It takes a little getting used to at first. You have to the cigarette or candle wick directly in between the nodes to light them, so you have to learn how to hold your cigarette just right. Once you get used to it, it's ridiculously easy to use. I love that you can just plug it into the computer to recharge; very convenient. It charges faster if you have a powered usb port or cell phone cube that plugs into an outlet (laptops try a little too hard sometimes to control the power to your usb ports lol). You just have to remember to keep checking it and unplug it as soon as the light turns green. Over-charging it will wear the battery out and keep your lighter from lasting. Recommend!

I bought this lighter to keep on my motorcycle. I've never had a problem lighting my smoke at 70 mph+. One year later and this thing still performs like it did on day one. I'm ordering another today for my father and his bike. Once in a great while the arc points will need cleaning. You'll know when the arc fails to connect to itself. Typically I pinch my fingers around the tips and give it a good rub and it's good to go.. who wouldn't be though 😁 . Don't hesitate to buy if you're considering or a smoker/biker. I promise it hurts if you zap yourself or someone else, accidentally or intentionally. So far, because I use it on my bike only, I charge it twice a year so it holds a good charge. Feels like a solid build as well. I've dropped it on the highway while riding with no adverse effects. Get yours today!!!! You won't regret it.

It's a major pain to light a cigarette because the arc size is just small! I have to squeeze my cigarette into the arc to light it and then turn it around and light it and turn it around and light it... It's probably good if you can't get your normal one to work. More like a novelty item that anything else. People seem to have trouble charging or keeping a charge. I've read somewhere that if you charge this using a adapter that outputs higher than .5 amps it will damage the unit. Most USB adapters output 1a and newer ones output 2a. So, it'll be really hard to find an adapter for this unit and not to damage it from charging. Edit: Five stars. Sorry, didn't understand how this product worked! Now I get it! You put your cigarette in front of the arc and with a up and down motion you light your cigarette! It's fast and under the five second rule they have for damaging the lighter! Very fast and nice!

I had some reservations at first about buying this type of lighter, as I had read reviews about problems lighting cigarrettes due to restricted space between the arcs, issues with charging, and a few other things. Now, after owning and constantly using the product for several weeks I can easily say none of that has proven true. The lighter was nicely packaged and undamaged when it arrived. The space between the arcs, while small, does not affect its use at all, as the electric arcs will slightly shift into contact as you bring the cigarrette close to them. The lighter holds a charge nicely, only needing to be charged about once or twice a week, despite being used frequently as I smoke up to a pack a day. Charging is quick and easy, my only complaint is that the included USB charging cord is too short, something easily fixed as the lighter can be charged using any other USB charger cable (such as a phone's). I very much consider this to have been an excellent purchase and look forward to continue using the lighter and similar products in the future.

This lighter works better then I expected. I am not a smoker so I use it for other things, lighting candles, incense, etc. It works great for these. I find that it works best in short bursts. I am very pleased and satisfied and would recommend to anyone.

This lighter is really cool. I didnt know these existed until i searched amazon for cigarette items. I bought it for my senior citizen mother as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. She loves it. It works in the wind when a regular lighter wont. Im talking major wind. Lights right up. It creates a small arc of what looks like electricity and when a cigarette is put into this arc it flames right up. It's lasted her for a week without a recharge and she smokes about a pack a day. Feels about the same weight and size as a zippo. Definitely a quality item. If you want a lighter you can use in bad weather and don't like having to keep buying lighters this is for you. Didn't expect much from this but it's become one of her favorite items she got for Christmas. Recharge takes about an hour wirh rhe usb charger and lasts over a week.

I love this weird little device. Neat gift item. In fact, perfect gift item for that person who has everything...they likely don't have this Tesla Coil lighter. It makes a neat high-pitched zappy sound. It lights up incense, candles, fireworks and paper instantly. Very neato. The pyro within you deserves the intrigue.

This is a very beautiful lighter! Mine is black/gold (I don't remember if there were other choices) and it feels substantial in your hand. All the surfaces are highly polished. The cover clicks open/closed easily with one hand and has a mechanical "assist" of some kind which suggests it is very well made. There is not the slightest play or wobble in the cover and it does not use a hinge as does famous fueled "Z" lighter. Many other products of this kind claim they are "wind resistant" , avoiding the words "wind proof" but this one does use those words and I cannot blow it out. I have only had mine for a week but I cannot imagine what may go wrong. This lighter far, far exceeds my expectations.

This is an electric lighter that is charged by a USB cable. It takes around an hour to charge and lasts for many days. It charges just fine for a minute if you can't wait for it to charge 100%. The two small tips that look like a miniature taser is where the electricity flows (or, archs) - molecules are excited and they combust. Similar to a miniature plasma gun. The great thing about this lighter is that you won't burn your hands. You can light quite a few candles and not worry about dealing with ashes or burning your thumb on using a butane lighter. I don't smoke cigarettes, but a friend purchased a similar lighter and loves it for this purpose - he can simply recharge in his car and be on his way to work. I'm not sure how it performs lighting larger objects. I see a lot of people lighting the edges of a cigar - I think that may be possible. But, for the price, does it matter? My pictures doesn't do the lighter much justice, but it's a classy looking piece of technology - just don't electrocute yourself!

I am a non-smoker first of all. I've been carrying a lighter for years. It seems like I just tend to need one all the time for building fires, burning important bank documents because I don't have a shredder and since I'm a welder lighting oxi acetalyne torches (not recommended). I used to carry the little Bic lighters but they seemed to always run out of gas bouncing around in my pocket all day. Also once I started welding I was greatly cautioned against carrying Bic lighters because they were known to blow up if a spark hit just right. I went to Zippos and they were great except I'd forget about it and whenever I needed it the gas seemed to have evaporated. Anyway one day I was talking to a friend and he lit a cigarette with one of these. I thought I'd try it and bought one last july. The crazy thing is this lighter is still going strong. Ive started a bunch of fires with it using pine straw or paper as my kindling and lit countless cutting torches (I never really started doing this until I got the electric lighter, do not do this with a gas lighter). It still works great. It takes a little practice to start a fire properly with it. It's definantly a little different but man is it effective. I charge it about once a month sometimes more. In november I was out hiking and it started raining. All I had was this lighter in my pocket and it was soaked by the time I made camp. I had a little toilet paper in a plastic bag so when there was a break in the rain I grabbed a bunch of small twigs and a wad of toilet paper and this little lighter started right up and lit the toilet paper and sure enough I had a fire going. Really great lighter even if you're a non smoker. I'm also a blacksmith hobbyist and have started multpile forges with this thing. Highly recommend.
