Well supported product. I bought this about 2 weeks ago. When I look at Amazon reviews, after I ascertain that a product is in the 4-5 star range, I look at the one star reviews, for both percentage of negative reviews... and, how the manufacturer or seller responds to these reviews. In this case, i-Tronics had responded response to every one of the negative reviews I read, was a reason to choose this product, because the vendor was watching the reviews, and responding with an offer to resolve what ever the issue was. Another reason I purchased this was the life time warranty of the probe. A previous device I had, went bad, and I suspected the probe was the problem. So this was a big plus. Several days after the product arrived, I tested it with boiling water, and it read 210 degrees (at 600 feet above sea level)... which is definitely close enough for cooking. Unfortunately, as I was playing with it, I discover the that middle button on the top of the device as faulty. When the i-tronics reached out to me to provide a review in an email, I explained that as of that moment my review would probably two stars because of this problem. (but I was going to live with it). :They responded by immediately shipping me another unit, and said not need to return the old one. The second one seems fine. (and I've ended up with an extra probe). This kind of vendor/manufacturer responsiveness is impressive. This is a reason to select this thermometer, especially given that they offer a 5 year warranty on the device, and unlimited probe replacement. (Assuming they are still around when you need a replacement). But, for $15 it seems hard to imagine one could go wrong here.

Great price and very simple to use / program and it works like a CHAMP! Helped make the Prime Rib for Christmas dinner GREAT!!! I set it for 145 degrees and stuck it in the oven, about three hours later "ding dong" the alarm sounded and presto prefect prime rib!!!

We used it for the first time on Labor Day, on a 7 lb brisket in our electric smoker. Normally I smoke a brisket at 1.5 hours per pound, this time I set the temp to 185 and after 9 hours and 45 minutes it was done. I double checked the temp with an instant read thermometer and it was spot on. Suffice to say my guests devoured the brisket. The unit was easy to set , and the display was easy to read for these old eyes. I left the probe in during the entire cooking time, and the display attached to the smoker door.

This ThermoPro Meat Thermometer works as advertised, I purchased this on 5/25/19 and used it to cook a 3 lb "Prime" Tomahawk Ribeye in the oven at 275 degrees, set the ThermoPro to 120 degrees. At 113 degrees i started heating up my cast iron pan. The alarm went off at 120 degrees as planned. I immediately placed my steak into the cast iron pan with some fresh Kerry Gold Irish butter along with some fresh Thyme from my local whole Foods. 1 minute on each side to sear and 30 seconds on each edge. Perfect reverse sear from crust to crust for a wonderful juicy mouth watering medium rare restaurant style steak. I was so flippin happy. I recommend this product as this ThermoPro takes the guessing out of cooking, especially for reverse sear. Competitor products are as much as $100 and this one comes in at just under $16. Can't beat it!

First of all, the main reason I bought this was because I damaged the probe on my last (3) thermometer(s) (different brands BTW). When I got this one, I discovered that they will replace the probe if it ever gets damaged even if "...caused by careless or improper use...". That got them 5 stars right there. The included probe is all metal. The angle of the probe makes it easier to insert, use, and pull out of your food. There is no plastic end to melt or pull free from the probe. The unit arrived well packaged, and is about the 1/2 the size of a deck of playing cards. It has a convenient and reasonably strong magnet on the back for sticking to a metal surface. It also has a fold out plastic prop to set the unit on a counter top at about a 45 degree angle. Buttons and switches feel reasonably solid for a device at this price point. The controls are fairly easy to figure out and use. It is programmed with 6 presets, for various types of meat and fish. It is also easy to set a custom temperature. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I wasn't sure how well this product would be but to my surprise it works excellent. Now I am not from the company, I am a Disable Marine Vet and it was easy even for me. I used it for the first time on a Full Turkey Breast, went on Google to make sure what the Inside Temperature of the Turkey should be and then turned on the machine and all I had to do was to push one or the other buttons down (One button is to set the temperature higher and the other to set the temperature lower. After I did that, then the only thing leaved to do was to pull off the sleeve for the Probe and put it in the Turkey (NOT by any bones) and then put the Turkey in the oven and close the oven door slowly but firmly and then put the Monitor where ever it is easier for you to see it, I put mine on the counter top next to the oven. Then just wait until the machine beeps as a microwave oven would. Take out the Meat and be careful to not touch the Probe (IT IS STILL VERY HOT), I used a Kitchen Towel to take the Probe out. Let the Meat cool off a bit and then cut and enjoy. My Turkey came out excellent, nice and juicy. After the Probe cools down, I just put it under the running water on warm and used some soap and cleaned the Probe, let it dry and replace the tubbing back on the Probe to protect it. Again, I personnel LOVE it and I will be give this product to my Family for Christmas. P/S-The Company in NO WAYS asked me to alter my thoughts in giving them a Positive, this was a Consumer just telling LIKE IT IS.

