item as described, serves its purpose.
So far, so good. This item was recommended by a friend. Good pick! While it cannot read cards/flash drives simultaneously - you can have two cards/flash drives in there and easily switch back and forth between them. The only "issue" I am having is that the cord is "trained" upside down from how the USB naturally fits into my computer. So i've had to kinda, wrap it around, so the base fits flat the way it supposed to.

Deskspace saver and about any port you need.
I had purchased a hub like this previously that was only USB. I was using it to extend USB 3.0 on an aging Mac Pro (Installed a PCIx card to give it 3.0 speeds to begin with). With only two ports on the back of the machine, I needed an extension to somewhere useful. I also had an external harrdrive enclosure I was using as a card reader. I swear, I looked high and low for an all in one solution but found this one on Amazon a few weeks later. Had to get it. This sits well on my desk. Not to heavy so easily knocked around but stable enough. Having all the functionality I need in a tiny device easily accessible is wonderful. I didn't realize how clunky my previous system was. As for the speed, well, I'm not sure it's 3.0. It's well enough most of the time. I read a review, I can't remember if it was for this one or the previous model I had, but there was a caveat that it's only capable of doing USB 3.0 speeds with only one device connected. I can attest that this does work at least some of the time. Others... I'm not sure if it was an issue with the hub or the device (USB flash drive) that caused lower speeds. Regardless, I have three USB sometimes 3.0 ports on my desk along with a card reader for SD, micro SD, AND COMPACT FLASH! This is a wonderful solution. I'd love to hear comments from others about their speeds (especially anyone who is trying to squeeze all he/she can out of a Mac Pro).

Get a USB hub and card reader in one.
What first drew my attention was the design. In a small package you get both a hub and card reader. I got a new iMac 5K and the iMac has the worst placement of the SD card reader ever! So I needed an easy access card reader. This combines a small unpowered USB 3 hub and card reader. It's a nice solid unit with rubber bottom to help keep it from sliding around. As far as operation, first the hub. I've plunged several USB devices and hard drives and had no problem with this powering the drives. Sometimes unpowered hubs have problems supplying enough power for hard drives, this one has worked great. Next the card reader, first there are known problems with this working with iMac with El Capitain OSX. They have a fix on the web but for me this did not fix the problem. The hub worked fine but the computer would not recognize the card reader. I posted on Sabrent's tech support site and they had me try a few things which did not fix the problem. After informing them that the card reader still did not work they then sent a replacement unit that works fine. I can't ask for more. On top of that I think it's reasonably priced as well. It's not much more than a single purpose USB card reader adapter.

Great multiuse hub to provide extra connections.
This is a great addition to any computer! I was really interested in it due to the variety of memory card slots and usb 3 ports. So far, it has served me very well and allows me to easily plug in USB devices and camera cards without having to get under my desk and connect my devices to the motherboard ports themselves. ________________________________________________________ DO NOT try to run too much data through this one USB hub. Your computers USB ports can only handle so much data (even if they are USB 3.0). I cannot backup my photos and larger files between hard drives on this hub itself because it is trying to pull too much power and information from one USB port. Doing this will most likely lead to a system freeze-up where you either have to wait it out, or hard-restart your computer which could potentially corrupt the drive or files you were trying to transfer of manage. Otherwise, this hub serves a great purpose for me and is very aesthetically pleasing. I have a windows desktop computer, but the design of the hub would better accompany the styling of Apple computers with the similar silver finish.

Card Reader section dead on arrival.
I just received this device and after much anticipation, the card reader part is completely dead. The USB ports function fine but the CF, SD and MicroSD ports do not read at all. As a professional photographer and MAC owner, this device holds a lot of potential as MACs only have 2 USB ports. Having a hub and card reader in one device can be invaluable. I have already contacted Tech support and sent them the information they have requested, a replacement should be on the way shortly. Once that has arrived and tested to be functional, I will revisit the review but as for now 2 starts for the B.O.O.B ( bad out of the box ) card reader portion. UPDATE As of 9/1/2015 - The replacement device arrived from Sabrent in record time. The new device works perfectly. The CF and SD cards are functional on this one along with the USB 3.0 ports. Great price, great construction and functionality. Space and port saver. Support was above expected. Would definitely buy from them again.

Partially functioning.
UPDATE [JUNE 24 2016]: I was able to contact Sabrent and explain the situation with the SD cards not reading. I received a quick response, and he let me know that he was sending me a new 100% working USB hub completely free of charge. He even tested the product personally to make sure it was working. I received the replacement in 2 days and it is working exactly how I want it to. I previously gave this product a 2-star review, but because of the excellent customer service, I have changed my rating to 5-stars. Thank you, Sabrent, for the excellent customer service! [ORIGINAL REVIEW] The USB ports are upside down, despite the box showing that they are upright. This is not a huge issue, unless you have USB devices with LED's on the plug, or something similar. The SD and Micro SD card readers do not work, which was a huge selling point for me. I do not have a CF card so I can't say if that works or not, but I am willing to bet that it doesn't. I tried plugging the USB hub into another powered USB hub, in hopes that the card readers would start working, however they do not! The product looks nice, and to be honest, the USB plugs work exactly how I expected. However, the card readers were a must have for me, and having them not work is upsetting as I cannot find another product that has the the same functionality while also looking very nice. If the card readers worked as advertised, I believe I would give this USB hub a 5 star rating.

Economical and useful solution
This is a great solution for attaching multiple format USB media when you have a limited number of USB ports to use. Ignore the emphasis on Mac computers in the Amazon description. This hub will work with PC, Mac, IOS and likely Android. It has three USB ports, along with card slots for an SD card, a CF card, micro SD, Mmc or M2 card. I tested a 32GB SD card, 64GB SD card, a 32GB USB flash drive, a 128GB flash drive and a 640GB USB hard drive. All worked fine. I resting attaching to a wireless device and reading from an iPad. I also tested attaching to a PC and reading the data. Both scenarios worked. Very nice solution for home or on the road.

Great card reader/hub with even better customer service
I purchased this card reader / hub a little over a year ago and have found it incredibly useful. I'm always looking for quick access to a USB port, and this was perfect for that. In addition, I needed a card reader that would let me use compact flash, SD and Micro SD cards and this fit the bill for everything. It is pretty solid with a nice aluminum and a good rubber gripping pad on the bottom. The only problem came a week or two ago when I could no longer read CF cards. Seems the reader conked out, however, after I reached out to customer service, they immediately offered to send a replacement with no hassle. The new reader just arrived this weekend and I'm back in business! I have yet to find a card reader / hub that fits so well in my workflow and with great service if you should have a problem, I would highly recommend it!

Great Customer Service and good build quality.
Ok so I bought this some time ago. It worked great and I never got to reviewing it. Recently it started acted weird. Whether that is windows or the device I couldn't figure out since this is my only hub at the moment. It appeared to be the Hub as it would randomly not recognize a card and then recognize it the next time. Well contacted Customer service and got a replacement within the week. Went quickly and the new one looks like the usb cable near the plug got beefed up for protection or something. So overall really great experience. I'm not sure what caused the first one to have issues but the customer service and the build makes me believe it is just one of those random things that happens. Would definitely recommend the seller and this Hub.

Great HUB
I was looking for CF Card reader because transferring the photos directly from the camera takes so long. I was so happy to find this product. It has 3 USB ports, CF Card Reader and SD and micro SD card reader. The transferring speed is many times faster than using a USB cable from Camera (canon 5s classic). In additional, it look really cool with my MacBook Pro and wood Ikea table :)
