Although I have enjoyed excellent health for around 50 of my 62 years, on 8 December 2016 I had a stroke. Because I could no longer get around nor even take care of my own needs, I had to leave my disabled husband and my home. My youngest son - 26 yrs old - made room in his house and procured a live-in cna/caregiver so that I wouldn't be forced into a nursing facility. Even so, I couldn't take our bed and leave my husband without, so I researched the most affordable temp bedding around...The Inflateable Bed...and found this one! Mind, I grew up with Coleman when my parents opted for this brand in camping equipment - brand loyalty, you know - and my husband and I even used stacked queen size inflateables for 6 yrs, when our regular matress finally bit the dust. So, when I found this "self-inflate" Coleman, I made the investment. At 20" from floor to top surface, it was the perfect height for me where I wouldn't need assistance getting in or out of bed, it held the air after the initial "stretch" and I was easily able to find my comfort zone. The only difficulty with this bed has arisen from my own particular stroke-related disabilities, namely the inability to lay in a way that would support my muscles on my entire right, paralyzed side. To remedy this, I purchased a memory foam mattress topper, which fit perfectly between the raised edges of my Coleman Support Rest Twin Elite bed. It was this addition that caused my only problems, as the additional 4" to the base height made it difficult to get on the bed (flacid limbs, you know), even when I deflated it somewhat....it became quite wobbly and I very nearly slid off the edge of the bed onto the floor! I solved the height problem by finding a 3" step to place by the bed, which more than accommodates. The bottom line is this: the Coleman Support Rest Elite Air Bed is more than just a comfortable, convenient sleep solution. It's actually therapeutic since you can inflate it to your own comfort level, the design is such that it will either cradle you or give you the firmest of support, the floor-to-top surface height is perfect for anyone 5' ^ tall and it accomodates a memory foam topper well, if you have the need. As a recovering stroke victim, there was nothing in the design of this bed that I am unable to work around...a perfect "all-around" sleep solution! (UPDATE: January 2019 - Still holding air! This matress has done a bit of stretching in the past 2 years...it is not quite the straight sided rectangular shape now, but slightly bowed. There is a slight advantage to this change of surface volume however.....instead of having the dimensions of a large single, it is now approximately as wide as a std, fabric, double sized matress, but it is also still quite firm. I'm actually purchasing a 2nd bed today, just in case.😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Great, great extra bed for guests, and I stand by my original review.

Works great and excellent quality! I recommend this one as a posed to the cheaper $30 air mattresses. Spend the extra $30 or $40 and get one that you'll keep longer and have less problems.

When my air bed arrived I set it up immediately because we needed the extra sleeping space. We've had it inflated for almost a month now, and it still is holding air, and it is very durable. I think this is probably the best air mattress I've ever purchased. I have a queen size aero-bed, and we like that one also, and it's been very durable. But this Coleman is an excellent mattress for our guests.

Excellent quality. Inflates and deflates quickly. Holds air well and is ideal for use with guests who need a bed for more than a night or two.

I really like this air mattress. It's well-constructed, easy to inflate or deflate. Years ago, I used air mattresses instead of regular mattresses because of a neck injury that caused peripheral neuropathy. It's been a while since I bought an air mattress and the brands have come and gone. But, Coleman is still there! Since my daughter needs to take over my queen sized regular bed, I had to get a twin air mattress. My regular mattress is the first one I found to be comfortable enough for me, and this air mattress is just as comfortable! It's easy for me to get into bed and out of bed. It's a great height. And the design is nice. I like the pillowy sides. Very comfortable to rest my hand on when I sleep on my side. And, for such a high airbed, it's pretty stable. All of these features are important to me since I'm nearly 72 years old and disabled. I had been worried that I'd have to tell my daughter she can't have my bed, but I'm so glad that this air mattress will perfectly suit my needs. I had been considering the purchase of a day bed, but I don't think it would be as comfortable as this air mattress.

I have recently purchased this mattress for my mom who was visiting for a few weeks. It is AMAZING. Takes 1 min to blow it up. It has been more than a week and it is still in the same shape as it was , no air loss just yet. It is pretty high as well so it does look like an actual bed once you have the comforter on it. I do recommend this product , i think the quality is great !!!

This mattress is probably the greatest purchase I have ever made on amazon. We travel regularly and have always hauled air mattresses around. Having one that self inflates and self deflates has made my life so much easier! Plug it in, turn the dial, wait a few minutes, and get ready for bed! I used it for an entire week vacation and it held up well, no leaking at all.

I just moved to a new city and am waiting for my house to close. In the meantime I'm at a friend's. I've been sleeping on this for 2 months and only had to top up the air twice. It's about as comfortable as an airbed can be expected to be. It fills up quickly too. Very satisfied

I've had this for a few months now, and with five cat, it somehow has lived. I don't know if I have sweet and gentle cats, or if this product is tough as nails. Either way, it survived me, a 280 pound woman, sleeping on it, so I am happy. <3

I made this $62.60 purchase in July of 2017 after our Mom’s stroke and many falls thereafter with no immediate assistance from her insurance. It was to be a substitute for a $5k medical product that would inflate and bring her to the height of a chair safely. So, I bought it - just in case. With in home therapy, a bedrail (LumaRail) that I purchased from Amazon, new batteries for her motorized wheelchair also through Amazon, and non slip/grip socks through Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0731FTFFF?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title), we were able to greatly reduce her falls. She had limited strength very early this morning on Mother’s Day and fell with an inability to get up with the non slip/grip socks and bedrail, so she had Alexa call my cell. With my assistance, we still could not do it. I finally opened this product (perfect size), rolled it out, plugged it in with the use of an extension cord, wiggled and slid her on it (all of her body on it), and turned the red knob to the right to inflate. We were amazed at how fast and quietly this inflated, but I did not time it since I held her hand to make sure she was safe and stable. I’d estimate about 3 minutes with her on it. The bed inflated to the perfect height (about the height of her bed so slightly higher than a chair) to where we got her in a seated position to then stand up using the bedrail to get back into bed. A true life saver. I’m in love with the deflate option as well which is turning the red knob to the left rather than the old school way of unplugging the air valve to lay on it to get all the air out. Quickly deflated. No instructions needed to use this product. We turned a negative into a positive, and she opened her Mother’s Day gifts (also purchased through Amazon) after she caught her breath. Thank you Amazon!
