these bowls for what you get is fantastic! I waited almost 20 years to buy a singing bowl, because all the ones I'd seen were well over $100 and I just couldn't justify a purchase like that. Thank goodness for the internet and other advances for making it easier to find good quality items for a reasonable price!

Original Review: I did extensive research on singing bowls for weeks because my wife has wanted a singing bowl for a long time. Based on all of the reviews and videos I watched, I trusted that Silent Mind had the best quality singing bowls available on the market. I wanted to get this as a gift to surprise my wife for Christmas. I originally wanted to get her the gold singing bowl but unfortunately it was out of stock. I didn't want to risk waiting for the gold bowl to be available again and with Christmas so close, I settled on ordering the brass bowl. The bowl arrived today and I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of the bowl. It does not look like the picture and it has red/pink stains all over it? The bowl is scratched and chipped? It is also pitted and corroded inside? Is this normal? The detail is absolutely terrible and reflects poor craftsmanship. Very misleading in what I received versus the photos on Amazon. The quality just doesn't compare. I'm very stressed and worried because I'm not going to be able to give this singing bowl as a gift to my wife. I would be embarrassed to say the least. I'm at a loss.

Exceptionally well made singing bowl...

My bowl arrived swiftly and well protected within the box. When I took off the bubble wrap and held it in my hand and activated its sound with the mallet, a very sweet song emminated. The next day I used the singing bowl before meditation, chiming it three times before going within deeper and clearer than the day before. Being a sound healer, I completely understand and have experienced the power of various sound currents and frequencies to change human physiology, mentality and emotions. This beautifully made bowl not only sounds good, it feels good. Too, the Tibetan Ohm symbol in the middle of the inside of the bowl adds an energy to the bowl that is healing as well.

Beautiful singing bowl

I love this singing bowl. The bowl is absolutely beautiful in appearance and sound. The bowl delivered well packaged and the company that sells this have been super helpful and communicative. I definitely recommend this singing bowl and look forward to many years of use!

An experience.

This is a really intricate and beautiful bowl, the color seems vibrant and the pattern seems almost ancient. I bought this as a gift for my best friend and he really loves it. We have used it for meditating. The sustained pitch really helps with calming the senses and getting into a zone. The wood mallet feels light and durable, the small leather pad looks very precisely cut and applied. This is an awesome product that has both form and function. The sound quality is at a really good pitch that can stimulate a feeling of complete silence once your ears are in tune with it. We haven't noticed any inconsistency with the sustained vibration using the leather pad side to rub the bowl's outside metal side. The tactile vibration you can experience from placing the bowl in your hand is a subtle, calming tingle that adds to the overall experience. Combine this with the right conditions and the right mindset and you can really have a awesome experience that you should allow yourself to have. In terms of packaging and shipping the item arrived in perfect condition and really well preserved. Shipping was fast and the Vendor is really nice and dedicated to customer service. If I ever need an item related I will surely contact this vendor again. If you are interested in this item, do your research, take your time and know your needs so you can purchase accordingly. Set realistic expectations and enjoy the experience.

Beautiful Bowl; Fantastic Seller

Not only is this singing bowl beautiful to look at, but its tone is absolutely lovely. It's a perfect compliment to the slightly larger bowl I already possess. When I'm able to add more bowls to my collection, I will not hesitate for a moment to go through this seller. At a time when you're lucky to even reach a live person when you call a business today, superior customer service is that much more appreciated---and believe me when I tell you, Silent Mind's customer service is exactly that---superior! I was contacted by email shortly after my bowl was scheduled to arrive so the seller could first ensure that I did, in fact, receive it, and second to answer any questions I might have or concerns they might address. Who does that anymore? In any case, I am thrilled enough with my purchase, but with service so spectacular, I'll be a customer for life. :)
