The item is exactly as it's described and installs easily. What I mean by "installs easy" is that once you go through the hugely aggravating and meticulous removal of your old cracked ipad screen, putting the new one on is pretty manageable, and I am not tech savvy at all. Find a good video on youtube, watch it first, and then watch WHILE you are installing your new screen. I didn't even glance at the instructions included in the package. As far as replacement products go, this one seemed really good.

I replaced the front glass on a cracked ipad mini 2. I found the repair to be very easy and I have no computer building experience. All the tools and supplies I needed were in the kit. At the end, everything on the ipad mini worked like new. Very happy with this buy. Happy I did not pay someone over 100$ to fix it as it took around 2 hours total and was not difficult. The only BAD part of this product is the instructions. They are written in the TEENIEST, TINIEST font in existence. And the instructions are very poorly written too. I agree with other reviewers that you just need to go to youtube and there are easy to follow videos.

Great kit, it came with everything I needed to fix it ( Well except for a hair dryer or heat gun but you can get those someplace else) I didn't use the written institutions instead I looked up videos but it works, you just need to pay attention to everything and keep all the screws in safe, saparate place. It also has two plastic screen protectors so you don't accidentally scratch either side of the screen

The instructions were really annoying to read. We watched a few YouTube videos and followed those instead. Honestly much easier to understand. We watched about 4 or 5 videos and not one of them said to unplug the battery (the instructions do). It is very important that you do so or you could blow a backlight fuse. I feel like the instructions should list this in big bold red letters. This took us about 3-4 hours to do from beginning to end. The first hour was spent trying to get the screen off. It was so badly shattered that we had to keep flaking off small pieces and it took forever. Then we took our time disassembling it because we didn’t want to mess anything up. After doing one, I bet it could be cut in half the time or less. The screen has weird lines in it when it’s off, but I don’t notice it while it’s turned on. It’s been replaced for about 5 days now and it works so great! There are no ghost touches or any sign of delayed or sensitive responses. I took my iPhone to a store to replace a broken screen and it is so sensitive and it drives me crazy. I paid way less for this iPad screen (of course having to do it myself), but this screen works way better than the replacements at a repair shop. I’ll update if anything changes, but so far so good!!

This is a good kit. It is so very much worth the few extra dollars it costs relative to the cheapest kits. I saw no hint of the digitizer grid lines mentioned by another reviewer. It comes with almost all the tools you need and some written instructions. In addition, I found it essential to look at a couple of online how-to-do-it videos and to print and to read a written document you can find on the web: The Ultimate iPad Mini Repair Post. For a heat source, I found glue guns did not work but a hair dryer did. Additional tools used included a couple of exacto knives (use sparingly as noted in the Repair Post). The two long heat shield screws go on the left side near the bottom. Be compulsive about cleaning up the old adhesive: I alternated using alcohol and Goo Gone with Q-tips, plus scraping. My old digitizer was badly broken and I did not learn until too late that I should have put clear packing tape on it before starting. That would have saved a lot of glass bits all over the place. I'm very handy but the process took me and my son about four hours...be patient and you'll have a functional ipad again!

For now I am giving this 5 Stars...I have not received this yet but I think I can give some helpful hints on how to do this much more qwkly. I am sure the instructions say this but worth repeating. Tape the screen with tape first. that will help to prevent glass getting all over..and help prevent injury. My next bit of advise and this might be the best advise I can give is if you have a heating pad that get really hot lay the heating pad over the whole screen area...do not wrap heating pad around it...just lay it on top and then find a big book heavy book and lay on top of the heating pad.. give it 2 minutes and it will heat up that glue in no time.. you may have to re-heat it a few times but its much quicker than using a blow dryer. Here at work I have an old cellophane wrapper that has this heating pad and I will lay the Ipad on that and in no time at all I can remove the screen and scrape old glue off...I think tops I can do a switch in about 15 minutes.....Just a bit of advise

The screen was easy enough to install, however the instructions are way to small very hard to see. I used a YouTube video called icrackedit which is very thorough. If I’m being nit-picky once you remove protective plastic from the face of the screen it looks like the glue from the plastic left some lines but it’s barely noticeable. Tools are included

This is a high quality replacement screen and comes with almost everything you need for a successful repair. First of all, screen replacement on the ipad mini is not for the faint at heart. If you are not careful you can further damage your ipad. I say the kit has "almost" everything you need because I feel that the screen does not have enough insulating tape on the bottom of the screen near the home button. The insulation is very important to prevent "ghost touches." My suggestion is to remove as much tape as possible from the original digitizer and transfer it to the new digitzer. If you have kapton tape then that will work as well. My kit did not come with a suction cup but I did not need it since my original screen was cracked. The metal blade and tweezers are great and the reason why I purchased this kit versus the cheaper ones. Before you begin the repair, I highly recommend that you watch several videos on YouTube on how to replace the screen. I found the videos by "iCracked" and "Go Cell Phone Repair" to be most helpful. Before attaching the screen to the ipad, make sure that the glue strips on the side of the screen are properly aligned. The glue on my new screen was slightly off but I was able to lift it and realign with the tweezers. It should be as close as possible to the edge to create a good seal. Don't forget the magnets on the corners. Take your time and have fun. It took me 4 hours to complete but this was my first time.

I'll give this one 5 stars!!! I bought two of these, one black one white to repair my kids iPad Mini's. Both had already been fixed under a repair plan by a major repair company you may know. (ST) They were both repaired half-a** prior to me installing these. The repair looked good from the outside, however they must have used generic / universal adhesive because it didn't match the frame at all and was just applied in strange places. They were also lazy and only replaced about 5 screws out of 15 or so that hold the rear metal plate in!!!! Oh, and they also did not transfer the magnets to the new screens! It also came apart really easy which tells me the adhesive wasn't that good. It's wasn't black rubber adhesive, it looked a lot like double sided scrap-booking tape runner material! Back to this wonderful product: The black pre-applied adhesive of this FixCracked supplied unit was perfectly cut to the digitizer and is black / rubber colored. It appears to hold well and seems to match what Apple puts on at the factory to begin with. Should I be in the need for replacement screens again, I will definitely looked for the FixCracked label.

Great seller and excellent customer service. Great product. However, when installing, please look for a video instruction that show a screen replacement. The included directions are very small and hard to follow, so I felt frustrated until I found a video that walked me through the process. Watch the video first and then start the replacement. Just as a side note, leave the front facing camera alone. Some videos will show how to disassemble the front-facing camera, and if you are replacing a cracked screen, you may not need to touch the camera.
