Excellent product

This is an excellent product. We ditched cable and went with an outside antenna. We get plenty of channels with it. I bought this product to be able to record off antenna tv. But, not only can you record, but it boosts my antenna and I get even more channels now. I would recommend this to everyone

Great product

I have been looking for a way to record programs from the tv. I ran across the little tv converter, I read some of the reviews when people was saying this thing don't work, so I figured I would try it. I'm what you call a tech guy.. so I ordered 2 they came in today, hooked one up it took about 5 mis for it to run its setup, but after that it works great. Would I buy this product again yes I would. Great picture

Good with projector

I was originally going to cancel my DirectTv and use this for recording, but they lowered my monthly fee, so I decided to stay. However I did get a chance to record over the air broadcast with this using a portable hard drive and t works great. The menu however is more like a vcr for programming. I now decided to hook this up using an old rabbit ear antennae which works better that the one that came with it and I hooked it up to my projector in my garage. Man it works perfect. It instantly turns your projector into a TV that you can move around anywhere. I still have the hard drive connected to it and can pause TV and record. I think it is great for this purpose. This does have better quality playback than a Magnavox DVR recorder that I used previously.

VERY Easy To Use - Love It.

First of all I dont have cable, I dont have the money and refuse to spend 100 a month or more to watch crap. I am not the most Tech Savy person, But so far I have figured out how to connect it. (Very easy...why because everything you need is in the box) I have figured out how to record my shows at night and return home to watch them when I can. I am using a 32GB flash drive to record. Also I figured out I can watch one channel and record another...WOW. Its like a VCR (because it records and plays back). So worth the money, So Glad I found this. My next thing to figure out is how to schedule recording...I'll will get it.

Cable no more!!

I got th his for my parents guest bedroom and the picture quality is amazing! You can get about 25 channels with antenna in the box it will increase to 30-40 with a $20 antenna. Use a stronger antenna with this converterbox for more channels.... It is cheaper than paying for cable by far.

Great for receiving and recording local broadcasts

Works better than expected. Great for receiving and recording local broadcasts. My area picks up well over 120 digital channels. Also can view content from an external HD. An excellent choice to replace overpriced cable/Tivo services if you're content with LOCAL digital broadcasts and watching programming at your convenience. Not a complaint but more an observation.... seems to work better with a powered external desktop hard drive (Like a WD "My Book") than an portable external (WD "My Passport" etc..). I may try a powered USB hub to test options in the future - will update this review at that time. (I purchased this item on Amazon & was not paid or this review.)

I'd been using a basic cable package. By installing this unit I lost one channel that interested me but picked up two others that are also good. So, now I'm getting everything I was paying extra monthly, for free. I have a digital TV and the picture clarity is much better. I live in the suburbs of a medium sized city about 20 miles from the major antenna and the 1080p works great. Next step is to cut the cable. My only disappointment is not being able to connect my computer to stream movies.

Antenna placement is key

I bought this PVR (personal video recorder) to record digital broadcast programs. It does this nicely. Current date and time grabbed off the air so you don’t need to enter that. Broadcast program guide displayed. Please know that the antenna and placement is vital to receiving the number and quality of your broadcast channels. And how far you are from the broadcast station transmitting antenna is a factor. First you must to do a channel search to get the stations. Contents include the unit, HDMI cable, remote and a small flat antenna. And an instruction booklet. External memory USB thumb drive needed for storage – not included. USB port on front of unit. I don’t mind providing the storage. Can pull the USB and view recorded programs on PC in .mts format (using VLC media player). Pros: Price, small unit. Nice menus. This will also play .jpg pictures, .mp3 audio and .mp4 video that I loaded to the USB. Cons: Cannot select program to record from program guide. Must enter channel, date, start & end times etc.

I attached a signal booster to the unit and it works perfect..

I use the Digital box on a monitor. I use in a room with no windows. I had a little digital freeze. I attached a signal booster to the unit and it works perfect.......Shows like the Samsung QLED TV. The unit not only capture local channels but also some movie channels...old movies but they are free. The USB port gives the user the ability to play movies and music from a thumb drive...Great Product...Great price. Love it

I am very impressed by the speed at which this product got to me. I think I expected the time to be quite a bit longer but I was pleasantly surprised.
