In my humble opinion this is the best thermometer available

Awesome tool to have in any kitchen and at the BBQ. It's so easy to use and instantly tells you the temperature, no waiting. Add to that, there is a list for all meats safe internal temperature and includes the doneness you want, (rare, med, well done) ulisted right on the meter. Super duper! You can turn it off to save battery life and it folds so you won't accidentally poke yourself on the probe. Very well designed with everything you need right at hand for your next steak, chicken or even liquid/milk or water temperature, for water needed to be added, to say, making bread dough. I have always used one of those pen type meters, but those take their time to read the core temperature of a steak and take forever with a whole chicken. I never have the chart with all the safe-to-eat temps listed at hand, always have to rummage through cook books. I will never reach for anything but this tool for any temperature measuring.

It’s magnetic 😍

So pleased this guy hangs out next to my oven on the side of the fridge. No more shoveling through drawers trying to find it. When people ask I joke it’s a rectal thermometer...for a chicken. I imagine one could keep it under their BBQ side tray thing. Not sure how it would or could work on a magnetic knife wall rack. Fine so far, fast but not instant

I bought it for my husband for Father's Day. This is his second "instant read" thermometer. I purchased a Smartro thermometer a few weeks ago. He liked it, but we wanted one to leave in the camper and another at home. I purchasedSMARTRO ST43 Meat Thermometer Instant Read Cooking Food Thermometer Digital Touch-Screen Thermometer for Candy, BBQ, Kitchen, Grilling, Smoker first, and this one because I it was less expensive than the Smartro. It was also going to be nice to have different thermometers in different locations. We tried this thermometer on meats, chicken, soup and oil. It's been fine so far, but there are a few observations: First the thermometer is not waterproof and is strictly hand wash only. This wasn't surprising because of the electronic components.A happy surprise is that the AAA battery is included. I didn't see that in the listing, but was glad to see it included. A few more observations are: Speed - The thermometer is fast, but I wouldn't necessarily call it instant. Temperature starts registering in a couple of seconds. It sometimes takes around 10 seconds to fully stabilize. Accuracy - There was a 2-3 degree difference when checked against the other thermometer. The difference isn't enough to bother me, but I know some cooks need exact accuracy. What I liked about the GDealer Probe storage - the probe folds against the unit like a pocket knife. It is spring loaded and flips out instantly. I feel like the probe is protected and really like this feature. The down side of this type of storage is that the hinge could become a weak point. Auto-off - this is great for obvious reasons. Cost - it's a good buy a less than $10. Size- It easily fits in a pocket. Chart - The front of the thermometer has a cooking chart. I really like having this reference. The only thing about it is that the print on the chart is small. What I didn't like: Calibration - It's not there. I'm okay with that. Pros will probably find this more problematic than home cooks. Magnet - The magnet on the back is worthless for holding the probe on a refrigerator. No backlight - My fault for not reading more closely. My husband says there isn't anything that he doesn't like. I'm giving it 5 stars because we're both happy. However, people who need to be able to calibrate or have exact temperatures may be unhappy. Just to state plainly... this review is not bought, sponsored or anything. Opinions are mine.:)

Great product for the price

Great product for the price. Not as fast as a ThermoWorks Thermapen (usually about 6-8 seconds for temp to stabilize, as apposed to 3), but at 1/4 price, I'll be fine waiting a few more seconds. Haven't tested for accuracy but, if it's off, it ain't by much cuz everything's coming out just right. The temp guide comes in handy. If your a professional cook or cooker you may want to spring for something that's fancier (i.e. quicker and possibly more accurate), but for the other 98% of us out there this will do perfectly. Just purchased my third one as mine keep "disappearing" at BBQ's and camping trips.

Great customer service!

I'm updating my review - the same day I posted the original review (see below), I got a comment asking me to contact them with Amazon order number. I figured why not. They replied to my email right away asking me if I opened the probe before turning it ON, well, duh me, I hadn't! So make sure to OPEN the probe, then push the ON button :) I'm thoroughly impressed by their prompt, courteous customer service! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I bought this about 3 months ago (thus can't return) and didn't even open the package until today. It came with AAA battery, so I thought it needed a new battery. After trying with 3 separate brand new batteries, I've come to a sad conclusion = this thing does NOT work!

Excellent design and value......one suggestion for improvement

I like the fold-up design and the simple function. It works quickly and there is no learning curve. There is one curious thing. I noticed in the fotos about the product that it is magnetic and there is foto of the product on a metal cabinet (maybe a refrigerator). Nice feature. Not the deciding factor in me buying the product, but nice. Except...the magnet is not strong enough to actually hold onto any metal object. It slides down the refrigerator and several other metal surfaces that i tried it on. It's not a big deal to me, that is not the reason I bought the product. I do suggest that if there is a foto that shows that aspect of the product, it creates an expectation that is not met by the product which was delivered to me.

Great value alternative to the Thermapen

This is a great thermometer at a great price. I also own an original Thermapen thermometer that I received as a gift several years ago and is my most used tool in my kitchen. I purchased this thermometer because it appeared to be a knock off of the Thermapen, which retails for about $90 and I was looking for something less expensive that I could use for making soap. At $12.99 with free prime shipping, this one more than exceeded my expectations, to my surprise, it's actually more accurate than my Thermapen, which rounds up or down to the nearest degree, while this one gives the temperature in decimal points. I also received a very nice email from the vendor stating that they covered the thermometer for 6 months in case of damage. The only negative thing I can say about it is that the cooking temperatures printed on the thermometer are not the most accurate, but I don't use them anyway. Also, the probe part of the thermometer folds and I've noticed it doesn't like to stay closed at times, but considering it has an on off button, this is less of a concern. The original Thermapen has no button, so you have to keep it folded to protect the battery life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyway, it's really a great value for what you get.

Excellent Thermometer, Great Price, Reputable Company

After reading all of the reviews, I decided this Instant Read Thermometer was the very best thermometer with the very best price. I bake artisan bread and it's very important that I remove the bread from the oven at the correct temperature. I also like that it registers higher temperatures than other thermometers I reviewed. I like the easy reference Meat Temperature Guide on the face of the thermometer and because the thermometer arrives with a battery already installed it's ready to use right out of the box! I highly recommend this product AND Global Dealer on the Amazon Marketplace. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future!!!!!
