Greatest Results Ever, Super Quick and Super Easy!
DISCLAIMER: This review was written by my wife! I am usually a rather critical reviewer, and I was honestly a bit skeptical about this system before trying it...but this is surely a 5 star product, and the experience is much BETTER than I expected!! Results I have tried many foundation products and brands, with most having good reputations, including the most respected brands from Europe, US, Japan, and Korea. I’ve also tried various foundation types including liquids, creams, cushions, compacts, BB, CC, mineral powders... you name it, I've probably tried it! Among everything that I've tried, the Luminess foundation and air brush yielded THE BEST results. It gives a very natural, yet stunning, glamorous look. I never imagined a natural look can be gorgeous like this. Application I never thought you could apply foundation this quickly. It takes literally only several seconds. Great news for us busy girls in the morning! Device cleaning With water-based foundations, cleaning the airbrush is super easy, quick and thorough! I am very happy that I can clean the device thoroughly, in only takes 10 seconds. The online video instructions say you can spray the cleaning water onto a tissue, but since I apply foundation at the bathroom sink, I simply spray the water into sink. I confess that I never wash my brushes and sponges after use – it’s too much work! I usually wipe the powder off the brushes but that's it ... meaning that I may be spreading bacteria on my face with used sponges and brushes...which can actually give you acne. With the Luminess airbrush system, I don't have to worry about it! Finishes Four different finishes are available including Mystic, Silk, Ultra and Matte. This kit comes with Ultra. Luminess Air describes Ultra as "a sheer coverage, weightless demi-matte foundation that delivers a gorgeous, lit-from-within look that’s the perfect balance between luminous and velvety". They also say Ultra is "a long-lasting, perfectly balanced foundation that both hydrates and absorbs", and describe it "a radiant-yet-matte finish". The descriptions appear accurate, and I totally agree with them. "Radiant-yet-matte" sounds no make sense but it really is radiant, but not shiny. Ultra is recommended for combination skin. It would be good to explore other finishes, though their web site has no good pictures showing the differences of each finish; each shade's description is tedious and painful to read. Coverage I am honestly very perplexed with the coverage. I had been using two different concealers, mostly for under my eyes, and in the gaps of the sides of the nose, and I had believed they are indispensable, as without them, I would have dark circles that give me a tired, old look, with the sides of my nose looking distinctive, wide and round. But with this product, even though it does not obviously conceal anything, both dark circles and the sides of the nose wings don’t appear conspicuous. I am guessing it is because the foundation gives such a glamorous impression and shine (it is not actually shiny, but it looks gorgeous, I feel it looks almost shiny), it does not allow you to notice those flaws. One of the most famous dark-circle-specialized concealer products did not work for me, as my dark circle is too dark to miss. Or maybe the Luminess foundation really has a thorough coverage, while looking very natural and not appearing to be heavily applied. It's mysterious. Dryness / Oil control I've been using two different bases for moisturizing and oil control when wearing any other foundations. I did three trials using the Luminess foundation: 1) without a base, after washing my face and using my regular moisturizer; 2) without a base, after wearing rather oily sunscreen; and 3) using the moisturizing base that came with kit. Results for Trials 1 and 2 were great, but Trial 3 gave the best results. I couldn't believe that the foundation endured the oily sunscreen base, although I don't exactly recommend wearing the foundation that way. Endurance The Luminess foundation endured after I went out for walking / running. I haven't tried the foundation for any sports or conditions where you sweat profusely, so I can’t evaluate how durable it would be under those conditions. Long lasting At the end of the day, I don't really see any particular flaws. Pros I never expected -Adjustable shades. You can mix colors to make a perfect shade for you. This is particularly great news for me, as I often tan, and the shade of my face can change frequently. -Usable for gray coverage! I just need a suitable color for that purpose. -Usable for perfectly symmetric eye brow drawing!! The DVD that came with the kit said the kit includes eye brow stencils, but my kit did not, though. - Cons I have been praising the product as if I were an advertiser (which I am not of course!). But… Here are the cons: -Not for touch-up outside of your home. The airbrush system is not that big, but not too small, and you need an outlet to operate this. -The unit is not made for travel, especially internationally, with different voltages. I am not sure if you would want to bring an electricity converter only for this device. I understand that the device cannot be tiny, but I wish it was battery operated at least. -You may be stuck with Luminess Air foundations. I wonder if the inexpensive kit price is based on a business model like inkjet printers; they sell a printer for a cheap price, you keep buying an expensive cartridges. 0.55 ounces of Luminess Air foundation retails for $36 on their website. I’m not sure how long it lasts, although you only need 5 drops of foundation per application. -You need storage space for a pump and foundation/base/blush bottles. Taking them out and putting them away is a bit of a hassle to me (yes, I am lazy). I am guessing it would be best to get some sort of cosmetics box to store everything, where you can operate the pump without taking it out of the box. I wish the kit comes with that kind of box or a storage bag of some sort. -Product Description This Amazon product page does not specify which Luminess system this is. Based on the appearance and function, I am guessing it is the “3 Speed Pro System”. Update 10/01/17: After reading some reviews complaining about the airbrush clogging up, I started using distilled water and isopropyl alcohol occasionally for cleaning. The tap water in my area can clog up shower head head holes, and I found it unfair to expect that tiny hole of the airbrush could clog up with minerals from tap water that I was using to clean it. Luminess sells a cleaning solution, but a 2 oz bottle is $12 tag price. I made my own for 99 cents / 1 gallon distill water and $5 / 1 quart isopropyl alcohol, which seems to clean the airbrush well. I don't guarantee that the use of isopropyl alcohol will not damage the stylus, but mine has been okay so far. Just make sure to avoid breathing isopropyl alcohol mist when cleaning. I also use a Q-tip occasionally to wipe off the cup, being careful not to damage the inside of the foundation holder cup.

Love this, I am a pro makeup artist and I use this on some of my clients and they love it, it's easy to use and clean and you can customize your own airbrush foundation to use in it if you don't want to purchase all of the foundation colors from Luminess

Love Luminess Airbrush System
Great Product. Love it! It just takes practice in the beginning to spray the make up on but it is well worth it. The products stays on for hours and I hate to even remove it at night as it still looks exactly the same as when I put it on 10 hrs. before.

Definitely worth it!
I have been wanting to try the Luminess system for awhile and finally purchased it for myself. It takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of it, but so far I absolutely LOVE it! It is very easy to use once you get the hang of it and the results are amazing! I plan on trying it on my daughter for her dance competitions too.

Works as well as advertised
I purchased it for a sibling and she loves it. It applys as easily as they advertise in the informercial and I think she looks much better with it than traditional makeup.

Love it.
Always wanted this system. Finally bought it. Honestly it took me about 2 times to get it down, but I finally figured it out. You have to go do light layers, one at a time. The only downfall to me is that it says 4-5 drops of foundation.... I found this to be inaccurate. To get the cover you actually see if the photos, I have to do about 3 or 4 light layers, which equals about 4-5 drops per layer. Love the blush, but it goes on strong, go easily on that! Overall, it does what it says it will. I ended up ordering a large bottle of the foundation that I found I like (shade, texture, etc.). Recommend, but again, light layers three or four times to get what you're looking for.
