- Door Buddy ---> this simple door latch that will keep your dog (if slightly larger than cat) out of the room with the cat food and litter box while still allowing your cat to have easy access.
- Simpler alternative ---> Door Buddy may be simple, but it works! Why struggle with pet gates that are bulky and cumbersome to use? Why cut a permanent hole in your door to install an interior cat door? Why force your cat to jump into and use a top entry litter box that may make her feel trapped? Try Door Buddy first and see for yourself why our customers love it so much!
- Installs in seconds and is easy to use ---> just peel and stick to the door and door frame using the strong 3M adhesive (2 extras included). The simple lock and unlock latch allows you to use it from either side of the door giving you quick and convenient access to the room.
- Adjustable and customizable ---> use the adjuster on the strap to make the width of the door opening wider or narrower to work with the exact sizes of your cat and dog. You can even alter the position where you stick the plastic pieces to make it further customizable. Or, install on the back of the door to make it stronger, especially for larger and more persistent dogs. Compatible with all types of doors from Bi-fold doors to pocket doors and even double doors!
- How does it work ---> Door Buddy allows the door to any interior room to open just wide enough so cats can easily enter or exit, but at the same time keep it narrow enough so dogs (if slightly larger than cat) cannot get in. Sometimes keeping the peace in a household with both cats and dogs can be frustrating and a challenge. Door Buddy provides an easier and less cumbersome way to give cats a space of their own.

Easy, inexpensive, and effective!
Excellent idea! I was looking for any means to keep my dogs out of the cat box, as if it isn't enough of a mess to deal with. I contemplated getting a kitty door but didn't want to cut a hole in my laundry room door. I also looked into alternative litter boxes that are specially made to keep dogs out but didn't want to spend a fortune on my 15 y/o cat that can't jump as easily now. Then, I ran across this product! I was sceptical about the 3M tape holding but it's done the trick for two weeks now. It has kept both of my medium sized, persistent dogs out as well as my 4 y/o. Now if I could get my teenager to remember to latch it every time she goes in there. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy, inexpensive solution to keeping their canines out of their felines area.

Have A Cat & A Dog? You NEED this!
A friend recommended this because I was complaining that we had to have a spot on the counter (Ick!🙄) for the cat to eat-otherwise the dog would eat the cat's food. I really didn't want the cat on my counters(😒!!), but couldn't figure out another way to feed the cat without putting a hole in one of my lovely doors🤔. Also, the dog was constantly getting into the litter box😣 and who wants to get doggie kisses that smell like litter, right? Double Ick!! Did I say that the only place that the litter box fit into is a very small kitchen corner? Triple Ick!!! Thankfully I'm a Prime member😎 and got it super quick!💨💌 We applied it immediately! Instructions were quite clear and recommended allowing a curing time of 24 to 48 hours💤. We couldn't wait more than 24 hours because we were just too excited. In the package was an extra set of adhesive materials just in case we had an issue. We followed the directions for reapplying one and only because I applied it off level. I was able to save the 2nd set of adhesives too. In addition to being able to move the cat bowl (No More Kitchen Counter feeding🎉) and the litter box into the other room🎆, we now have freed up that kitchen corner clutter! I won't remind you of all the Ickiness that we no longer have. Just suffice it to say that I'm one happy pet Mama. In case that isn't good enough, they put a coupon in the package for 20% off of a second one in case I discover I needed it...now I'm trying to figure out do I wanna second one just because I 'want' it? 🤣

Keeps my 2 cocker spaniels out of my cat’s room and they don’t scratch the door anymore
I was at a loss with what to do with my two cocker spaniels and there if session with eating my cats food and rifling through her litter box. I had tried gates, putting boxes in front of the door, posterboard… All in an attempt to leave the door open just enough for my cat to be able to come and go but to keep my dogs out. This was a nightmare for about two months and then I came on Amazon to purchase a baby gate. We are going to be selling the house soon so I was frustrated that I was going to have to drill into the wall but I did not have another solution… Until I saw this product. I was honestly apprehensive when I saw that you stick each piece to the door frame… I did not think that any amount of stickiness would keep my dogs from getting into this room. It has worked better than I ever imagined. Because the door is open A few inches, they somehow are not nearly as obsessed with getting in there versus if the door we’re close completely. They can fit their heads around the corner to see a little bit inside and that is just about enough for them. My cat had lived outside for 13 years as she was a feral cat that my dad fed and head warm houses and heat lamps for and I decided after my parents’ passing to try to move her inside for two main reasons: There were consistent subzero temperatures in the winter and while the heat lamps it always worked, I was nervous for her safety. Secondly, I wanted to see how she could do inside so that when we do sell the house, ideally she will already be acclimated with my dogs inside for when we move to my next home, which will likely be a condo or apartment and not a house. Moving her in has been a breeze… She is very happy and the issue with my dogs going into her room was really the only problem and the Door Buddy really solved the problem. I highly recommend it!

