When I received my Lohanu Ukulele I was pleasantly surprised of the beautiful design and high quality mahogany wood incorporate
Let me start off by first saying that the Lohanu Ukulele is an extremely high quality instrument; and yet, it is pale compared to Lohanu Ukulele's customer service. The Lohanu Ukulele customer service is superb. The Online Lohanu Ukulele is committed to establishing a lifelong repeating customers base rather than trying to make a fast onetime sale to people. When I received my Lohanu Ukulele I was pleasantly surprised of the beautiful design and high quality mahogany wood incorporate it into each ...instrument. I am now the proud owner of both the Soprano and Concert Lohanu Ukuleles. I am truly amazed at the quality and beauty of the Lohanu Ukuleles for the price... Furthermore, I became more impressed with the quality of the Lohanu Ukulele, when it arrived at my residence. Not knowing much about ukuleles; and having a fault of being a perfectionist, I became concern of the hump or raised back of the ukulele. Being a surfer-and you know: ukuleles and surfing go hand-in-hand. I became concern when I noticed the back of my ukulele having a hump. Thinking that I had purchased a defected ukulele, I took it to a well-established and successful music store here in Southern California. And still yet, I became even more surprised and impressed with my purchase…when the instrument repair technician told me that "arch back" ukuleles are reserved only for high-end quality ukuleles to give it a richer clear and louder sound. Hence, if you are considering purchasing a ukulele? I highly recommend purchasing a Lohanu Ukulele; or, you might come to regret not purchasing one when you come across a proud owner of a Lohanu Ukulele, and see firsthand the quality material and construction of Lohanu Ukulele. Now, "Don't say you were not fair warned should you purchase another brand ukulele and, find out the hard way the high quality of the Lohanu Ukulele."

Very Courteous, Responsive Seller!
I'm thrilled with the beautiful materials and craftsmanship of this Soprano uke and its clear tone. I would add photos, but there's really no need: everything looks exactly as shown in the pictures on Amazon. I find it much easier to play this soprano than my concert uke because the smaller frets make it easier for my short fingers to reach the chords. I confess that I was so impressed with this uke, and disappointed that it was nicer and less expensive than my store-bought concert uke, that I briefly considered keeping the soprano and giving my granddaughter my used one. Don't judge me. I purchased this bundle for my granddaughter's 10th birthday because it included everything she needed to start playing. It was fun to see her look of shock when she unwrapped the box and saw the beautiful instrument. I taught her a quick one-chord song (Old MacDonald, C chord) and she was amazed she could sing and play a song so quickly and easily. Her friends came over soon after and some of them also own ukes, so they started playing together and formed a little girls band. The tuner works fine, though I've seen others reviewers comment on replacing it with a Snark. I have a Snark and have to agree it is a nicer tuner, but we can't expect every item in the package to be top notch or the price would be much higher. The strap is nicer than I expected, and the fact that the holes were already drilled for the strap and the buttons are included was really impressive. The strings hold a tune very well. The extra strings are worth $7-$9, the strap assembly $15-$25, and the tuner perhaps $5-$7. The gig bag does not have padding but it's better than not having one. All in all, this is a very well-planned, impressive package deal. It's important that the best quality item in the package is the instrument. The other items are great to have, and it was smart for the seller to include them for the convenience of the beginner who may not have known they would want a tuner and strap and extra strings soon after starting to play the ukulele. Who wants to spend the time and extra money after purchasing a new instrument to buy add-ons like strap buttons and installation or new strings? Thanks to Lohanu, you don't have to. This package contains everything to get a beginner established tuning and playing the ukulele. There were two minor issues when the uke first arrived. One of the strap buttons was missing and the gig bag was too small for the instrument (I think this was a defect, as I didn't see anyone else make this comment). I emailed Lohanu (contact info was provided on the enclosed flyer) and they responded promptly and courteously, eager to correct the issues to my satisfaction. They immediately shipped me a package with two new buttons (both holes were drilled nicely), and a slightly larger gig bag that worked great. Very impressive seller and product!

I made the right choice!!!
My ukulele got here an entire day early so bonus points for that! I ordered it two nights ago after hours of research. I unpacked it excitedly and immediately went on the website to register it and check out the tutorials. I spent an hour and a half playing and successfully memorizing chords and learning three songs before I was forced to put my ukulele down. I'm new to the uke but not new to music and to me this little guy sounds great! The strings are quality and I like the clip-on tuner that came with it. I barely had to make any adjustments to the strings they were close to tuned already. The strap is also good quality and the bag is non-padded and super basic for carrying only, not protection. I won't be using the picks, but it was nice they came with the bundle. The icing on the cake is that this company seems to be owned by someone who cares very much about making his lovely ukuleles available at a very fair price and who also cares about the positive experience of that person with his product and sharing the joy that ukuleles bring to the world! He took the time to create the online tutorials and demos himself. There is something very personal about that and you will not receive the same service with a big brand. He truly loves what he does and it shows. I will be a repeat customer and refer people to this brand for sure. Lifetime guarantee included as well! Thanks, Joseph! You rock!!!

