I have a 100' CAT7 cable extended by a 16' CAT7 cable between my modem/router and my desktop computer three rooms apart in my apartment. The cables are connected with the UGREEN RJ45 coupler. My computer measure download speeds in excess of 210 Mbits/sec as if my machine were sitting right next to the cable IP modem. I have a 200 Mbit internet service. I am very happy with this installation.

I haven't done a speed test on it to see if it maintains cat6 speeds, but it does carry over POE capability, which is what I needed it to do.

I bought this to experiment with a cat-5 cable for my new home. Its an older home, the kind that has phone jacks in every room. So I wanted to buy the flat cat cables and a good connector for that is this one. I tried the cables with and without the connector and the speed did not drop, it stayed the same, no matter where in my house I used the connector. I know its probably not a worry for some but it is for me. I in fact bought 3 more for my house to run cat-5 through my baseboards, this connector is a little bulky so my contractor cut holes in the drywall behind the baseboard to make this installation seamless.

--- Carl Jr. Review Bottom Line --- Overall I do recommend “RJ45 Coupler, Ugreen In-Line Coupler Cat7/Cat6/Cat5e Ethernet Cable Extender Adapter Female to Female (Black)” Overall I would buy this again. PROs: - Works as stated, no loss of signal. - Initial build quality is good - Robust and it feels strong. CONs: - Its not small or slim I’m running a 50foot Cat5e to this coupler to a 30 foot Cat 6 cable and I am still pulling down 300-350 down and 30 up on XFINITY. Same as by the modem. So I give this coupler a CARL JR FIVE STAR rating. If this review helped give me a like, if it didn’t tell me in the comments why!

Works as stated. Easy to use. Just plug in the ethernet cables on either end of the coupler and voila! -- they work as one longer cable, and I noticed no difference in signal with connecting the 2 cables. The coupler came on time with no problems in packaging. Overall, no complaints whatsoever.

I used this to connect a 25ft Ethernet cable, that I was short maybe 5-8 feet, with another cord to reach my laptop. I tested the connection using a 10/100 Ethernet to USB adapter and plugged in to a dedicated Gigabit Ethernet port on my laptop with no perceptible differences in upload or download speeds. It was easy to install, very lightweight and the size of two AA batteries side by side. I recommend this product if you need to extend your Ethernet cable to reach your device. Thanks for reading.

Original Review of 5 stars: Works as intended. Small and perfect. New Review after 1.5 months: Spotty connection - does not work constantly. Internet checked in-home from the provider. Router, modem, and service are all in good working order. They found the problem to be the female to female extender. This item. Sure, it works. Sure, it works well when it does work. No, it will not work consistently.

Used this to extend one of our security camera cables beyond the 100' length that it came with. Added an extension cable and it works flawlessly. Prefer this coupler over some of the others because (1) it is CAT7 compatible (10gbit), and (2) has a higher temperature rating than others. This is in place in our garage attic so that was an important consideration. Was so happy with this that I ordered a few more to have in back-stock for any future needs. Very good product

want to hard wire your computer and your xbox to your internet but only have one keystone Ethernet outlet? Yeah me too. That's why I bought this handy little guy. I leave it attached to the stock Ethernet cord on the xbox and taped it up somewhere hidden where a second Ethernet cable-that stays in the rooms output jack- can easily reach it. Now when I want to switch from using my computer, to dominating video games with my high speed internet, I simply unplug one and plug in the other. Beautiful. No noticeable loss in speed or increase in heat from resistance either.

I had to use this for our Cat6 Ethernet as our shed needed hard wired Ethernet which also meant having the electrician route underground rated Ethernet cable which is not cheap. So this came in handy to basically connect the cable coming from our ASUS router to the underground Ethernet buried (in a PVC pipe). I haven't had any issues with dropped connections or speed. I've tried with different cables so they all work fine and is a quality made product.