Love it
love the Door Buddy! I found another use for it. The Door Buddy is also good for introducing a new cat into the household. I adopted a new kitten and my adult cat was outraged! I separated the kitten by putting him in the guest room. After a couple of days I used the Door Buddy to just crack the door open so my adult cat could safely sniff the new kitten. Every 2 days I adjusted the DB to allow the door to open a little more. In a week my adult cat was trying to play with the kitten through the door! This is a great product and so easy to set up and use. Thanks!

Oh this is working so well!
I have a small dog - 15 pounds - so I wasn't sure this would work for me. But I was getting desperate. I had set up obstacles in front of the door to the place where the litter box is, but he kept getting through them (latest was a cat scratching post, 3 litter bags, and a different scratching post...dog got thru them). I was tired of chasing him out of it, tired of his poop-breath. So I got one of these. Even with a small dog, it has worked GREAT. I can shut the door enough that he can't get in, but the cats can squeeze in. He is definitely trying to get in, and is frustrated about it, but so far so good. (For those of you who said your dogs burst through, I got an email suggesting letting the tape cure for a couple days to help with the seal). I did accidentally (i.e. before reading the instructions) install it in the "strongest" method - back of door and inside of frame. I assume sooner or later he will get through; but I'll get a couple more of these so I can just put a new one on. I'm also thinking of putting another one on the door just to help make it stronger. What a relief!

Great idea!
We have used it in the manner it is advertised for for about a year. It is/was to keep my 2 smallish dogs out of the kitty room. We adjusted it so they could not get in but big enough for our 7 cats. It was very easy to install, like maybe 3 minutes. Turns out our dogs can still squeeze through. Not the fault of the manufacturer. In the meantime, our one year old grandson tried to get through when we weren't looking. When we saw him he was trying his darnest to squeeze through and thankfully he was unable to get in. The door wasn't open enough and the adhesive held tight. We also put one on our basement door, with it open just wide enough that the cats can get through (more litter boxes down there), but my grandson cannot. Am ordering another one for our bedroom door. We dont care if the pets get in, but to keep our grandson out. It can be placed as high on the door as you need to so the little ones cannot reach it.

Easy to install and gets the job done
I initially bought this as a stop-gap measure, because I had a dog that was determined to eat out of the cat box, but I was having trouble finding a baby gate with a cat door that could work with a 23 inch doorway. Overall though this seems to have proven to be a better solution. My dog seems to get what a closed door means ("No!") in the same way that my cats understand what a partially open door means ("Heck, Yeah!"). There hasn't been nearly as much drama as we had with our last cat door/baby gate where somehow a 50 pound dog manages to wiggle through a hole that my 15 pound cat considered just a little too narrow. It's easy to install and gets the job done. My one word of advice is that if you have a toddler, you're probably going to have more than one conversation with them about when the little strap on the door should be latched. Right after we started using it, he decided to try latching my into the room with it, and while it popped open rather than breaking when I opened the door again, I wouldn't want to do that too often. You can also install it out of a kid's reach, but I did want him to still be able to use that bathroom.

A Life-Saver for My Fat Cat!
I actually absolutely love the idea of this product. I have two cats. One is significantly larger than the other (as in one cat is 18.5+ lbs!). The bigger cat is very food motivated and tends to eat everything in sight. I had wracked my brain for something to stop him from eating the smaller cat's food. We tried placing her food bowl up higher, but amazingly he can jump really high despite his weight. We've tried meal feeding, but the smaller cat is a really slow eater and likes to graze. In comes Door Buddy! This is a genius idea. Since the larger cat is a bit bigger than the size of a smallish dog and very rotund (see photos!), I figured this was the answer. So far we have had our laundry room blocked off with the small cat's food inside, the larger cat cannot fit through the door way! This has been a life saver - literally! If my cat doesn't lose weight (he's supposed to be 8-10 lbs according to my vet), then he's at a significantly high risk for health issues - especially diabetes. Preventing him from over eating is my top priority! So thank you!!! Highly recommend!

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL AND A REAL LIFESAVER!! LOVE IT!!
This product is absolutely wonderful and a real lifesaver!! My 10 month old puppy started this bad habit and since my cat is 20 years old, I couldn't really change his routine. My cat is very thin and is able to make it through the door opening with no problem however, the puppy who is only approximately 10 lbs can only fit her head through. It is VERY simple to unlatch the strap in order to clean the cat box. Thank you SO, SO much for providing such a wonderful, simple, fast solution to the bad behavior of our new puppy!!!

Just what we needed.
This is one of those products that you get and you're like "how didn't I think of this myself?" It's a great way to keep the dog out of the litter box. We have a child, too, but he was never the problem. My dog thinks the litter box is a snack bar (gross), and we had resorted to blocking him out of the closet with the mess that was a lamp and the cats' scratching post, which looked awful and added clutter to the house - not to mention, it was a pain in the butt to move both every time we had to do the litter. This adjustable strap lets you decide how open you want the door to be, and it's perfect. The only thing I have to get used to now is having the door partially open all the time. I have to keep fighting the urge to close it. This may sound weird, but we had taken the door off the hinges and have had an open litter closet for over a decade now, so the transition will take something to get used to. We've only had the dog for a year, though, which is why the time has come to put the door back on the closet and to finally get rid of our rudimentary setup once and for all so that the house can go back to normal. This strap allows us to do just that, so thank you!
