Wish I had sooner!
Wish i got this before our basement flooded! As far as I can tell this house has not had water in the basement for at least 30years or never. Thus no sump pump. We were standing in 1.75" of water in our basement not able to pull any more water because none of the local stores had the WaterBUG or a pump that could pull lower at high volume. Once the water stopped coming in the ShopVac did the job finally. I tested the WaterBUG, it does pull down to around a 1\16" .

Works great!
Works great and pumps fast. I am using for a small leak in basement when it rains. I made a pvc containment sealed with caulk so it would allow water to build up to a suitable level to allow pump and water sensor to work. Using with the Hydrocheck HC7000 water sensing pump controller and works awesome. Will draw water down to about 1/8 inch of water or less but with water sensor it only pumps down to about a 1/4 inch but its doesn't matter since I have the leak contained.

Waterbug to the rescue!
I was very reluctant to order this. With a name like "Waterbug", it couldn't be a serious machine - and I needed to empty my 1700 gal swim spa so a new feature could be put on it. Boy was I wrong!. Instructions were really not needed, the arrows and labels on the device were good enough. I plopped that baby in the water and it started to work immediately. The pool was drained within 2 hours. This thing works!

Great pump but you have to keep an eye on it to prevent dry running
My family has been in the construction business all of my life and I have used every conceivable type of pump imaginable including centrifugal pumps, piston trash pumps, gear pumps, peristalsis pumps(typically used for chemical pumping), and, of course, surface pumps like this one. Surface pumps have several issues: How low will they pump? Will they clog easily? Will they prime easily? Will they push water up a considerable distance(important for pumping out of low areas such as a flooded basement)? What happens when it runs dry? This pump answers all these question very nicely except one: If it runs dry, it will destroy itself if you don't turn it off. Anyone who has pumped out something like a flooded basement knows that this is a big problem since it takes hours to pump out and you can't stand there and watch the pump constantly. Of course, you have to make sure the pump doesn't clog but if it clogs for a while it won't destroy itself as running dry will. Some pumps actually have float switches and they cost more. Some pumps have temperature sensors so that if the pump starts to get hot from running dry, it turns off and starts up again when it cools off(that system usually is cheaper than a float switch and it works better for pumping down very close to the floor since float switches can't work very close to the floor). This pump must be watched to prevent it from running dry, which limits its usefulness. But it scores high points on preventing clogs and pumping down to 1/16 inch, which is about as low as any pump can go. The double discharge is also a nice feature to make sure you can situate the discharge hose to prevent kinking. So, if you are willing to keep a close eye on this pump, it is a great choice.

Love My Mighty Water Bug
I am so impressed with this little, but mighty pump. For years I used a shop vac to completely empty our 18 ft round above ground pool. This year I could not face the back ache and time. I just hooked up my garden hose, dropped the pump to the bottom of the pool and plugged it into an GFI outlet. I reset the GFI outlet thinking the pump was not working. How wrong was I? It made no noise what so ever and was pumping its little heat out. I am impressed, because all that was left was a few little puddles. I was sort of spot pumping for the last half hour. Bonus: I can use it if our garage or our yard floods again. This one is a keeper!

The little pump that could!
Totally amazed at the power of this little guy. Bought this one mostly for spring flooding issue in our backyard. We had a mild Michigan winter and some serious rain that lead to a major amount of flooding. I needed to get it dried out so that I could get a garden in late May. I started pumping out late Saturday morning until around 7:30pm and again Sunday am until 7pm and it's all about gone. I didn't use a milk crate or a flat concrete slab. Simply set it right on the lawn. This was a major amount of water, and this pump owned it! Clean out was very simple. Just undo a few screws, rinse it out, make sure no major grit got in, turned the head and reattached the bottom. Defiantly would HIGHLY recommend this unit to anyone looking to get the job done. My only complaint really was that it took a little longer than I'd hope, but I had 200ft of garden hose to run, so really it did well enough.

Stock Tank Wonderful!
Big & heavy - the diameter of a dinner plate. Couldn't possibly tip over! Nice cord keeper slots on sides. Screw on covers for side & top water outlet ports. Garden hose screws on to carry drain water away from side or top. Specifies a GFCI outlet because the power hose is also in the water. This is one of those "Why didn't I buy this years ago? " items. I absolutely LOVE it! Drained 40 gallons of stock tank water in 4 minutes! No need to carry buckets of dirty water & dump it outside. We tried one of those manual skinny hose gimmicks they sell at the state fair. It never worked to empty tanks at our place.

Pump saved us after heavy rain in 2018
Our property was hit with 18 inches of rain in 36 hours during hurricane Florence. The ground was saturated and there was standing water everywhere. Although the water began to go away, with each rain that followed the storm the flooding got worse. We had up to eight inches of standing water covering a few acres. We ordered this pump and it has worked miracles. We placed it at the deepest point on top of a metal pizza pan we bought at the dollar store. We attached a 100' hose to the pump (basic garden hose attaches directly to the pump) and ran the hose to our pond. That pump ran non-stop for 3 1/2 weeks, continuously moving water from the property to the pond. Without the pump we would have had flooding at the house. You must turn off the pump every other day to remove any debris that may get in the intake, but otherwise the pump just keeps going. It does not turn off automatically, so you have to keep an eye on the water depth. We had so much water that we bought a 2nd Water Bug. If you need water removed from your yard, this pump will do the trick. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Will start at only 3/16 inch!
I just got this pump an hour ago to replace a 40 year old pump that died. I have some water in the basement, but not a lot. This pump will prime in 3/16 inch of water which is great, then pump it down to 1/16. Most of the pumps I looked at took at least more than an inch to start. My floor is not level but I had varied depths from 1/2 an inch to 2 inches. This pump pumped it out in less than an hour, I unplugged it a few times to move to different areas. I'm very pleased.

Nice little pump!
So far so good. I use this in my inground swimming pool to bring down the water level during the winter. I have a mesh cover that let's rain/snow water collect in the pool. I peel back the cover and immerse the pump in the water. After running for about 3 hours, this pump reduced the water level by about 3 inches. Being able to hook a hose to the top is an additional design feature I really like.
