I have always used electric trimmers and gas blowers (40 years). I needed to replace my string trimmer and just was not sure about battery trimmers. Well I'm here to let you know - just do it! I have run it on a full battery for about 1 hour now and still going on the same charge. String is only 0.65 thickness but I cut back a lot of tough Boston Ivy with it and it did not miss a beat ! I am 65 years old and was worried about the weight. It is no heavier than my old electric trimmer. I am now looking at other devices that Black and Decker offers. Get one of these, you won't be disappointed.

OK LISTEN UP... I have been edging for 40 years.. GAS edgers for the power. Mix the fuel, screw around with starting, adjust the string. Very fragile mostly can break looking at it..MOST that is.. So i break down and purchase my newest bestest yard tool. OMG..guys gals. 79 bucks for THIS WORK OF ART. I dont have battery powered anything. I get it charge the battery..easy connection just slide on. I fire it up.. AND PROCEED TO BE BLOWN AWAY BY THIS LITTLE DEVIL. I

I've been a homeowner for 45 years and have had both gas abd electic (corded) models from various manufacturers. I hated cords but liked the quiet operation of those models. Gas models were noisey and I did not like mixing gas and oil and winterizing these models. Few started as easily as advertised. The Black & Decker is a dream. Instant start, lightweight, auto feed line, and very quiet. My lot is 1/3 acre and I can trim the primeter and all around the house on a single charge. I actually look forward to using it.

Now that I am divorced I realize my ex bought all of our yard care tools for a person his size (and then never did any yard care, but I digress). I bought this pretty much entirely based on it's weight, a mere 5ish pounds and the fact that it's a brand I trust. I've only had it a short time, but so far, it's awesome. Even at top speed the battery lasts longer than I do and it easily takes out all but the older blackberries (those things are evil). I love it so much, I've ordered a hedge trimmer from the same line.

I can't even count the trimmers I have thrown across the yard in disgust, but I love this one! In three years of use, I have never had to stop my work to fiddle with the string! All I have ever had to do is change the spool once a year! This is MY toy, I won't even allow anyone else to trim for me. The charge is enough to do my entire yard, medium size lot. So easy to use!

I really like this trimmer ( never had one before...) It's easy for me to hold and maneuver. It's very easy to switch between edger and trimmer. However, I did experience the trimmer cutting out on me.... It needed to cool down. So I let it cool down and made sure the vents were clear of debris and it worked fine.

Goodbye finicky 2-cycle gas trimmers. I'll miss your added power, but not your start-up inconsistencies, foul smell, loud racket and propensity to simply die at most inopportune moment. The battery operated B+D does the job. It has a little less power, which takes a little more time when dealing with thicker patches of grass, but it is lighter, quieter, easy to reconfigure on the fly, making for a much improved user experience. Not a replacement for a mower, but great for small trim/edge operations for the typical suburban yard. Used it twice already and have not had to recharge the battery yet (using it on the low power setting, however).

What can't you say about this one its exactly the one that I needed ! I'm disabled after having an accident on the job & after 4 failed back surgeries my lawn that I try to keep up gets me outside is the only excersize I get due to my condition so I do as much as I can before I get to hurtingtoo bad. I finally found a weed eater that's light, has a battery life of over 15 minutes, has the wheel for trimming, has a two speed setting for the thicker weeds, has the wheel for trimming, has the auto string feed so ya don't need to beat it on the ground, it's got a new quick change that you pull apart a knuckle that changes from normal weed eater to trimmer with ease, the height adjuster handle is more user friendly that adjusts to your hieght , a bigger better power button and it's just so easy to operate so if your new at running a weed eater, handicapable or you just want to get a great lawn care tool this is the one it's a great buy price wise & product!! 👍

I ordered this cordless trimmer in the hopes of solving an irritating issue every time I visited my step daughter's gravesite. The headstone (actually a flat marker) was always overgrown with grass as the cemetery folks just mowed the grass. My knees have been bothering more as I get older and it was more difficult to tend the grave. I thought a weed whacker would do the trick and hunted around for a good cordless one and ordered this one, because I have other B&D 20volt items and I'm impressed with the battery. I assembled it (one screw), figured out all the buttons and knobs, then put a battery in it and went to the cemetery and cleaned up the gravesite in less than 5 minutes. I noticed at lot of military graves also with their flags flying proudly over overgrown markers, so I cleaned 6-8 of them until the battery died after @ 25 minutes of use. I think I may have found a new hobby with my B&D weed whacker.

After reading lots of reviews, I ordered this weed whacker, truthfully not expecting a great deal. Where I use it is small, so didn't need a larger piece of equipment and found larger ones tiring anyway. This little beauty is terrific! Light weight but gets the job done very well. I did order 2 extra batteries and find they last 20 minutes on the high setting. I'm very happy with it and don't mind the weed whacking chore at all any more.