A Long But Thorough Review
The first part of this review is for the ukulele alone. (I'll get to the accessories in a minute) This is my first ukulele and I've had it for a little over a month now. During that time I've been able to hear and handle higher end ukuleles and I have to say that this one holds up very nicely in comparison. It's got the look, feel and sound of much more expensive models at an affordable price. I like the high quality strings that come already installed. These are nylon strings that are easier on your fingers than other types of strings and as a beginner I really appreciate that. The slightly bowed back of end of the body gives it a nice rich sound not often found in ukes at this price point. I also like the strap hardware that came pre-installed. This was a very nice touch since usually you'd have to install them yourself or pay a music store to do it for you. And as a beginner the last thing I'd want to do is have to screw something into my new instrument myself. Metal tuning pegs instead of plastic ones are also something not typically found in ukes at this price point. They are sturdy and comfortable to turn. Plus they look great. Things to be aware of: * Like any stringed instrument, the stings do take a little time before they stretch to the point where they're able to maintain the tuning. So it is completely normal to have to re-tune it frequently at first. But eventually the stings do settle in and hold the tune as they should. * There are some sharper edges along the neck where the fret lines are. But to me this really wasn't a big deal. Not even worth deducting a star over. I've never been cut or even stretched by them and it doesn't interfere with my ability to play it comfortably. Just something to be aware of. Now for the accessories. If this is your first ukulele and you're just trying to get as much as you can for the lowest price possible, these accessories will get you by for now. And some of them are in fact quite good. But first let's start with the gig bag. This gig bag wasn't my favorite. It offers very little padding and doesn't open wide enough to let you lie your uke inside it. Instead you have to slide your uke into it through the side, which can result in your tuning pegs moving and untuning the instrument while trying to store it. It is a very lightweight bag, but that's probably due to the lack of padding and smaller zipper opening. This gig bag is better than nothing and will get you by, but you'll probably want to upgrade it soon. The plastic picks are very nice looking and come in 2 different sizes. It also comes with a pick holder. However, everything I've read says that plastic picks are not recommended for ukuleles due to the wear on the stings and the unappealing plastic-y clicking sound it makes when you use them. I've tried using them anyway and the plastic-y clicks make it sound more like a cheap toy than the beautiful instrument that it is. Most people recommend not using a pick at all. But if you must use a pick, the most recommended types of pick to use on ukuleles are felt, rubber or leather picks. Again these plastic ones will get you by, but you'll likely want to upgrade those too. Now for the good stuff. Getting an extra set of Aquila strings is awesome. These are high quality stings that are some of the best ukulele stings on the market and having an extra set handy is really helpful. The strap is good and I like that it's adjustable. It's a bit plain for my taste. But that's understandable since it's trying to appeal to a broad audience. The included tuner excellent. It can be used for several different types of stringed instruments. It's very easy to use and easy to read, even for someone like myself who is visually impaired. Free online lessons: Okay yes you can find similar lesson videos on YouTube. However, with the Lohanu lessons you get everything you need to get started in one easy to find place. You get a few very easy to follow video lessons, a couple of songs to learn, and the numbered cord charts to go with them, without having to go look for each thing individually. I do wish there were more lessons and songs though. And maybe they'll add some in the future. But the current lessons will at least allow you to get started right out of the box. Despite my few hang ups with some of the accessories, I didn't deduct a star because this company could have easily sold the ukulele alone for this same price and it would've been well worth it. The extras are simply that, extras. If you look around you'll see lower quality ukes for even higher prices that don't come with anything else at all. So even if you end up not using some of the accessories, you will save money on the ones you do find useful and that's a bonus. And if you're a beginner like me, the online lessons are a nice little bonus too. Over all I am extremely happy with this perchance. I LOVE my ukulele and I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a good quality ukulele at an affordable price.

