• Each character has unique abilities and play styles. For example, Princess Peach glides over gaps, while Luigi has his trademark extra-high jump.
  • The new cat transformation allows players to run on all fours, pounce on enemies, attack in midair, or use their claws to scamper up walls and goal poles.
  • Explore colorful 3D environments filled with obstacles and contraptions like transparent pipes and vertical conveyor belts, which add new puzzle elements.
  • Use the Wii U Gamepad Controller's touch screen to search for hidden blocks and freeze enemies in place.
  • “E” w/Mild Cartoon Violence

This game is so good i had to buy 2 copies, well technically because my son broke the frist disc. This has to be one of the best Mario yet, well up to the wii u. 4 Player action, you can help or challenge your friends or family. All levels are fun and some very difficult, it's most have for the Wii U.

My 6 year old is now obsessed with this game! This is a great 1 to 4 player game and reminds me of Super Mario 3 that I spent hours playing as a child (Even has the same sound effects for things like losing a life). You can play individually or as a cooperative game but allows you to track individual performance when you play together. Has the ability to have 3 different saved games if you have multiple children (or Adults) who want to play their own game.

Really great game! This was my first game that I bought for the Wii U and I'm almost always playing this or Pikmin 3. Love the graphics and the ability to use different characters. I still haven't tried to do any multiplayer gaming but hope to do that soon and update the review.

I have been playing Mario games my entire life dating back to the originals. This was a great new addition to the series. As an adult it was fun to travel through the bright colorful worlds and try to find all the stars. My children ages 2-7 love to run the level trying out all the different power ups, especially the cat suit. I loved playing this both on my own and with up to three other players all running around on the screen together.

My 4 and 7 year old children absolutely love this game. The challenge is perfect for their age, and my wife and I enjoy a few levels here and there as well. I prefer them not to use the gamepad since it's such in integral part of the Wii U, but this game does have a few levels that require it. That's the only drawback as a parent of some not-so-graceful children.

If you are a Mario fan you will love this game. The 3D aspect is a bit different and more challenging if you are used to the side scrollers. The new cat costume and fun couch co-op play make this a must have game for the Wii U! For some reason, Mario never gets old!

Ever since I bought a wifi u I always wanted to buy this game but at 60$ dollars? No thank you, but when Nintendo announced they were launching another batch of Nintendo selects I was hyped! Other then the excellent price this game is the best 4 player platformer I have ever played. Just get 3 buddies and get ready for a crazy ride! All the levels are huge and beautifully designed! And that cat power up adds a whole new level of interaction! If you have a wii u there is no excuse not to buy this

This is the most amazing game Nintendo has ever thought of! Going through a game like this is like going through a 5 year journey. It's easy and also hard, and has many secret worlds and levels to reveal! I definitely want a Super Mario 3D World 2!

From my 10-year-old son: This game is really great! It has a few notable differences from normal Mario games. Number one, duh, Hence the title. It’s in 3D. Number two, the power-ups are very different, such as raccoon transformations. Number three, instead of Bowser kidnapping Princess Peach, he captures little fairy-like princesses in jars. We thought we would need nunchuks to play this game with more than 1 player, so we were glad to find out we didn’t. The only bad thing about it is that there is no split screen, so if Luigi is trying to kill some enemies or collect a hidden block, and Mario, Peach, and Blue Toad move on without him, the screen moves with them, Luigi goes offscreen, and if he doesn’t come back on in a few seconds, he will float over in a bubble. Also, while someone is offscreen, they can still take damage, and it’s very hard to dodge a goomba in 3D while offscreen, so if a scenario like this happens with an enemy, the player is most likely to die, costing the team a life, and the player whatever powerup they had, if any. Other than that, though, it is an awesome game, really fun to play with friends.

Good game. there are a lot of levels to play and a lot of items to collect. It's actually pretty challenging even for an adult, so you may want to consider that before buying, but its a very well done game with loads of content to keep you and up to 4 people playing.
