If you are even thinking of getting this product, do it. Makes the best burnished edges with minimal effort. Great for slicking down the flesh side too. You don’t need a glass burnished either, your wooden one will work just fine.
burnishing and edging leather can be a time and profit consuming activity. I've tried everything and every process on the internet, most work pretty well and give your project a nice edge, especially on vege-tanned leather. This stuff works on everything and easily gives you the best edge I've ever seen, I first saw the product on the videos from Fisher Workshop as couple of years ago. I finally bought it and i love it. It is great.
I like using beeswax to burnish, but cannot deny that the results from Tokonole are far better. Additionally, it would also appear that Tokonole treated edges are more resistant to wear and tear than beeswax treated edges, but I haven't really tested this. One drawback to this stuff is that it takes more time and care to apply compared to beeswax.
Ask anyone what is in this stuff, and you will get ZERO response. It smells like facial moisturizer to me! But whatever it is, it does what you've heard it does. Glass edges! (you do have to put in the work, beveling, sanding, Tokonoleing, sanding Tokonoleing) It is also useful for flattening out and solidifying the flesh side of leather. Everyone said, buy the smaller size, it will last a lifetime. We're probably a 1/5th of the way through the small bottle in about two weeks now. But we do a lot of leatherwork. Do us a favor and please don't buy up all the Tokonole, though. We don't need the price going up anymore. All the best, crafters!
I’ve been a leathercrafter for over 20 years and I’ve primarily used gum trag for burnishing edges. Not anymore. This stuff is simply fantastic! It allows you to create a polished edge with minimal effort. Just wish it was easier to get in the States without a long wait for the shipping from Asia.
Received in good condition, really like this to finish edges of my leather. Better than the old Trag i use to use. I also use this to smooth out the fuzzy side of the leather with a glass slicker. Very nice
First off... it smells like elmers glue... I did not expect that... but that doesn't matter at all. It works GREAT makes slicking edges super fast and easy and it takes almost nothing to do it! also love that it can be used to slick down pieces of leather that the flesh side is rougher than one would like. If you are thinking about getting it... GET IT. If you are going ehhh, wax or gum trag or whatever is fine...NO. ITS. NOT.. I thought the same until I got talked into giving this stuff a go and WOAH the work gets cut down a lot! STOP READING THIS AND ADD IT TO YOUR CART ALREADY FOR REAL!

Good stuff
Works great, less time, used glass plate to slick back of belt and a wooden slicker on wallet
