Great gopro clamp for the price
Item arrived later than expected twice, but did arrive. Really, like the rock solid construction of the clamp. The clamp seems to be a little hard to open.! I cant see it ever coming loose from a backpack strap or whatever you clamp it to. the clamp opens about 3/4in. The ratcheting rotation of the camera mount part itself feels solid too. l am gonna attach one of my gopro adapters to the clamp for easy change abilty between my cameras. l made the custom adapters for my use from available parts here on Amazon. l included a photo of my adapter for my phone with this clamp. Great clamp for a pov clamp or second view camera. Does show alot of movement when walking with it, but still a great buy.

Simple product and functions well
This is not a complicated product by any means. It doesn't need to do a ton of things. My expectations: 1) Strong clip & tension mechanism 2) Decent teeth to to stay connected to fabric 3) Durable materials It does all of these things well. Dare I say this generic Chinese product met or exceeded my expectations? Yes, I dare. Only negative: Why put the Sametop logo? What does Sametop even mean? Why use cheap rub off paint? Save yourself a step in the manufacture process and abstain from adding your random logo.

Awesome
Very strong clamp! Amazing product although I would say one annoying thing is the plastic mashing into your shoulder if you really want the correct angle with your GoPro (looking straight) I added some pieces of velcro (soft side strips) to the back of the plastic so it does not hurt and is a world of difference! Added pictures of my minor adjustment to increase comfort. Worked pretty good for my hike, definitely recommend!

Great GoPro accessory for hiking!
I used the backpack strap on a recent day hike and it did not disappoint. The first thing you'll notice is how strong the clip is, maybe a bit too strong. It does require some grip force to get it open and closed, but once it's clipped on you can be sure it will not fall off even if you bump it. While I've only used this on a backpack strap, I have experimented with mounting it to other thin surfaces (ie wetsuit for snorkeling) and so far it holds up well. Depending on the type of GoPro frame you're using, you'll have to adjust the mount accordingly. With the standard GoPro frame/mount, I tilted the clip mount down so I could get more coverage pointing up (when flipped up the frame will not point perfectly straight because the bottom pin of the mount restricts movement). I also used the GoPro app to dial in the view. I recommend doing this otherwise your horizon could appear tilted, which can be disorienting when viewing your footage. I found that adjusting the angle of the clip to less than 90 degrees helped level the horizon. Also, remember that once you get the view just the way you want, any movement of the backpack strap after that could skew the footage (for example, pulling the straps in with your hands). For fellow hikers out there with GoPros, I would recommend using this with hyperlapse or timewarp feature, with a setting of 10x or 15x.

Nice, sturdy mount for my new GoPro
Nice, sturdy mount for my new GoPro. I used it for a hike in NY at mohonk preserve (labyrinth hike for anyone who is familiar) which involves some rock scrambling and a squeeze through a tiny rock crevice. I didn't have to worry about my camera falling off my backpack. I can't even open the mount with one hand, so I was confident it would stay put throughout the hike and anything else I will use it for. Just as good as GoPro accessories. I will definitely buy from this company again.

The clip Clamps HARD
Just like any other Gopro accessory, theres nothing really different on the mount side; however, when you try to open the clip to clamp something on it, it it really tough to open. I liked this and i didnt like this if you know what i mean. The clamping force is justified. It makes the Gopro more stable and your video will be better and all that, but at the same time, its also a pain to get off and on. Overall, its a solid clip for your GoPro and it has really made my experience with my GoPro really worth the time and money. User with GoPro Hero 7 - Black

My backpacking GoPro mount solution
This clip mount for my GoPro couldn't have been any better of a solution. I use my GoPro when hiking to collect small clips of interesting areas, and this clip allows me to put my GoPro right on my shoulder strap. Quick install, quick release, easy access to my camera all day. It's built very well with a surprisingly strong clip and gnarly teeth that really hold on for dear life. Standard knuckle for GoPros and similar cameras. This clip goes on horizontally or vertically, and the camera mount is on a tight swivel that clicks into position every couple degrees. I was quickly able to get a perfect POV install in seconds. This mount will go with me on all trips from now on. You could also use this clip on the bill of a baseball hat as a true head-level POV mount. Clip it on your side shoulder strap or your chest strap (if your pack has one) for a near-perfect POV. Get one!

Recommended for low-impact activities -- tolerable as backpack strap mount for motorcyclists
I actually used this to mount my SJCAM4000 to my backpack strap while riding my motorcycle. This thing held on with ease. As the clamping pressure is quite high (I really have to squeeze with one hand), it had no problem holding the weight of the camera (at a 90 degree angle from the mounting point, no less). Unfortunately, I cannot exactly recommend it for motorcycle use because it shakes too much (a helmet mount is definitely in order). But honestly, it did quite well when I rode. It held up to great wind speeds and even while I was going 50 mph into a canyon (lots of wind coming out of that canyon). So that should be a testament to how well this works. It also has a small eyelet for looping a cable for redundancy, which I definitely used. For people who backpack or any other low-impact activities, I would highly recommend this.

Jaws of life. Great for backpack!
I used this primarily attached to the 5.11 Rush 12 backpack. Granted, I did not skydive or do any backflips, the clip kept the GoPro clamped onto the shoulder pad very well. I used it several days on a trip and had no issues. In situations where a handgrip would of been nice, I just extended the clamp to its longest position and used it as a handgrip. The clamp itself has a very sturdy spring and you nearly need both hands to open the clamp. I would definitely recommend this for attaching to a backpack.

This was an awesome purchase for our Walt Disney World vacation
This was an awesome purchase for our Walt Disney World vacation. I wanted a way to carry around the go-pro without being obtrusive. This worked great, was clipped to our bookbag or my tank strap! It was never in the way, it never fell off, you can rotate the clip and tilt it in the direction that you want to film. I had multiple people stop me and ask about it or comment on how smart it was oppose to the head or chest strap. It was very stiff to start like other reviews have said but it moved well after a few turns and a few squeezes.
