Works with my Alienware Laptop 17 R5 with some silght modifications.

For me, this aluminum portable table turn out to work just find for my huge Alienware 17 R5 Laptop. I just needed to extend the back out a few inches to keep my laptop from sliding off. Luckily the mouse pad was perfect for this. So I secured the mouse pad to the rear of the table with two screws, thus preventing this humongous Laptop from ever sliding off. I also added some black tape to the rear and front of this metal table to minimize scratching to my Laptop. I use this table daily now, with no complaints. Once I found the perfect leg position this table is now my favorite setup.

Perfect

It met my highest expectations. I use my computer from a low table so hunching over was killing my back. This is brilliantly designed. The best part is the fans that cool the computer which always concerns me when it gets really hot. This makes it very, very, comfortable to use the computer for hours, which I do as a writer. It is very sturdy, I am not afraid it will break easily. The little plate on the side is where I keep my phone. In case I have to google something, my eyeglasses, and pens, I do have written notes. I love it. It's very easy to set up. It has degree of angle on each leg so you know it is all balanced. I recommend this product whole heartedly. I really do like it. If you like toys you can sit with it and work all the options of use and just keep saying, how cool is that!

This thing is brilliant!

PORTABLE LAPTOP STAND / TABLE by Desk York - in Bed & Sofa Tray - Adjustable For Computer-Folding Ergonomic Design-2 Built In Cooling Fans - Mouse Pad & USB Cord-Devices Up To 17'' - BLACK Brilliant design and solves several real problems. I bought it to use in bed. Sure, you can prop your laptop up on your legs but the distance from your arms and head is not ideal. This thing is extremely configurable. See photo for how to use in bed and that's only one possible bed-use configuration.

Well designed.

Very clever and extremely well made for the price. Comes with a set of visual instructions for configuring the desk for various functions. This model has a tray that clips on the side that orients independently of the disk, so you can have the work surface at an angle - say to read - and the tray can be parallel to the floor. Although it isn't sturdy enough to be a drink holder, still dang useful for a mouse or cellphone, and shows "useful innovation" in a product that is intended to be useful as well as functional. The designers put some thought in on this one.

Sturdy and easy to adjust between settings.

I often use a Microsoft Bluetooth ergonomic keyboard and trackball with my laptop. I share desktops with a colleague as we co-author a book. During long sessions, I try to stand up and move around, but have resorted to a cardboard box to support the keyboard when standing. That seriously limits just where I can stand and position the keyboard. A neighbor has one of the desk-raising sit-stand units that lifts both her laptop and external monitor so that she can sometimes stand while participating in long conference calls. However, I have two large monitors and did not want them lifting—I only needed to raise the external keyboard and trackball. So I started looking for solutions. I purchased the York laptop stand partly due to the rating and the associated pictures. It looked high quality and had the flexibility that seemed like it would do the trick. There were a number of similar-looking units, but somehow I concluded that this unit was better built. I was glad I did. I positioned the supports in the 90 degree position and the mouse platform on the left and the York platform worked like a charm. It was both sturdy and just the right height. (The platform can be set up for in-between heights as well. In fact, it comes with a sheet telling you the settings for various configurations!). I liked the fact that the pushbutton height-adjustment locks also have degrees displayed, so it is easy to go between two settings without guesswork. For the Bluetooth keyboard, I did not need the fans, but I tried them out, and they are relatively quiet when a keyboard or laptop is positioned over them. While this review is only after a short experience using the stand, it is easy to assess the sturdiness, ease of use, and sound of the fans. I have not tried the unit as a laptop stand while in bed or sitting on the couch. I would recommend this unit for anyone who needs to raise a keyboard or laptop to continue working comfortably while standing.

Amazing!

I would give this product more than 5 stars if I could. This portable desk was exactly what I was searching for. I had very specific criteria, I have a 17" gaming laptop that can run a bit hot, but I'm never home & would constantly suffer back pain leaning over to deal with the laptop that was resting on my lap, overheating me. The table itself is metal with cut outs for the fan. The metal alone keeps the laptop cool, the fan is just a wonderful bonus, with the added bonus of cooling my legs under it as well! The fan is quiet and powerful. The adjustable legs are easy to operate and have 15 degree increments on them so you can make sure both sides match one another. The legs are also metal, the buttons you push to tilt the legs are plastic. The only issue would be if my nails were longer, since the button has to be depressed pretty far(I see it as a safety feature, like child-proof bottles). The fan on the bottom is connected to your computer by a detachable cord(usb) and has a power button conveniently located so it doesn't always run, even if it is always plugged in. Honestly one of my favorite things about the lap desk is that when compared to other lap desks this one combines quality with value. I was comparing lap desks for my laptop for about three months and found lots of plastic and beanbag like pillow things, all for much more money than I thought was reasonable, even if they were slightly cheaper than this one. Every desk I saw that was wood or metal or made to hold larger laptops or had a designated spot for the mouse or had a fan was well over $100. And then this one came along. I almost didn't order it because the price was only about 15% higher than the cheap options that looked and sounded so disappointing. At double the price it would still be a good deal.