*Update Aug 10, 2018: The unit failed today when I was baking. At first I thought it might be the battery running down, but I replaced it with a new battery and same problem. Seemed to be reading considerably cooler than it should. I tested in boiling water, and sure enough it was about 165F, instead of 212F. I contacted I-Tronics, and they replied very quickly and are sending me a new probe free of charge. Very happy with their service. I use this almost every day for baking bread, and it works great. The braided metal cable has held up very well for daily usage, and having the ability to disconnect it works great. The probe is also fairly easy to clean. I think it's stainless steel. The interface is okay, it has up and down buttons for temperature, and there are some presets you can use if you want. It starts out at 212F.

I picked this up on a lightning deal, though to be fair, the lightning deal only knocked a couple bucks off its already reasonable price. It would of course be awesome if it were wireless so I could track the temperature from in the house, but that would have cost more. I've been using this heavily with my smoker where I don't want to be opening the lid all the time to use a conventional instant-read thermometer, and it's worked wonderfully and very accurately. I have double-checked it with my good quality instant read digital thermometer and both are consistently in agreement. I love that I can keep this thing in the meat and that it will alert me when I've reached my custom temperature threshold. I don't recommend using its preprogrammed temperature settings, as they seem a bit conservative for what I normally use for a given level of doneness. This also is a very durable item; I've already accidentally left it outdoors for ~24 hours during which time it not only had direct sunlight on it but also ended up getting rained on pretty good. I let it dry for a few hours before turning it back on, and it turned on no problem. I've also forgotten to turn it off once for ~24 hours (separate occasion from the outdoor incident) and the included battery is still going strong. All in all, I recommend this highly. Just one word of caution...don't forget that the braided metal cord will get HOT. It's kind of cumbersome removing it from the meat when you're ready to pull everything off the grill; be very careful not to touch the hot probe or metal braided cord. Ask me how I know that one...

Used mine once grilling chicken quarters. So far so good...I like the guide temp that tells you (beeps) when it's time to remove the food from the grill. The thermo sensing needle can be sharp so be careful...Also remember to handle with oven gloves as the mesh wire and the metallic needle can get too hot to handle. My one small complaint is the chicken says 185 degrees farenheit for "done," but most sources state 175. I'm a novice griller so I don't know if there's a difference between white or dark meat for chicken. All in all, this has made charcoal grilling, and possibly cooking much easier for me since I'm color blind; pink, un-done meat is hard for me to tell until it's well-cooked into tough done-ness that's hard to chew. There are three buttons up top for setting what type of meat you're cooking, and I believe a timer too. I only used the live reading of temp with the guide-temperature that tells you when your selected meat is done. There's a pop up stand that lets you put this upright onto a table. I love that it's a cord vs conventional metal rod food thermometer because I can poke and leave the sensor in the meat for long periods with a much smaller footprint--enabling me to close my grill's lid or use with my oven if I were baking. I hand washed the sensor after I was done with it, and it's good as new. I can't say much about accuracy since I'm a novice cook and don't really care if this thing were 2-3 degrees off, but from what I can tell, it's very accurate (confirmed with my AcuRite outdoor thermometer/temp sensor when reading air temp). Finally, the fact that I can use a easy to change, standard sized AAA battery is also very good cos I don't have to worry about buying special small button batteries and unscrewing things to get to it, which is what regular type, electronic food thermometers use.
