Great product that works perfectly

This small lightweight sweeper/blower is just what I needed to move the leaves that accumulate near my front door on almost a daily basis. I have 2 heavy duty blowers with cords, but it's just too much trouble to get one of them out for small jobs. They also have too much power to move the leaves in my flower beds because they blow the leaves, but also the mulch. This little unit also does that job perfectly since its small size enables me to get all the leaves around each plant or bush while leaving the mulch in place and not harming the small plants. This also works great blowing out the dust, dirt, and leaves that find their way into my garage and it's less labor intensive than using a broom. The battery seems to last about 15-20 minutes, but since I own 3 other B&D cordless products, I always have extra charged batteries. I also love that this unit is lightweight since I'm a 71 year old with back problems. As other reviewers have stated, it works best on mostly dry leaves.

Perfect For Me

I've only had this sweeper for a few days, but I love it so far. Very light weight and perfect blowing power for me. My old blower was gas powered, had to pull cord to start, very heavy , and blew so hard, it about knocked me over. I'm a petite lady and have had a stroke. I don't have perfect balance anymore but can do chores around the house. This is perfect for me. I can sweep off carport and patio with no problems. Doesn't knock me over. Perfect for sweeping outside. I ca't speak to longevity of product because I've only had for a few days, but I love it so far. Minimal assembly and had no problems. Battery took about 3 hours to charge the first time, less time after that. Charge lasted throughout my outdoor chores and longer. So far,I am so pleased with product. It does what it is advertised to do. Don't expect it to be a strong yard leaf blower because that is not what it is. It's a sweeper; however, it does blow dry leaves off my carport and patio. If you want a blower to blow lots of yard leaves, the you should buy a blower built for that kind of job. I can't understand any of the negative reviews but I guess some people have too high expectations and don't read the product specifications. Do your homework people! This product performs exactly as stated in the specifications. Gee-sh!

Battery Operated Sweeper by Black and Decker - Just what I needed

I needed to replace my other Black and Decker blower with the old style 18v battery. My batteries are getting older and I did not want to buy anymore so I ordered this and for the money and what I needed it for it's great. This blower is for blowing dust and debris out of your garage or off decks, porches, sidewalks or other hard surfaces. I use it primarly after mowing to get the grass off the driveway, street, and sidewalks. It probably takes me 10 minutes and my old one would start wearing down if I did not hurry up. I took my time testing this and probably was using it for at least 15 minutes with no slowdown. I like how it is curved up at the end so the angle is right without having to lean down to get the debris to blow slightly up and into the grass or over the curb. It is extremely lightweight and small enough for an old lady like me to manage! It just has an on off switch. Simple to operate. It was also easy to put together as the tube just slides on and snaps in place. The battery said it takes 4 hrs to charge but mine was done in less than 2. It probably came partially charged. There is a light that flashes when it's charging and is on steady when it's done charging. Great system. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend for sweeping light debris. Great little patio sweeper

This is a nice little sweeper. I use this to blow off my patio under a pergola. It is also good pressure for blowing leaves off of gravel/mulch landscaping and not move the landscaping material. This is not appropriate for blowing leaves in grass ( which is why it's called a sweeper). Great price on a 20V cordless product.

Very Happy Customer

Love this blower. It easily moves my small leaves and grass clippings for my weekly lawn work. I no longer have to use a broom or water hose to get rid of the grass clippings. Saves so much time. I'd recommend buying an extra battery if you have or plan on buying multiple black and decker units. I have the hedge trimmer and weed eater which are great products too. It's nice having all black and decker lawn tools since the batteries are interchangeable. But one battery will work perfectly fine for just the blower for weekly lawn work so no need in getting an extra battery if you have an average size lawn.

Perfect for light sweeping!

I was skeptical when I ordered this unit. I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful this blower is for light work. I cleared the patio, front walkways and driveway with no loss of power and plenty of blowing power to do the job. Charger works perfectly, quickly. Once charged, manual recommends leaving it in the charger so it is always ready, which is what I do. I was concerned about it getting too warm. Once charged, it basically shuts off and shows a green light to indicate it is ready for use. Great lightweight blower for quick cleanups.

it works beautifully. Plus it works great to clear the snow ...

I bought this to keep our concrete patio/gazebo area free of leaves, grass, dirt and other debris and partly because the power source matches the grass trimmer/edger and tree pole trimmer that we currently have. I bought it too late in the fall season to use it for the leaves, however I decided to charge the battery and keep it by our entryway to clear snow off our steps and walkway. So far, as long as the snow is of the light fluffy variety and isn't too deep, it works beautifully. Plus it works great to clear the snow off my wife and my vehicles. It has some decent power to it and so far I haven't had to recharge the battery. I would definitely recommend buying this tool, especially if you already have some of the B&D Max tools.

Love it -- Better than I had hoped

I've been a homeowner for 30 yrs and have blown a lot of leaves in that time. First electric blowers, then gas. I was skeptical how powerful this one would be, and how long the battery life would last. I am delighted with both!! It's surprisingly powerful, and very convenient (I store it inside my house, in the laundry room). I use it to blow leaves and debris from my porch, walkway, driveway and deck. The battery lasts about 30 mins of semi-continuous use, and you'll likely be surprised with the power this blower puts out. When I have a lot leaves in my lawn, I still use my gas powered blower, but this one is great (and oh-so-convenient) for everything else. Lightweight too! My wife doesn't want to use my bulky, heavy gas-powered blower, but she's happy to grab this one. I also like the fact it uses the same battery as my Black & Decker edger, and hedge trimmer ... when the battery goes out on one, I can switch it.

Not a leaf blower but a terriffic broom!

This is a great little broom. It works so well that I use it in my shop and around the pool or anywhere that you would use a push broom. It covers a large sweeping area and is very light weight and quiet. I have several Black and Decker products and their batteries are all interchangeable which I like. The only way they could have made this better is to included a 2.0Ah battery rather than their standard battery but even with that it lasts long enough to sweep my clippings from around the yard, driveway, pool, and deck. Keep in mind that this is NOT a leaf blower even though it will blow leaves, it just won't blow large piles of them unless you work at it a little at a time but it's an excellent broom for sweeping driveways, sidewalks, and the like. Both my wife and I truly love this little thing.

Totally Satisfied

I have been very satisfied with all the yard tools I have bought in this Black & Decker series, and this is no exception. I have an LSW120 that I bought in 2011. When I saw how much smaller and lighter the LSW221 was, I was expecting lower performance, but I was wrong. It works at least as well. I don't know how they get the same blowing power out of such a small motor! As I wrote in my earlier review of the LSW120, I am amazed and how well this unit performs. I compared it to my plug-in leaf blower, and this one does a much better job. Remember, this unit is not designed for commercial use, and it will not perform like the big, noisy, gasoline-powered units that professional lawn service companies use. I use it to clear leaves from my walkways, porches, driveway, and car. When I do a lot of work, I need a second battery (which I have from all the other B&D tools). I also have one of the double-capacity batteries, which can be used with this model but would not fit on the LSW120.
