Nice tool, worked very well
This is an easy to use tool for crimping PEX. We used stainless steel crimp rings and brass fittings and after probably 100 crimps - no leaks. The tool comes with a go - no-go gauge and I did check the tool periodically and never needed to adjust it. At the end of a 12 hour day with two guys using this tool, a small spring that resets the release mechanism came undone, but the tool still works perfectly. I don't think this would be adequate for a tradesman, but for a DIYer it was perfect.

PEX T-Rex Grrreat!
This is a quality-built tool. It comes already calibrated and includes a tool to check. But honestly, it holds initial calibration just fine. I’ve made over a hundred successful connections already, no problem at all. The clamp bands are really hard to foul up. Just get the band positioned right and squeeze the handles together. You just can’t miss. As long as you use quality brass or plastic PEX connections you’ll be leak-free. The kit comes with a starter supply of 1/2” and 3/4” quality stainless steel band clamps and they work just fine. I’ve quickly grown to really like the PEX system lots. It’s fast and easy, and after this little investment in a reasonably-priced crimping tool, it is an attractively-priced system compared to metal plumbing. The only thing that would make this kit even more ideal is if the manufacturer included a zippered ditty bag to store it all together with the clamps and connectors. (But such a bag can be reasonably sourced on Prime.)

Inexpensive and Works Well
After looking in the big box home centers for an affordable PEX steel clamp crimping tool with no luck, I found this bargain on Amazon. It worked perfectly for clamping end caps on two half-inch PEX lines I needed to close off after removing a sink. It will be fine for the occasional PEX plumbing job I need to do around the house. The tool came with some 1/2" and 3/4" clamps, and a GO-NO GO gauge. The latter is used to check if the tool is calibrated. If the gauge enters the mouth of the tool (with the tool closed) past the NO GO lip on the gauge, the tool must be adjusted, which can be done with the adjusting dial. Very happy with the tool and the price.

Great value, efficient, works great!
I'm a handyman that does quite a bit of plumbing repair. And the shark bite system with a slip fit is great for certain things but fairly expensive. I purchased this product for a repair on a mobile home with the old grey pipe that has the same inside and outside diameter as PEX. You can use the PEX connections crimp them and then run new PEX line very simple with this product. The first thing I had to do was cap a bunch of lines that were stepped up through the floor and order for the sheetrock mud work to be done, the water had to be turned on. And about 5 minutes I was able to plug every line with this product and zero leak issues for about the price of two connections from shark bite slip to connect. Plus the grey pipe is not suitable for those fittings. Absolutely thrilled this product paid for itself in less than 20 minutes.

This Pex tool is sweet. Way cheaper then any boxstore brands
This Pex tool is sweet. Way cheaper then any boxstore brands. I researched sharkbite and the others and ended up purchasing this one. Im very pleased with this tool. It ratchets down until it releases letting you know its pinched correctly. not once have i had a leaky joint yet. And the freebee clamps are nice too. Ace is the rippoff place wants 10$ for like a 5 pack of these clamps oh and just for a price check a tool of this caliber is 149.00$ at ace the rippoff place. I will be looking to amazon for those too.

Couldn't be better
I had a repair job in my RV that had PEX tubing for the water supply. I'm pretty handy, but never worked with PEX. I first tried using Sharkbite connectors, but they leaked as the tubing was not clean enough. (Sharkbite are push on connectors that don't require crimping). Then an estimate from a plumber was $250. Far too much for a twenty minute job. But crimping tools at Home Depot were pretty expensive; like almost $100. Amazon to the rescue. Not only was this tool very reasonable, it had good reviews, and came with a supply of rings. Two days later, the tool arrived. Twenty minutes after that my plumbing was back together, with no leaks. Saved a bunch of money doing it myself. And now I have a useful tool for future projects. This tool is surprisingly easy to use. It provides the leverage needed to crimp rings properly, with handles that are long enough, but not too long as to get in the way in tight spaces. No more sweating copper pipes and risking burning down my house crawling under my kitchen sink. If you do any of your own plumbing repairs, you'll want this tool in your toolbox.

Wow this tool worked perfectly and came with plenty of clamps to install. Twenty 1/2" and ten 3/4". I used one 1/2" clamp per connection which was perfectly adequate with the barbed brass adapters I sweated on. No leaks and do not expect any. See pic.

works as advertised, good quality clamps
I completed a partial re-pipe with this tool. I used it on 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch PEX with Sharkbite and Apollo fittings. Only issue I had was with the 3/8 clamps. I purchased the Sharkbite clamps from Home Depot and Sharkbite 3/8 tubing/pipe and Sharkbite fittings. For the two 3/8 crimps that I had to complete, I broke 5 clamps before completing the job. I don't know the cause of the issue (clamps, fitting or pipe). I was only able to get a good finished product when I stopped crimping at the last tool detent. I completed the job a week ago and have been inspecting the 3/8 crimps daily and there is no evidence of drips or leaks. I've written a email to sharkbite regarding the issue since I used Sharkbite crimps, tubing/pipe and fitting. Also, I took the IWISS guage to Home Depot and checked their US-made took and found no diffence in the final gap, therefore I don't believe the tool is at fault. Hope this review helps. Thanks

Great product and easy to use
This is a great product for the price. It was probably half the price of similar products in big box stores. It came with several 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch clamps which was enough to finish my plumbing job. If you have a plumbing project and you can use pex I would recommend this product. The great thing about pex and being a DIYer is if you mess up it's much eaiser to fix then if you are using copper or CPVC. Also no need to worry about glue or using a torch is a big bonus! I rated this 5 stars based on the price and my experience with it. A few things I do want to point out. Several reviews state it takes a lot of force to crimp the larger rings. I totally agree with that. The largest ring I used was 3/4, but I was on a ladder crimping a line in the ceiling. It took a significantly more amount of force then the 1/2 inch ones I had been doing. The other thing that can become an issue is you have to fully open the handles to grab the the tab on the clamp so you can start to crimp it. This creates a big Y and if you are in a tight space that can be a problem. I do really like the ratchet feature that works as you close the handles. It did require the use of both hands to close the handles.

Works great, at half the price of the home store
I had to reroute some PEX plumbing in my RV. I was replacing the kitchen faucet, and this particular RV had PEX right to the faucet connections and both the positions and fittings had to be changed for the new faucet. AND I couldn't reach the plumbing well in this tiny RV cabinet shared with a water heater. Rather than remove the water heater, I cut out some of the original PEX plumbing, put the new plumbing where I could reach it, and installed hoses to feed the faucet, which will be much easier to change next time. This tool worked great, and seems to be the same as the $50 one in the home store. There was one connection with space too limited for this tool to work, and I used a shark-bite connector there. But shark-bites are expensive, and stainless rings are cheap and work well.