Best Platform For Home Use.

Platform is completely adjustable for any person who uses it. Compact enough to fit in laptop carry bag. Great for office use, but better for home use. Takes a few minutes to adjust on first use, but once done, I'll never adjust it again for home use. Just set it off to the side on end table next to Lazyboy and I'm good to go. I can sit in my living room chair, couch, or even bed and have a comfortable and perfectly adjusted table for my laptop. Working from home in a comfy chair is a total joy. Great for the counter when cooking using a tablet too. The mouse pad is completely adjustable and detaches without screws. There are dual fans on the bottom that connect to your Lappy USB port to keep the bottom of your laptop cool. This product solves so many problems when using a laptop while chromecasting to your tv if you want to work while watching any program or lounging while using your laptop. Laptop is now getting a ton more use than it ever has.

So this product is AMAZING!! I have a laptop and the key board broke on it so I had to get a wireless keyboard and trying to use it on my lap was a nightmare till I ordered the Desk York Portable Laptop Stand!! Its strong and durable!! Super easy to adjust and fit just perfect in my lap! Very well built and I'm in love with it!! My husband and I currently fight over who is going to use it! Great Lap Table for Computing, Crafts or General Use

It's ultra lightweight. It folds up very thin (2-3/8"). I can easily store the folded table under or between furniture. Allows me to use it for my laptop/tablet, reading, eating or accomplish crafts comfortably while seated on the floor, in bed, sitting up leaning against the wall or on the sofa, in a chair or anywhere else. Is also very stable just laying it on my lap; with legs folded they provide a larger surface area resting on ones legs for stable support (approximately 1/7/8" X 9"). It is an outstanding small lap desk for doing crafts (16-1/2" X 10-1/2"). When doing crafts an additional top surface will have to be used to cover the fan holes (e.g. simple cardboard, cutting/silicone mat or rubber mat will work). A wide variety of angles and leg configurations can be achieved to suit most any possible use. I found adjustment was best done by first placing the top in the position I wanted and then adjusted the legs for the best support for what I was sitting on or position I working from (couch, chair, floor, bed). Its construction is lightweight aluminum; both desktop (having folded edges to ensure no table flexing), mouse platform and leg sections. The lockable rotating joints are a strong durable plastic with an aluminum button locking the angle settings. The two aluminum mounting brackets, that secure the desk to the leg assemblies, are stout thus making for a very strong connection. Both are each secured with four Allen head screws. The mouse platform angle is adjustable, angle settings are lockable, so rotatable table position will not slip when using the mouse (5-3/4" X 6-1/2"). Table lip is 1/2" tall; additionally, two supplied adjustable clips being 1" tall. Leg spacing (the area for a persons legs) between aluminum leg sections is: 15-7/16", 16-3/4", 18". Lip on table could be positioned either in the front or rear, thus influencing aluminum leg spacing effect, providing for more space for legs/body. Table surface is slippery but is easily worked around (use a cheap sheet of rubber mat, apply anti-skid pads on bottom of various devices being used on the table). One could spray the table surface with an antiskid paint thus providing permanent traction). This is a well built and engineered table. I am very pleased with the "Desk York Portable Table for Computer". This should last me many years, if not unduly abused. The date is now Apr 28, 2019. This product is GREAT! I use it daily for a vast variety of uses. It is still tightly constructed as when I first purchased it. I still highly recommend this product. I would give it six stars if that was possible.

Pretty Darn Cool

This thing worked better than I thought. I was worried because we have a 15" older laptop that weighs way more than the new ones. I had read reviews on other desks like this one and some of them said they were weak and would slowly collapse. There's no way this one could because of the locks. It took a few tries to get a good configuration but luckily they had a paper with it that showed the different ways you could adjust it. I wish that the mouse pad tray had come with it so I'll have to buy that separately. It's also lighter than I thought it would be. I was thinking it would be really heavy but it's lighter than our laptop LOL! So far, I'm happy with this purchase.
