I bought this as a birthday present for my 4-year-old niece. She and her sister were playing with it nonstop for several weeks. This is a nice toy where even adults can enjoy it. Because there is a degree of engineering and design that goes into making this, it's a fun toy that promotes creativity while providing fun, instant feedback once the build is complete, yet it is simple enough that even a 4-6 year-old can figure out how to build with it. The only "complaint" I would say about it is that it will create a lot of noise. But neither of the parents complained about the noise a week or so later...so I'd say it's worth it. I'd recommend to people with kids.

My kids have loved this track so much that we caught a second set to add onto it. We also bought one for my nephew for Christmas. It does require adult help for younger kids because you have to make sure there is enough support to hold up the structure. The being said, the sky is the limit. You can make it anything you want and you aren't held to strict design guidelines. It is fun thing to do with the kids that requires 5- 10 minutes to build and entertains them for hours!

Great marble run. Literally kept my six year old boy occupied for more than an hour. Even after it was built, there was something mesmerizing and captivating about watching marbles cascade down the run. Great gift for creativity and fun, and bonus is that it keeps kids away from videos! Only downside is that it naturally makes noise from the marbles running down the tracks so after more than an hour, I had to tell the kids to take a break.

We bought this marble run starter set for our son's birthday (5 years old). I have made lots of different runs in the past with tubes and recycled paper towel tubes. Well, this is much better than the homemade stuff! We got all the parts out of the box and started making the recommended structure. You may find it a little counter-intuitive to follow the instructions to make the proposed structure but once done it is an hour of fun guaranteed. I would recommend getting at least the 60 piece kit to start. You will find that more pieces is better if you want to be creative. My son and daughter ended up playing with it for a couple of hours as soon as we got it out of the box. It also got played with regularly since we got it so I definitely recommend it!

My son is 3 and attending speech therapy weekly. We purchased this marble run starter set because the school where he attends therapy had previously had a set (which he loved) that they used to engage him and encourage him to speak, but some volunteers threw it away because it was missing some pieces. This set arrived quickly (yay, Prime!) and had plenty of pieces which my son enjoys building into endless configurations and and racing marbles throughout. We also purchased one of those round play mat bags that has a drawstring so the set can be easily transported between our home and speech therapy. I noticed a few days ago that one of the spinning wheels didn't connect properly and was causing marbles to get stuck. I reached out to the Marble Genius folks directly to see about replacing the wheel - and they are sending us a whole new set! They are so kind. Nothing but 5 stars for this product - and the maker!

My 9 year old son loves legos, and I was looking for something that he could play with that would be a little different. He is difficult to interest in new types of toys, sometimes, as he is high functioning ASD. I got this on a whim for Christmas, and he was uninterested in the box. But when I got it out and started building (and it was fun for me, too!), he soon became interested. He loves roller coasters and he loves building things, so he really loved watching the marbles go through the maze I had built. He quickly figured out how to make the pieces work together and balance correctly, and soon began building his own mazes! I was really happy to see him so thrilled with the toy. I will say that it would be a little difficult for a preschooler to do this independently as it does take some balancing. This will easily topple if you don't have it balanced right and all the feet down on the ground evenly. On the other hand, this set is a very good teaching tool for building concepts like that. Fabulous toy, and if his interest continues I will be buying one of the other sets!

The pieces are good quality, marbles are glass rather than plastic, and the transparent pieces are cool. My 5 year old loves it so much, he disassembled my lawn's irrigation system to see how far the marbles would go underground, but was disappointed to discover that PVC is solid white, and not transparent.

I was a bit leery of buying this for my 4 year old granddaughter because of some of the negative reviews about how hard it is for a child to use. Its been over 4 months and she loves it. I did buy a set of glass marbles to go with it since some folks said it did not work well with the plastic marbles it came with. She plays with it with her dad....and they both love it so much that they have purchased another one to make bigger runs. This is a hit with them.

Great you! Provides entertainment for a long while. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have enough end caps & talk support legs. We bought the expansion pack but still don’t have enough end caps that catch the balls. One of the marbles was defective so it gets caught along the way but we just removed it from the game. We purchased it when the kids were about to turn 4, at first they’re not into building it too much bc it’s time consuming but with some encouragement & help they stayed engaged & the end product is fun! Definitely a toy that needs parental help ... not for younger kids due to the size of the marbles. Perhaps as they grow older they can play & build alone but for younger preschoolers they will need adult help.
