I wouldn't call this a nightlight. I'm using this in my kitchen....I used to keep the light on above the kitchen sink all night long in case I got up to use the restroom I didn't want to step on either of my cats in the dark. This saves a lot of electricity, even though I was using LED bulbs in my kitchen sink light also (1.8 watts for this). 100 lumens is brighter than I thought it'd be. Also good for having on as the only light source while watching TV. This casts a light in my dining area as well as my living room (open floor plan) besides the kitchen. It doesn't get warm, which makes me feel like it's safe. I leave it on AUTO and it comes on when the sun starts going down and turns off around 8:00 to 8:30 AM....however, on cloudy days when the blinds are shut it's on 24/7.

I love nightlights. Seriously. I have a lot of them around the house and have tried all types of makes and models and to me, the brighter the better. However, in this case, 100 lumens is too bright. This is NOT a night light and is not marketed as a night light. Even on the packaging and in the description, you will see that this is described as a light BAR which it is, 100%. This is the equivalent of leaving a low wattage light on and is great for shining light in a large room at night. For smaller rooms or hallways, it would be too bright and would wake you up from your sleep. If you are looking for a very bright night light, I would recommend the Maxxima MLN-50 5 LED Night Light at at 25 lumens. Bright enough to get around at night, but not too bright that it would wake you up entirely from sleep.

My dog can't see really well because she's getting older so I always put night lights but they never really helped her until I found this GE product. Very bright!!! I love it and she love it! I can even monitor her better on her camera at night time. (Please see photos)

Our new home is a one story and it can be really dark in the middle of the home since the window light doesn’t reach the hallways and center areas. I wanted to find a really bright light that can illuminate our 🏡 new home and these are perfect! I bought one to see if the lumen estimate was accurate and it really was. It’s the brightest night light I’ve ever seen and it can brighten up a bathroom and kitchen to the point where you don’t need to turn on the ceiling light. I also have one that’s always on in our hallway since it’s weirdly dark even in the middle of the day. It has two modes- always on or light sensored. Since it’s so cheap and efficient to run energy wise I don’t feel guilty about leaving them on 24/7. Having the bathroom and kitchen night lights on sensors have probably actually saved electricity since they are so bright it eliminates the need to use the main lights (our bathrooms have 8 vanity bulbs each). For bedroom use- If you can’t sleep with bright lights you should move onto another light. I probably wouldn’t use these in a bedroom because they are actually TOO bright for me lol. People with kids who are afraid of the dark might like these in their bedrooms. 💡💡💡💡💡

This is an excellent light for a garage, cellar, shed...but not a "NIGHT LIGHT"! It's just to bright. It would be impossible to sleep. Light sensor very good and sensitive...I just hope this item lasts, given the terrible quality GE presently has! Pictures are in my garage.

It's perfect for large rooms or hallways. I love this feature: The light brightness output varies inversely with the surrounding brightness input to the sensor...meaning when the surrounding is dark, light output is about 70 lumen; when well-lit, light output is zero lumen; when medium-lit, light output is about 40 lumen. I have used many other night lights and they're either on or off. But this one's lumen output varies up and down depending on the surrounding light - a great design. I bought a 2nd one after testing the first. Highly recommend.

Very bright! Many of the inexpensive 'night lights' are dim, but not this one. I bought one then purchased two more! One is in my mud room (approx 8x10) and it lights up the entire room. There is no need to turn on the overhead light to get a jacket or see into a cupboard. I have another one as my porch light (protected from the rain) and it easily lights up that area. The third one I have in a seldom-used room; it also shines down the hallway at night. I do notice that the one in the room stays on a lot during cloudy & rainy days in winter. But for just a couple of watts usage, so what?

I live in a converted church with several others. There are five rooms along a hallway with the shared bathroom at the end of the hallway. Leaving the bathroom light on sends a lot of light down the hallway and lights up the rooms at night. Leaving the bathroom door almost closed would work well enough and let some light to see to walk down the hallway but someone would leave it open after using the bathroom and I or one of the other guys would have to get up and close the door. I bought some motion sensing lights for the hallway and this light for the bathroom. It lights up the bathroom enough so the main lights do not need to be turned on and does not reflect too much light down the hallway with the bathroom door open. The only thing I have noticed is when I walk past it my shadow causes it to turn on for a moment or longer when the main lights are on during the day.

Have only had it for a few days and everything works as intended, the only issue I have with it is the light doesn't spread well at all. I guess that's what you get with a 'led bar'. It's almost like a large flash light and most of the light is in front of it. The design really prevents it from doing so, as they could really use a curve or lights on the sides instead of all in a flat row. Would not recommend for in a bedroom, as most outlets are going to be pointed toward the bed. Unless you like having flashlights shined on you while you sleep. I didn't buy it for that reason though, just thought it should be noted. I bought it to light up a hallway when the main lights were off. The outlet is in the middle of the hall way and it lights up that singular spot really well and the brightness alone lights up the hall better than average night lights. However I feel with better led distribution/design it could spread a lot more evenly. Ideal situations for this is if you have outlets that could send light straight out to where you want illuminated. Or just to really light up anything in its immediate vicinity. Could maybe create a nice glow from behind a dresser too, if really wanted to use in a bedroom (of course it'd be constantly on though most likely).

I have night blindness and honestly I am always apprehensive about walking into a dark room and possibly tripping on something. Also I stand to break a bone if I fall because of my age. One of these lights is just perfect for providing me enough soft white light so I can see to navigate through a dark room. I first bought two and then I loved them so much I bought another two. When I need something at night from the kitchen, living room or bedroom I have the right amount of light to see what I want without having to turn on any other light! It has an off, on and auto button. It may sound silly that I am so excited about them but to someone who has night blindness, you understand how much this means to me. It also only uses 2 watts of power! I used to have three little regular night lights in a room and those used up 15 watts with nowhere near the amount of light that this little LED night light provides. I hope this was helpful to you. 2 thumbs Up!
