After searching many carriers I am very happy I chose this one :)
I was really impressed when I opened the box and saw this carrier, for the price it is way nicer than the one I am replacing. It did have a very strong smell at first that I have seen other reviewers mention not just on this carrier but other ones. However after zipping it together, I sprayed it with disinfectant and let it air out in my garage after just 30 minutes it was way better. The structure of it is great, once its zipped up it stays upright with or without the side patio open. Its also very large, 2x the size of the one I had, which is great since I was looking for a bigger one and love the additional side opening out for my Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix to stretch out and feel like she is part of whats going on while also enjoying her safe space. We take a lot of road trips so this will be great for her as well as any time we have to leave her in there when going out while we are staying at a hotel or family members house. In addition I love the color!

Excellent carrier, would buy again.
My cat loves this new carrier, even without putting down the extra space. I had no issues with construction or seams. My cat safely traveled to and from vet appointments and on trips without issue. The shoulder strap was nice and it didn't bother me to carry her places. The opening on the top was perfect. She likes to put her head out to look around, especially while the car is in motion. The pad in the bottom fits well, but could probably stand to be a smidge bigger. I didn't replace it and my cat was fine, but if we were going on a flight I would probably replace it with a towel so she had edge to edge coverage. I'm thinking about getting a second cat. If so I'll order another one of these carriers for it.

We bought this not knowing if we would like the side the opened but we are so glad we bought it! Within two minutes of zipping it up and opening the side mesh both our cats where inside it playing. We have had it in our living room a few days now so our cats can get comfortable with it before we drive across country and they both still play multiple times a day in it and sleep next to it. We are buying a second one because of how much they love this cage!

Would buy again perfect for small dogs and puppies!!
PERFECT carrier. Sturdy, well made with good materials, cute. Tons of ways to open it, from the front, side, back, top. We got it for our new dachshund puppy and it's been a lifesaver. Removable padding we wrapped in a puppy pad for easy cleanup just in case. No only does he love it, but it's the perfect size. Also a plus; everyone knows a puppy cries and wakes up a LOT throughout the night when first away. Instead of putting him in a crate we put him next to the bed in this carrier (we don't crate our other dogs this is just to prevent nightime accidents) and whenever he cried and woke up during the night I was able to roll over and open the top and stick my hand in and he was instantly comforted and drifted back to sleep. Saved me waking up just for comfort tons of times! So has had multiple uses, and also pockets are perfect for leash, puppy pads, ECT. 100% recommend!

Our interstate moving experience worked out just fine with these!
We had a great experience with these carriers for moving our two cats across state lines. I had so much anxiety about how the whole move was going to work out and whether this was the right carrier. But it all worked out great and if I could go back in time, I would recommend to myself to buy this carrier and not worry so much. My #1 anxiety was whether the carrier was the right dimensions to be "airline approved". According to the Southwest website, smaller dimensions are required so I was very worried we'd be denied at check-in. But of course, no one said a thing and sure enough, the soft-sided carrier squished down just enough to fit under the seat in front of us. (Note: middle seat is best. Window seat and aisle seat have obstructions.) We opened the "patio" while waiting in the airports and while on board the plane. On the plane, the mesh patio fit best opening into the under-seat area. Both our cats were basically silent the entire flight aside from a couple small mews that I doubt anyone else could hear. Another anxiety was that the cats seemed to freak out in the carriers when we went for practice drives around the neighborhood. I tried to do the crate-training every day to get them used to the carriers and both cats seemed to dislike being in the carrier on these short trips. They clawed and meowed and were very upset. I was just sure we would all suffer on the big moving day with this kind of behavior incessantly for 9 hours! But when the big moving day arrived, those cats had already spent a day freaking out in a locked bedroom while the entire household got loaded into a truck. That made them sufficiently traumatized that by the next day, the 9-hour day of driving and flying and driving, those cats just wanted a small dark place to hide and the carriers were a welcome retreat. They made barely a peep on the 2-hour drive (unlike the short trips around the neighborhood) and they remained mostly quiet and still the whole day. Unlike some other reviews, my cats never took to these carriers as a place they voluntarily went to sleep or hang out. I kept the carriers open in the living room for months before the move and for weeks after the move. But they never showed much interest. Now that the move is done, these carriers are folded flat for storage and will be easily deployed for the next trip to the vet. One word of advice: The zippers can get pushed open by the cat's nose or paws. This happened once during the neighborhood test-runs and I had a cat lose in the car. So I solved this by hooking the zippers together with a mini carabiner clip. I needed about 6 clips for each carrier. So I repurposed some mini carabiner clips from a dozen ChicoBags which have the perfect sized clip. A safety pin would probably also work. Another minor complaint (or something to just be aware of) is that when rolling my luggage through the airport with a cat in carrier and the carrier looped onto the extended handle, the tipped luggage tips the cat. If you have upright rolling luggage, this won't be an issue. But a 2-wheeled suitcase is a little challenging. One cat/carrier kept sliding off the side so the poor cat was hanging. I just had to be very careful to make sure the cat hadn't fallen as I was migrating through the airport. Once our bags were checked, we just carried the carrier in hand but I was grateful for a way to carry the luggage, a carryon and the cat/carrier all in my two hands.

