This is a very nice good scale. I'm impressed with its maximum capacity and precision. I particularly wanted it for weighing out foods at the lower end. One or two ounces of food on a plate. To use you simply place your plate on the scale and press the tare button. That zeros it out taking in the weight of the plate. Now put the food on you want to weigh and it gives you the weight down to a decimal point. Much easier to use than the old spring loaded scale that I had previously and more accurate. Time will tell about battery life and durability. But for now I'm satisfied.

I have been trying to get a grip on my diet for some time. The main problem has been portion control. Yes I know, ppl say use a portion about the size of a deck of cards or they will use some other comparable object. I have always had problems with weights and measures, and decided for once I’m just going to try and get it right. Enter the Digital Kitchen Scale. It surprised me by its light weight, but impressed me by its ease of use and it’s ability to take tare weight into consideration and give you the net weight of what you are weighing so quickly. It’s size and light weight make it convenient to have handy around the kitchen instead of being put up somewhere because of awkward size or heaviness to use. I find it very useful to have when cooking; it’s quick and easy to use, no hassle. Outside of cooking, I find there are innumerable times there are times there are items it is useful to have weighed, so it can be versatile. It’s light, easy to use, and will calculate tare weight and give you net weight.

I wanted a digital scale to help me precisely measure equal amounts of material when using two-part epoxies. Disposable measuring cups are great for liquid epoxies, but I am also using a two part system that has a putty like consistency. I wanted to do a little better than just eye-balling it, and this compact scale is an economical way to be certain I have equal amounts of each ingredient. It is very accurate, and small (in my case this is a benefit). I imagine that it would be useful in the kitchen for measuring small amounts of ingredients like chopped nuts, chocolate chips, etc. I can't speak on the battery life since I've only used the scale twice, but it's nice that it includes batteries at all. You can use it right out of the box, and, for the low price of the scale, it' shouldn't be a big deal if you have to replace the batteries with name brand ones any way.

Easy to use. Extremely sensitive. I wanted the weight of something in a ziplock bag. I set an empty bag on the scale, let it zero itself out. Removed the bag and put the one with the food in it on the scale. It gave me the precise weight. Easy to go from US to Metric weight. Can do ounces or pounds:ounce. Shows ounces to the 0.01 weight when in the ounce only format (0.1 ounces in the "pound : ounce" format), Great value.

It's doing great so far! I had bought two different scales from two different companies (one being from Zerla) for our own comparisons and I had to return the other one due to not having "ounces" as an option even though it was listed that way. We buy a lot of scales for our business (busy sandwich shop) and plan to buy several more in the next few months. This one is holding up very well compared to many we've bought in the past.

I'm very disappointed with this product considering the other reviews. Right out of the box I had a problem with the display. I received it on Sat. 1/28 and unpacked it on Sun. After installing the batteries I found that upper 2/3's of each digit did not display. If you view it from an angle you could see the display. I'm hoping that it doesn't get any worse but this is not what I expected. It does seem to be accurate. UPDATE!!!!! After a brief conversation with customer service they sent a new scale that arrived today and works great.I have upped my rating to a 5 star rating.

A very good scale. Don't let the price fool you this is a very functional scale and has a 5 kilogram capacity. The pan has ample room to weigh items in measuring cups and for multiple items in one cup the tare feature allows the scale to be zeroed without removing anything. I love it!

This small scale by Zerla is simple to use, fast, and accurate. Selecting from several units of weight helps eliminate recalculating errors in exotic "foreign" recipes. Its tare feature is a big plus: any container's weight can be zeroed out electronically to give direct reads of multiple ingredients. You can tare your heart out all day and still go around smiling. Have not owned it long enough to score battery life or durability, but its versatility extends into the postal realm. One cautionary note: if you weigh your snacks and exceed the 11 pound limit of this scale, ask your doctor if snacking is right for you.

This takes up far less space than my previous kitchen scale (I was using an old postal scale I bought online because it was cheaper than food scales). However, it specifically says it shouldn't have anything too heavy resting on it, meaning I have to be more careful & keep roommates from putting stuff on top of it. It's easy to change units, tare (reset to 0) the weight, & the weight seems very accurate. Unfortunately, there's no "hold" button, like there was on my old scale - if a plate or wide bowl covers the screen, you have to crane your neck to see it. Overall, I love this scale. I haven't used it often or long enough to really give the battery life an accurate review. Still, I can use the scale to weigh postal items, small food items like apples, even paper plates! It's extremely useful from day to day.

GREAT VALUE! This little scale was exactly what I needed to calculate my food portions. It's so sensitive you can place a snack size zip lock baggie on it and use the TARE to zero it out before weighing the food item. I also like that you can press the button and switch from ounces to grams, etc. so easily! Some nutrition packages only include grams instead of ounces for measurement so it does all the math! It's compact and is hardly noticeable on the countertop. I am going to buy 2 more as gifts. Sure to be appreciated! If you are watching your portions...don't guess. Highly likely you are way off (as I quickly discovered ) after using this handy little scale. Oh, and the batteries are included!
