I bought this dental guard for my husband and later one for my daughter, both who have grinding problems. We paid a dentist for an Invisiline guard for my daughter, which she hated. It cut into her gums, it was cumbersome, etc. She disliked it and I was out over $100. She gave up on it and that was a few years ago. My husband was recently told he needed a mouth guard immediately or he was going to need his teeth capped in a few years from the damage his teeth grinding at night caused. Well, I knew he was going to dislike what the dentist provides and didn't want to have to spend another $100 to find that out. So I researched on Amazon for a couple of hours and chose this guard for him. It didn't look too invasive, which is why I chose it. Who needs an entire thing covering every tooth for a grinding problem? He loves it! He said he likes how he can move the guard up and down, adjusting it to where he feels comfortable. It keeps all of his teeth from touching. It is durable and non-invasive. And get this, it stopped his snoring!! That was a bonus for me. I did not think that was possible. So he seems so be sleeping better at night and not waking up grumpy. All-in-all a great purchase. I just bought a set for my daughter. She has TMJ in addition to the grinding problem, so I am hoping maybe this will help with that too, as I have heard teeth grinding can make TMJ worse. I am very happy with this purchase! Update: July 9, 2015: My husband has been using this every night, he no longer snores at all (a bonus), and the guard is holding up well. He is glad I purchased this and I am enjoying sleeping in peace.

I needed a night guard because I grind my teeth really bad at night, it causes my teeth to hurt and wakes my boyfriend up. However I didn't want something bulky or uncomfortable, I am a light sleeper and if it was uncomfortable I wouldn't be able to sleep. This dental guard is perfect!!! It keeps me from grinding my teeth and is comfortable to wear and not bulky like other night guards. And with no boiling required I just took it out of the box, adjusted it to fit my mouth and it was all ready to go! I can't recommend this highly enough!

I’ve been using it for years. My wife recently started using it. I only had a problem with the first one-it tore. I called customer service, and they replaced it immediately. I was asked to send them proof of purchase, but they replaced the unit before I even sent it. I never again had a problem. It’s easy to fit and comfortable in my mouth. Each unit last several months.

I have been using this for 3 months and it only has very slight signs of wear which is surprising as I grind pretty hard according to my dentist (who recommended this). I bought another grind guard from "The Doctors" brand and it was horrible, painful and hard to wear. I got used to this one from Dentek within just a week and actually missed it when I was sleeping in a hotel and forgot to pack it. I will buy another one soon (as regular replacement is suggested) but this is a great product especially for the money spent compared to a professionally made one for hundreds of dollars.

I had a night guard made by my dentist. It was for the 6 upper front teeth only. Boy did that thing do a number to my jaw. My NEW dentist told me that it was because my teeth were not able to come together at night it caused my jaw to go out of alignment and I've had bite issues ever since :/ After paying hundreds of dollars for that fiasco, and using up my "one every five years" dental coverage, I purchased the full mouth DenTek (this one https://www.amazon.com/Dentek-Professional-Maximum-Protection-Dental/dp/B008YEMVSI/ref=sr_1_15_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1483981143&sr=8-15&keywords=night+guards). It was ok. I didn't really care for it much. While I was able to put my teeth together, my mouth never really closed shut all the way because it was so big. Because my mouth didn't close all the way I ended up with very dry, yucky mouth by morning. It was so bad I was actually sleeping without the guard. I think it even encouraged my grinding because it was so big and just...THERE and gave me something to grind and grind and clench and clench. It started to come apart (the grinding "plate" and the molded teeth part) less than 7 months later. Looking for an alternative I found this little guard. OMG I LOVE this guard!!!! I push this thing to the smallest available position, pop it on the bottom, and I'm off to snoring land. My mouth closes, I hardly know it's in there at all. As others have said it does rub the right side of my lower gum just a tad but I just adjust the plate to sit a little bit towards the front of my mouth on that side. Yep I was also worried about swallowing this thing...that won't ever happen. The box contains TWO guards too. So maybe it won't last as long as the other (been wearing it about a month now) but I'm ok with that! There are two lol. I love this one so much I'm thinking about ordering 4-5 more boxes just in case they ever discontinue this guard...that is my luck! Updated review: I came back to order another two and I read some other reviews. I want to thank the person who said they use the Plackers Grind No More disposable guards. I ordered those. I thought these guards were awesome but the Plackers are WAY better. There is zero rubbing. I put the Plackers guards on top which I love so much better than the bottom (like these). Plackers are also a little smaller. I know they say the Plackers are disposable but I've been wearing 1 for over a week. I just rinse my mouth, with the guard in it, in the morning with Listerine, then I rinse and dry the guard. So far working great. So after trying a professional guard, a mold myself guard, the dentek guards and now the Plackers guards...Plackers, Plackers, Plackers

I was hesitant about buying this guard after reading some of the reviews, but glad I tried it! I had no problem fitting this guard. It's important to read the instructions fully before you start, and follow them step-by-step. There is also a how-to video on the page which helps explain how to fit the guard. This guard is really comfortable to wear at night, much more than my professional one. I'm very happy with this purchase!

After using the "football player type" terribly uncomfortable boil-to-mold mouthguards, I was pleased to find these. I've been using them for several years and I find them to be extremely comfortable and effective at protecting my teeth from the effects of grinding. For my bite ( which is "off") it works really well. My only complaint is that it's hard to keep clean. Stuff gets stuck inside where the adjustable arms stick out, that's pretty gross and causes me to have to replace them more frequently than I would have to without it. Still, I now can't fall asleep without this guard!

I thought this was going to be a "one size fits all" kind of thing. But, it's actually custom fit to my teeth! It's just like the one my dentist sold me for over $300 a few years back. Reading the instruction all the way through and understanding what you need to do is crucial. You get up to three chances or more with diminishing returns (so it's written), but I followed the instructions carefully and was able to get satisfactory fit the first time. After putting it on, while I'm awake, I feel the presence of it and it's tempting for me to chew on it. But, with some deep-breathing and deliberate relaxation exercises I fall asleep and obviously not aware of it any more then. The only way this can be made better for me personally is to make it so thin that I don't feel it's presence. But, is that even possible?

My boyfriend and I both use these mouth guards nightly for grinding. I do replace them every 8-10 months mainly for hygiene purposes. Out of the 3 that I have had, I did bite through one of them after 8 months. They are very sturdy, a little bulkier compared to the oral-b version but I require ones with a thicker base. No issues with slipping off throughout the night for either of us. For fitting, I follow the instructions but use warm water to rinse before molding it. If I use cold water, the guard will not form a solid impression. If i ever have any problems, I just put it back in the microwave. I do recommend cleaning the mouth guard often, I use soap and water or soak them in listerine. If you have trouble with calcium deposits, we use a water/vinegar solution to clean my boyfriends.

I've tried other dental guards from the drug store since my husband has told me that I grind my teeth at night. Nothing has worked before and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dentist molded dental guard, so I decided to try the Dentek Ultimate Guard. And after using it for a couple of weeks now, I'm convinced that it is the ULTIMATE GUARD. Its the perfect combination of protection where none of my teeth touch and comfort because its not bulky at all (I barely notice that I have it in my mouth). The fitting and molding were easy to do especially with the fitting tray. Just soften it up with a hot glass a water, line up the guide to your two front teeth and bite! The bite pads fit perfectly to my teeth. The band is thin and fits snugly against the roof of my mouth and is barely noticeable. It has only been a couple of weeks but I can already feel the difference. It really has been the best dental guard that I've ever used. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for the best solution out there for night-time grinding.