Excellent Carrier! Especially for airline travel!
This works perfectly! I purchased it for my trip to pick up my 2 kittens in California (I live in Maryland) and thought the 'extra room' the expandable portion would be helpful while waiting at airports etc.... and oh my! it was awesome! this allows the control of the pets being in the carrier, but the opening and allowing the extra room while still in the carrier is just the absolute best. I just recently used it again last week to take my 10lb Ragdoll to the vet, which is over an hour long trip. So I placed it in the car and opened the expander and he did wonderfully! he had so much room to move around and see and stretch out - so i HIGHLY recommend this! There are many zippers and a few pockets really all i could ask for and more. Melinda

He is going to get about 15lbs and I don't see us having to buy another one anytime it is durable and the pop out is awesome whe
I bought this carrier for my now 7.5lb 4 month old Boston terrier Enzo. He has plenty of room. He is going to get about 15lbs and I don't see us having to buy another one anytime it is durable and the pop out is awesome when we want to give him more room. When I bought this product I didn't realize there was a strap on the inside that you can clip to a harness or collar. It really helps when we want to open the top but keep him from jumping out. We have used it as a puppy Carrie. A car seat. We buckle the seatbelt through a handle on the side of the carrier then take the shoulder strap and put it over the head rest of the seat he is in. Really convenient for car rides. And if your dog gets car sick like mine you will love the removable pad that you can unzip and throw it in the washing machine. We also took it camping with us and it was like his own personal mini tent. Next stop for this carriers test is the airport. I will be posting later about that. But by far this is one of the best purchases ever! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CARRIER!

Loved this carrier
Loved this carrier! It was perfect for bringing my 10 week old Rottweiler mix puppy on a 4 hour flight. Great quality. Would recommend! Flew on southwest and it fit perfect under the seats

Happy with this purchase.
This is the first time we purchased a soft sided carrier for our cats. We have an older hard shell that has served us well but with 3 cats, we thought it time to invest in an additional carrier. So far this carrier hasn't disappointed. It is well constructed and i like the zip out additional space. The zippers are sturdy. My one complaint is that the zippers do not lock! I fear that will a bit of effort, one of our cats, a great escape artist, might figure out the key to freedom. I purchased a loop key ring that screws on/off-- perfect solution! It affords a measure of security but is easily unlatched.

Good quality!
I was unsure if this item would be decent quality given it was on the less expensive side of others I could have purchased, but a lady had posted a video showing how she put hers together + it seemed to be really sturdy. That's why I bought it. Once it came, I was impressed! My pet has already started chewing on the corners (he's still little) but it's held up without any damage. The only thing I wish could have been better was the shipping time. Although they updated me about the delay, I really needed the item and it took a while.