Beautiful Concert Ukulele Package!
I am echoing many other people in expressing my appreciation for this fine instrument and it's surrounding accessories. I took this instrument out of its very secure packaging and was amazed. It far surpassed my expectations at this price range. It has closed Gotoh style tuners and an arched back for better sound projection. The finish is beautiful. The tone is beautiful. Ukuleles characteristically have to be tuned and retuned for the first week due to the strings stretching. Joseph Cheung wisely spent a bit more money to equip this instrument with not only Aquila strings but Aquila Super Nylagut strings to make that adjustment more rapid. These strings are formulated to not stretch as much as older models of string. I got my ukulele the evening of Friday, March 24 and tuned it with the accompanying high quality tuner. It actually settled down rather quickly. Little adjustment was needed after the initial tuning and this is the evening of Sunday, March 26, and it has required only minor adjustments. Due to the fact that ukuleles use nylon strings, they go out of tune more frequently than instruments that use steel strings, hence many ukulele players leave a tuner clipped to the headstock. (Do not put steel string on a uke: they put too much stress for the bridge to withstand, as ukuleles don't use a tailpiece which is a sturdier fixture to attach strings to.) The tuner included with this is quite excellent and easy to read, with a display that glows green for each string as it reaches optimal tuning. The craftsmanship is excellent. For example, I happen to own another basic make of concert ukulele at the same price point as this one. It happens to have fret wire that slightly sticks over the side of the fret-board creating a somewhat rough edge: the Lohanu's fret wires are carefully beveled at the edge of the fret-board and are totally smooth when you run your fingers along them, making handling the neck more comfortable for a child's delicate hands. The tone is absolutely wonderful. I believe, when comparing it to the other competitor's instrument, that the arched back has increased the projection and sustain. you can strum both instruments simultaneously and the Lohanu can still be heard several seconds later, while the other instrument had gone quiet! Additionally, I would be remiss if I did not mention the very nice strap and installed strap buttons on this instrument, which few ukes come with. This goes a long way in making the instrument more playable----a beginner has more on their mind learning chords, music theory and strumming and doesn't need to add worry about holding onto the instrument! If all these other reviews and the above don't convince you that this instrument was astonishingly good, perhaps this will: after several hours of living with the Lohanu Concert Ukulele, I ordered the Lohanu Soprano to use at my job during lunch and before work to get in extra practice time! It is now on it's way to me and I will be more than happy to share my reaction to the Soprano as well! You will not make a mistake buying this and the high quality of this instrument at this price point may well make the difference between someone sticking with the instrument or giving it up. Joseph Cheung can be viewed on a YouTube video demonstrating this his product by Googling "Lohanu Concert Ukulele Bundle". He and his staff are very much concerned about consumer reaction to their merchandise and an included message from him states that if anything is amiss, to please notify him, and the problem will be rectified as soon as possible.

excellent. It is so nice to know that a ...
I have a Lohanu tenor size uke, which I purchased a few months ago. Customer care team is as everyone else is saying... excellent. It is so nice to know that a product that you buy is backed by such great customer service! I'm not sure if it's just one person running the show, but I want to say to them "thank you" for helping me with a minor problem that I had. I was reluctant to contact them 2 months after purchasing my uke, but I'm glad I did, because the problem was immediately resolved without delay. Ok, as for the quality of the ukelele...it stays in tune very well, considering ukes are notorious for needing constant tuning. Since I purchased it, I practice it every day. It's so great to put down the electronics and practice. I pick it up without even thinking about it, and before you know it, an hour has passed. YouTube has many videos of tutorials. There's an older gentleman that teaches you, step by step and chord by chord, how to play Beatles songs. I just purchased the concert sized uke from Lohanu, and it should be arriving Monday. I chose a Lohanu uke without hesitation, due to my excellent experience with the quality of their products and customer service.

Great ukulele at a great price, get it before they catch on!
I have been playing the guitar for over 40 years and I know quality in a musical instrument when I see it. I bought this ukulele to take with me on vacation at the beach. The bundle is exactly as described and is really quite striking to look at. I tuned the ukulele and allowed the strings to settle in for several days before retuning and finally playing the instrument. I was very impressed with the tone and intonation of this well made ukulele. I am pleased with the quality construction and with the attention to detail, such as the installation of the knobs to hold the enclosed neck strap. The bundle included a surprisingly nice tuner. Although I don't use picks when playing the ukulele, this came with 2 picks and a pick holder if you want to use them. The bundle also included a rather thin gig bag which really does not protect the instrument very well, but I intend to purchase a hard shell case for this ukulele, it deserves it. So, in conclusion, let me say that I highly recommend this ukulele if you want to have a nice travel size instrument, it's playability is excellent and it was delivered by UPS on time and well packaged.

Nice Ukulele for a Reasonable Price
As a guitar player, I wanted to add the Ukulele to my repertoire. After extensive shopping, I decided this Lohanu bundle was the best buy. I have not been disappointed. The Lohanu appears to be well made, the neck, bound fret board, and tuning keys are especially well done. I appreciate the strap and strap pins. The carrying bag is not of the highest quality, but is fine for slinging the guitar over your shoulder for local travel. I would certainly purchase the bundle again.

A great value for the price with outstanding customer service
This soprano ukulele bundle from Lohanu is great for someone new to ukuleles. There is so much value for the price you pay, and the ukulele looks great and plays well straight out of the box with no setup. The nut width seems wider or the configuration of the strings on the nut is different than my Cordoba 15SM. I like it better than my Cordoba because it makes positioning my fingers on the frets easier. I also like how low the action is on the strings – very comfortable. The installed strap pins are a nice bonus too...the thought of installing them myself is intimidating! I was contacted by Joseph Chung from Lohanu Ukulele before my order arrived, thanking me for my purchase and offering to remedy any problems with my order. This was really nice, and I will definitely consider buying from Lohanu again. For anyone who is just starting out or interested in learning how to play the ukulele, I highly recommend this bundle.
